Richard Gordon graduated with honors from Amherst College and completed medical school at the New York University School of Medicine. He interned at the Hospital of St. Raphael/Yale University School of Medicine and was chief resident in ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Wiliam J. Schwartz is a licensed ophthalmologist in New York with over 51 years of experience in the medical field. After earning a Bachelor of Science from Yeshiva University, Dr. Schwartz graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine with a medical degree in 1969.
After graduation, Dr. Schwartz completed an internship at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals Northshore Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Beth Israel.He then served for two years as the Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology for the United States Military Academy at the U.S. Army Hospital of West Point, NY.
After graduation, Dr. Schwartz completed an internship at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals Northshore Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Beth Israel.He then served for two years as the Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology for the United States Military Academy at the U.S. Army Hospital of West Point, NY.
Dr. Jyothis Abraham-Cohen is New York and New Jersey licensed therapeutic Optometrist. She is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry where she received a combined degree of Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science in Vision Sciences. During her education at SUNY, she was the recipient of merit scholarships.

I have been seeing Dr Gordon for over (10) years, always pleasant and professional and an excellent bed side manner. His assistants and technicians are very professional and courteous.
However, the front office has issues, my most recent visit on December 13th, 2021 @8:40am, I saw Dr Gordon and he prescribed a new prescription which he sent online to my local pharmacy. Now the drama begins:
December 13th. After 1pm. Called pharmacy to see if prescription is ready. Have not received prescription from Dr Gordon’s office, spoke to Jessica, (in front office) who said will leave a note to have prescription

The Dr said we'd be able to get cataract surgery done by January and didn't mention she was going on maternity leave. Scheduler knew I was being referred for cataract removal and still made my appt with someone who wasn't going to be available. Surgical scheduler was also office manager and was extremely rude.

The Greeting Staff were warm courteous. The office seating paced out to accommodate for COVID-19 and the air venting was working. The Testing Staff were polite and professional. Evelyn who schedules surgery was patient in listenig to my concerns. She reviewed my insurance with me, regarding what I've already paid into.and what's outstanding. Stacy, bless her heart, what a value to this practice. She tied up any other concerns I had before the up coming surgery. Excellent experience on Wednesday November 3rd.

I was not satisfied with the eye test. It was in my estimation not sufficient. Further in addition to the doctor's examination which I was charged for as part if the insurance cost, the office charged an additional $60.00 for producing a written prescription, plus a $4.99 service charge for I dont know what. I'm rather upset over the whole experience, and will have to go to another office for a more thorough examination, at which time I will be charged without any insurance reimbursement.

Quite annoyed to be charged $101 for a prescription once my appointment was over. No one (doctor or either of the 2 technicians ) mentioned during my exam that prescriptions cost extra. I got the distinct impression this is done routinely and purposefully so that patients are encouraged to get prescriptions whether they are really necessary or not. (Mine was not). Wish I had paid more attention to other reviews that point out this office charges for many extras before I made the appointment.

I had a great experience with Dr. Gordon and his staff. From the consultation to the post procedural appointment, everyone was kind, informative, and professional. They explained all I needed to know and answered all my questions. The procedure went smoothly and I could literally see the next day! I highly recommend the practice for your lasik needs.

THE TÈAM AND DOCTORS W3RÈ VERY FRIÈNDLY AND CARING... IN NOV. AND DEC. OF 2016 I HAD ULCERS ON MY CORNIAS IN BOTH EYES.. I COULD HAVE WENT BLIND OR NEEDED CORNIA TRANSPLANTS. THE DOCTORS HAD ME GOING EVERY 2 DAYS FOR A MONTH TILL THEY NURSED MY EYES BACK TO HEALTH...I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE...

Been a patient of Dr. Gordon for years and now it's time to get my cataracts taken care of. Between the time of my surgical consult and now (surgery tomorrow), the team at Ramapo Ophthamology has really great.
