I don't get the hype at all! The food is okay, but really nothing special. The simit was overly sweet and disintegrated, the morning bun texture was totally off, the baklava is a joke, very rough and overly glazed and not the real thing. It's like passing a bread bun for a croissant. If you factor in the price point that's 2x to 3x average, the atmosphere that's really off, the over-the -top packaging and the orientalist names that are just ridiculous (as a middle eastern myself, the adding tahini or orange blossom to names really cracks me up), you wonder why so many people

Sofra's food is as excellent today as it was 10 years ago when I first gave it five stars.
But I was shocked today (December 2021) to find that they are not taking full COVID precautions. Sure, both the hard-working staff and the customers are masked, but why do they allow so many people into this tiny space at a time? Why don't they limit the indoor ordering line to, say, 5 people, and then have people wait outside for their order to be ready?
For that matter, it's a pity that they've discontinued online ordering. I'll guess that their operational systems weren't up to managing the volume, but

Half-decent food; terribly-run place.
First thing to know: there's no indoor seating, so if you want to enjoy your food somewhere, be prepared to sit in the freezing cold outside. Second thing: everything is to-go, even if you're "dining in"--the amount of packaging waste here is criminal.
For food, we ordered the mezze platter, the lamb shawarma, and the chicken couscous salad. The mezze and the salad were already prepared, just sitting in the case. For the mezze (for $11), there were 1/4 c. scoops for each of the items and the whole thing didn't even come with the crackers

Absolute gem in our community! Love Sofra for fresh food and provisions. Visits here are a highlight of the week! Everything they make is consistently delicious and interesting. All of the pastries they make with their crossaint dough taste like a gift from the heavens. The NY Times only highlighted what every local already knew -
Sofra is fantastic!

We have Turkish style breakfast and Börek. Borek was tasty as Turkish ones. Borek is a filled soft pastry with cheese. Give a chance. You'll love it. But Turkish style breakfast was disappointment. I had breakfast in Turkey hundreds and thousands times and this one is not anywhere near. One of the other 2 cakes in the picture was filled with almond and nothing special. Other one is simple as well. Waited in the line for 40 mins at 10.30 a.m on Sunday.

Now I understand the rave reviews. Well worth the long line and wait. The baked items are out of this world! Perfect flavor blend of ingredients, not too sweet, setting off a titillating sensation for the taste buds. Savory dishes were also excellent but not as consistent in being exceptional like the baked items.

Heard of this place as I was visiting the city. As soon as I arrived, there was a huge line to get in. I wanted to still try it.
The long wait was absolutely worth every second of it. Once you go into the store, you will want to buy everything because it all looks delicious.
The staff is so sweet and work hard to make sure your order gets out as fast as possible.

Huh, I didn't review Sofra? It's an amazing place to be sure - really cool baked goods, and pre-packaged and premade foods as well. Some of the items are "twists" of other items, such as the muhammara. The stuff is a bit pricey - for muhammara, you can get really good stuff (for cheaper, greater quantities) at Arax or any number of other markets down the street. Along the same lines, I do think the place signals gentrification with its sleek wooden interior, and fancier goods. I do wish the seemed more welcoming to a wider socioeconomic base. Nonetheless, kudos to the owners

There are too many delicious options to choose from, plus the staff is very friendly despite being so busy. We went on a Sunday morning and it was very crowded, so you have to be prepared for a long line, but it's worth it. Everything is so good. We ordered shakshuka, turkish style breakfast, simit and turkish au lait. Everything was great!

You can get breakfast and your lunch/brunch at this place. They have great pastries and sweets along with savory pita wraps. They also have a little grocery that sells spices, teas, and even cookbooks. The outdoor seating is a little cramped but it's also a nice place to take out. Even on a Sunday morning the wait wasn't too long. They keep things moving.

SOFRA is a Bakery and Cafe by Chef Ana; the same Chef feathered at Oleanas. Known for her incredible culinary abilities, control of flavours, and quality of foods I went in with a high bar for standards. SOFRA has all the hallmarks of superior quality and freshness.
The Syrian Shortbread is beautifully made, and crumbles perfectly in your mouth. The Turkish Coffee is brewed strong and perks you up, featuring quality coffee which I speculate is freshly ground. Additionally their selection of spices and other culinary items is amazing featuring some fiery culinary forward items that show character

A must stop if visiting Boston and a great treat to the locals. Sofra has wonderful Turkish breakfast, incredible pastries (try one of the seasonal biscuits), and tasty drinks (I get the cappuccino and Red Dragon iced tea. You can enjoy a delicious lunch here or take food home from their prepared foods case.

A friend had highly recommended this bakery. I decided to check it out in the evening, an hour before closing time. There was a lineup when I arrived. Due to covid, you aren't allowed to go into the store, but they have a booth where you can order. There is lots of outdoor space to dine in.
The line moved pretty fast. Taking one star off because pretty much everything (all the pastries) were sold out. I decided to try to the iced chai and the tahini chocolate tart.
The chai was very sweet for my taste but after a few sips you get used to it. The tart - I was a little surprised at the small

Highly recommend Sofra! Their ice cream, pastries, and savory foods are delicious! Their frozen labne with sesame pistachios was the best ice cream I've ever had! I check their menu regularly online to look for that ice cream but sadly I've only seen it offered once. Excellent customer service as well. My only criticism is that some things seem very overpriced for the quantity. Overall though, the food is so good it usually justifies the price and I probably make a visit to Sofra once a week.

We came on a Friday afternoon after visiting the Mount Auburn cemetery. Ordered the meze platter and the lamb shawarma.
The meze platter was delicious especially the baba ghanoush and tahini hummus.
The lamb shawarma was a surprising favorite! The wrap was fried and tightly wrapped the shredded lamb. Yogurt sauce was much needed to balance the spices.
Walnut baklava wasn't too sweet and a perfect afternoon snack.
Highly recommend this place!

Dropped by around noon on Sunday this past weekend. There was a line; you get in the same line whether you want to order in-person or you're there to pick up an online order. You cannot currently enter the store at all; they've set up a small window that you step up to. The staff is behind plexi-glass and they were wearing masks. Customers are also required to wear masks and they have markings on the sidewalk so that you maintain distance from others while standing in line.
