The Grind Cafe
The Grind Cafe started out as a neighborhood cafe in the Lower Haight with a simple goal - to consistently serve a fresh product with the best quality ingredients. Over 18 years later, we are proud to be a staple in the community and we can say that the quality of our food, made with honest ingredients, has paved the way.

We offer an extensive menu of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, burgers and of course - premium roasted coffees. Come in and join us for your favorite meal of the day and experience a delicious part of San Francisco's Lower Haight history.

We had breakfast here this morning. Portions were generous and everything was very fresh. Staff were friendly. It's nice to get off noisy Divisedero Street and enjoy the quiet neighborhood.

We ordered pickup from this location. The staff were courteous and the food was ready very quickly for a Sunday. We both ordered the grind combo and tried to order a variety of their dishes to try a lot of the menu (pancakes, French toast, hash browns, and home fries.) Everything was just Ok...nothing special. They have a fairly large menu and maybe we caught them on an off day, but for the price it wasn't that great.

Cute cafe near Kelham Island. The cafe offers a very wide range of breakfast/brunch options. All the food we tried was delicious! Very popular, especially on the weekends, so I recommend coming early

Had a wonderful sausage roll. Large!
Busy place and can see why. We sat outside. Would definitely visit again. Really nice salads on display. Mmm

The Grind Cafe is consistently great. With a specials menu that is updated frequently and is always delicious, a broad selection of teas and coffees (including a specials drink menu), a large selection of cakes and treats, a diverse and tasty lunch/deli offering, and plenty of vegetarian options, I would highly recommend a visit.

Finally myself and my wife have found a cafe where we can have "a" breakfast. We have gone to a few places in Sheffield and never felt so happy to have a brunch. We South Indians feel that we have the perfect breakfast in the world. So it's hard to satisfy us with just a croissant and a coffee. It had to be a baconnaise with BLT and a simple hash with less salted ham (which wasn't greasy btw). Well thought-out dishes and friendly staff. We'll be going to this place often and update more here on our experiences.

Best place to have breakfast. Lovely staff and wonderful food with great flavours. I had porrage which was large and kept me going most of the day. Fantastic coffee. The only problem is this place is sometimes so busy there is a queue.

The whipped cream that came with my cold coffee was spoiled. I unfortunately had to throw my drink away. Definitely never coming back!

I’ve been to the Grind Cafe a couple of times before and the standard of the food has been inconsistent to be honest. Today’s visit was disappointing, £12.50 for a full English but with a slice of toast (not even sourdough like the menu suggested), a lone grilled mushroom and barely grilled tomato and a single poorly poached egg. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s unlike that I’ll be returning again :-(

How have I not left a review for The Grind? I used to live down the block but have since moved to a different neighborhood. While their service can be hit or miss, their food is awesome. Their breakfast burrito is the best I've had and their French toast is to die for! They also have great pumpkin, banana, and lemon breads! This is still THE place when I have a hangover, a bad day, or any other time I want some comfort food for breakfast.

Tip: ask for the potatoes inside the burrito instead of on the side!

Don't over think it. Best breakfast burrito in the city. I get mine with bacon and hash browns (hash browns are a lost art in sf) the cream, salsa, eggs and avocado are always evenly distributed.
Service is fast, beverage selection is good too.

My favorite cafe in Sheffield. Lovely and (usually) buzzing atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
Food is just amazing: it's healthy and delicious. I really like how inventive and unique the flavors are. Always enjoy a light meal there.
This is a place for meeting friends and having a lovely chat more than for sitting down to read a book with a cup of coffee.

Best. Place. Ever.

I can't name another place in SF that provides such fast, amazing service and still maintains reasonable prices. The staff actually seem to be happy to see guests and the food is on point every time. It never disappoints!! I can't recommend this place enough.

I come here often with my boyfriend to have lunch since I work close by but I'm tierd of getting cold stares by the older white lady who works here I'm sitting down like everyone else and I see her cold starring me down . She got loud with my boyfriend for no reason and made us feel unwanted I always feel unwanted . The other girls who work there are friendly and have good customer service expect the older white lady. I like the food here but I don't like being felt like I'm at the wrong place when I paid for my food and come here often.

I ordered a Lavender Iced Latte with oat milk and it was everything I was expecting and more. The lavender syrup was slightly sweet which was the perfect balance to the floral taste and it wasn't insanely heavy on the oat milk.

The baristas were also so nice and we bonded over our love of everything floral in drinks. Highly recommend stopping by for some coffee or a fresh pastry!

Arrived here around 4 pm on a Sunday in desperate need of my caffeine fix. I was informed that they were no longer serving food, which was fine because that isn't what I came here for. They served me up a cup of ice coffee with milk in a timely manner. It was really good coffee with a nice flavor with just a bit too much milk but it was still really good.

Sorry-no commentary on the food but thought it might be helpful to know that they stop serving food earlier in the day.

Great brunch spot. Went on a Saturday morning around 11am and found tables right away. Filled up quickly after. Has a nice parklet and additional front patio for outdoor dining. The grind combo was a great amount of food. Hash browns were amazingggg.

A good spot for breakfast burritos after some typa night. The burrito is always hot and packed full of goodies. They're kinda skimpy with hot sauce and ketchup right now. And the potatoes aren't super flavorful. But all in all the burrito is always yum and brings me lots of joy.

Plenty of wood and natural decoration inside the recently renovated Grind Cafe. The menu is hearty and high quality without being fussy, the food is great and reasonably priced.
There is a some outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating. Service is friendly and efficient.
