A cataract is a common condition that causes a clouding of the eye's natural lens, and affects millions of people each year, including more than half of all Americans over the age of 65. Cloudiness develops as a result of a buildup of protein in the lens. Routine eye exams are absolutely essential in not only maintaining clear vision but to also protect the health of your eyes.

A wide variety of tests and procedures are utilized in order to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to complex tests, such as using a high-powered lens to visualize the tiny structures inside of your eyes. A comprehensive eye exam can take an hour or more, depending on the number and complexity of tests required to fully evaluate your vision and the health of your eyes.
Thanks to advances in optical technology, almost everyone can now wear contact lenses, regardless of the type or extent of their vision problems. Unlike glasses, contact lenses move with your eyes so you can enjoy a larger field of vision with fewer distortions. You also don't have to deal with frames hovering in your peripheral vision or external lenses that fog up on cold days or get wet in the rain.
Patients with diabetes are at an increased risk of developing eye diseases that can lead to vision loss and blindness, such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and glaucoma. In fact, diabetes is actually one of the leading cause of blindness in the United States. I have been seeing Dr. Marceline for many years now and cannot say enough good words about her & the staff at Hudson Ophthalmology. From the way she handles my care, to how she works with me to find the most appropriate but also more affordable medication, to the way she communicates, she is absolutely excellent. Her staff is very responsive and professional as well. I trust her medical judgement & my eyes have been better for it.

On November 19th Dr. Marcellin of Hudson Ophthalmology and her office staff scheduled an appointment for me to have a stye removed from my eye. When I made the appointment I was asked if the stye was effecting my vision. I said it was. Because it was the week before Thanksgiving, I understood i couldn't get the appointment until Dec. 2nd.
Three hours before the appointment they called and said the doctor had an emergency and they had to cancel my appointment for today. Ok again I understand that, everyone has emergencies. My problem was the office wanted me to wait another 8 days until they had

Hudson Ophthalmology has been so wonderful. I first started coming here because I moved in the area. I went in for a routine check up and Dr M discovered that none of my previous eye doctors picked up on my glauocma. Dr M is now treating my glauocma and I feel very confident in her abilities. She is smart, thorough, sincere, caring and very kind. I am so happy I found this place. The staff is so accommodating, courteous and caring. The facility is also super clean. The billing and check in/check out is so impressive, easy and no issues. I recommend Hudson Ophthalmology.

Spent the month of July with Hudson Ophthalmology and each time was pleasant. The ladies in the front were friendly and welcoming.
Dr Marcelin is a brilliant physician, she is extremely knowledgeable & quite personable she took her time to explain every procedure being done and did not rush. Her Techs work side by side with her, she seems to make a day at work very interesting for her staff, explaining all she is doing.
