712 is a contemporary American restaurant named for the area code in which it exists. Our menu of mostly scratch made recipes features as much locally grown produce and natural, locally sourced proteins as we can get. The bar offers 23 craft beers on tap, numerous bottle selections as well as craft cocktails and sodas, a wine list and prosecco on tap!
Using the concept that details are the difference between good and great, our goal is to offer warm hospitality, exceptional service and quality ingredients in a lovely atmosphere. Our 44 foot mural by Gerard Pefung, boasts images of Council Bluffs in an effort to pay homage to this place that we are proud to call home.

We chose this restaurant based on reviews (and large craft beer menu options). When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly hostess and so many of the customers were smiling (which I think is a good sign). Our server, Devon, was awesome. He seemed sincere when offering his recommendations for food. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic (thank you to the kitchen staff!)!! We would definitely come back.

An excellent local restaurant! Beat the National Chains when in Council Bluffs with a stop at this very nice local restaurant. We had the burger with fries and side salads. The ground beef was cooked just as requested and was very fresh as was the salad. Had a margarita also. It was a little light on the alcohol. Overall a place I can recommend hardily! Bonus, easy access to the interstate!

I finally got the chance to try the sibling restaurant of 402 eat + drink over in CB and had a very tasty meal.
We had excellent service, and we were really surprised that our server had only been there a week. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and had an easy confidence about him. He definitely improved our experience. :)
The Cuban sandwich was delicious, with nice touches like the house pickles and whole-grain mustard. The fries were under-seasoned and not very crispy, kind of a disappointment. My dining partner ordered the seafood pasta and we both talked about how well-balanced and

First, I should say is that I'm a healthcare worker and support mask wearing. I'm disappointed that all the staff (specifically the bartender, who was all over the place) were not wearing masks. Our server (i think her name was Allie) was fantastic! Loved her! The food was meh. Which was disappointing since we had heard such great things. Hopefully it was just an off night for them.

Wow! I wasn't expecting much going to this place, even though I've seen some of the reviews and the foodie photos. We were pleasantly surprised how good everything we ordered was.
First, they have a decent selection on their drink menu. Just had to try their Hair of the Dog (bloody Mary) drink....it was good, somewhere in the middle of the pack compared to others that I've had.
Second, their dinner menu listed some really good options; enough to make you second guess what you want to try. I got a different sandwich (Cubano) than what I ordered (Shorty Melt), but thankfully..

I got the Korean Stir Fry and loved it. It had the right ratio of spice to flavor. I felt like the portioning of it was great too! The side of fries were good. My husband liked the meat and potatoes for his Valentines Day special, but unfortunately the sauce had split so it was very oily. Definitely plan on coming back and trying other items on the menu.

Omaha Restaurant Week led us across the Missouri River for date night Friday...and I'm so glad it did. It was a gorgeous night so we opted to sit on the patio.
Since it was Omaha Restaurant Week we decided to partake in the 3 course menu. The restaurant week menu offered variations of several regular menu items as well as some choices that weren't on the regular menu. I had the Lobshrimp and Grits which featured an addicting creole sauce that paired well with the shrimp and grits.
Finally, we ended our meal with 2 desserts that I will forever be craving. The Mezcal infused bread pudding

Came around 3:30pm on Wednesday. We were only customers at that time, but people began arriving shortly after. First thing you will notice is how clean and modern the decor is and that the atmosphere still gave a laid back appeal. We were immediately greeted/seated by Tammy who was extremely nice and friendly bringing us water right away and telling us the daily special. She also pointed out one of her favorite menu items. We ordered the "Our Burger" w/fries, kids chicken strip and fries, along with two appetizers of buffalo wings and onion rings because it was happy hour. Everything was excellent
