Since 1995, MacKay Vision Center, LLC has served as a dedicated and caring provider of quality vision services to and the surrounding communities. As a patient, you can expect friendly and attentive care from our experienced team of eye care professionals. Dr. David P. MacKay has been practicing optometry in Bedford, New Hampshire since 1995. He graduated cum laude, from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. MacKay received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Prior to practicing in Bedford, Dr. MacKay was the Chief of Optometry for the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Dr. Fung received her Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Smith College in Northampton, MA. Following her undergraduate studies, she completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She had extensive clinical training in prestigious area healthcare facilities including the New England College of Optometry Center for Eye Care, VA Baltimore Clinic, Martha Eliot Health Center and Dorchester House Health Center.
Dr. Engelhart graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (Biology) in 2015 from the University of Maine, Orono. He then received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA in 2019. Dr. Engelhart provides caring and comprehensive eye care to his patients, with a special interest in dry eye and contact lenses.

I have been visiting Dr. MacKay‘s facility for a decade now. His staff is pretty much the same as from the very beginning though his business has expanded he has gotten in some new faces with great talent. Dr. MacKay is warm, lighthearted, soft-spoken, and knows his stuff. He’s always taken the time with me at appointments like I’m the only patient there and even if it’s been a couple years since I’ve seen him, has a warm heart when greeting me. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new eye doctor!

The Doctor was outstanding. He was patient and kind, and seemed genuinely interested in my eye health. I also had a very positive experience with the staff who helped me pick out and fit my glasses. They were also outstanding , patient and fun.
I could only give this second experience with Mackay 4 stars because the front desk staff was really awful; they seemed annoyed to have to check me in, or out, and completely disinterested in any questions I had, and instead were bickering amongst themselves. If not for the strength of the rest of my experience, I wouldn't go back.

Dr. Engelhart was very helpful when I needed new contact lenses. He spent the time to ensure that I found the ones that were best for me. He was also patient and kind when my son got something in his eye during school recess. We were able to be seen immediately. I highly recommend this knowledgeable and professional optometrist!

I would like to review the doctors and staff at MacKay Vision Center. I visited the office as a new patient and saw Dr. Engelhart for my exam. I have to say that it was one of the best eye exams I’ve ever received and am so grateful I found this office. The staff was extremely welcoming from beginning to end, and I felt very comfortable through the whole process. I usually don’t like going to doctors offices, but this office is one of a kind! My family and I will now be patients for life. Thank you!
