Fortezza Winery is a small estate of 12 acres located in the beautiful rolling Sierra foothills of Auburn California, near California's Gold Country. We are growing the "other" Sierra gold. Here at Fortezza we are committed to giving personal attention and special care to each and every vine. We planted our vineyards in 2006 with Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Primitivo and Viognier wine grapes.
They have thrived in our warm climate. We are proud to present the wine from our estate grown vineyard to you this year. We have wine barrels for sale! Please contact us for inventory availability. Unfortunately, we are closed for the winter/spring 2018 season but plan to open Summer 2018. Please check back with us soon!

Services
Inspired by the rich agricultural history of our region and our love of wine making we have created a unique wine-tasting experience in the foothills of Placer County. We are focused on hand-crafted limited-production wines and we are pleased to showcase our passion for the craft with you in the elegant and tranquil setting.
Fortezza has a long history of farming. Since 2006, our grapes have been growing in our fertile soil. Our vineyards are planted with Italian and French varieties of wine grapes. With a climate that mirrors the southern Mediterranean, we can easily ripen our grapes to perfection. We are committed to protecting the honored tradition of farming.
Our Primitivo is a bold, full bodied wine to be enjoyed with a hearty meal. We grow a version of Zinfandel here at Fortezza, a Primitivo; an Italian or Spanish version of Zinfandel. This amazing small (petite) dark Bordeaux grape produces very full bodied tannic spicy wines. Is not for the faint of heart.

Wonderful little winery and tasting room. The ambiance is so friendly and dog friendly! The wines are awesome. We bought a bottle of the Sangiovese and it was so good! There is an awesome patio with a view that you can enjoy when the weather is nice. Honestly, just a very laid back atmosphere with great wines. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in Auburn.

I love Lisa and this amazing little gem on the Placer wine trail. They have mainly italian wines, which is not really my glass of wine so to speak, but the tasting room is great, theres a dog walking around which is nice, theres a lake next door, there is a spot outside to bring a picnic, so all in all its a great little venue. Wines are very reasonably priced, and you might even have to label your own bottles which is kinda cool too.
