Augusto Juarez, CSCS is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at the UFC Gym in Orlando, FL. Machete Fitness came from his given MMA nickname "Machete, " which in turn was derived from a '90s Philippine cult classic film of the same name. A lifelong martial artist, he started seriously training and competing in boxing and Yaw-Yan (Filipino kickboxing) after high school, eventually turning professional and transitioning into MMA.
After college he moved to the US and enlisted in the Army, serving five years as an Infantryman and a Paratrooper. He then moved to Orlando to attend graduate school at University of Central Florida.
