Dr. Frank Zheng is a proud Bay Area native, whose passion for optometry started at Lafayette Optometric Group as an optometric technician. Dr. Zheng's training began at UCLA, where he earned a BS in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics in 2009. He received his Doctor of Optometry in 2014 at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where he graduated at the top of his class with honors.

Our knowledgeable staff is more than happy to discuss your insurance benefits and coverage with you. Most vision plans are designed to cover your comprehensive vision exam with your designated plan co-pay.

Yearly comprehensive eye exams are essential to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious signs or symptoms. By diagnosing eye and vision conditions early, our optometrists are able to provide treatment options and, in many cases, restore or prevent vision loss.
Have an eye disease or condition you would like a second opinion about or are you looking for another doctor to manage your eye care? Our practice offers modern state-of-the-art facilities to provide specialized testing to diagnose ocular pathologies early on. We regularly utilize our humphrey visual field (HVF), optical coherence tomography (OCT), retinal camera, OPTOs, and corneal topographer to complement our patient care.

Such a great experience! Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and kind. The whole team, from Dr. Zheng to the INCREDIBLY patient woman (whose name I can't remember) who helped me pick out (very cool) frames was super attentive and made me feel really well-cared for. Would recommend these guys to anyone!!!

New sunglasses 😎. Oooooh yeah. I’ve wanted prescription sunglasses for years but never got around to getting a pair. After my eye exam I finally ordered a pair as a birthday present to myself.
I’ve known many doctors over the years and I have to say that Dr. Zheng at Lafayette Optometric Group is truly a top quality physician.
I wouldn't be doing this review justice without mentioning the staff. They are friendly, helpful and have great smiles. Definitely a feel good experience.

I can not say enough good things about this office! From the very first person who greets you at the door to the last person who fits you with glasses are truly amazing. Dr Frank Zheng truly cares and takes such good care of his patients. The entire team is so nice and you really leave happy!! I highly highly recommend!!

This is a fabulous practice!!! Dr. Ngo is super smart and great at what she does. She took her time examining my eyes, was very thorough and answered all my questions. I had a number of concerns about my eyes and she talked to me about all my issues with respect and kindness. She went the extra mile to review my old scans to see how some of my eye issues were progressing. The gal at the front desk is great too- very welcoming and explained my bill in great detail because it was the first time I was using Medicare. The gal who did the eye scans before I saw the doctor was very competent and friendly

I saw an add for Tom Ford Sunglasses in GQ. I knew my optometrist had a boutique line of frames. I contacted her about a specific frame and she was able to order it for me. I visited the clinic today. These Tom Ford are perfect! I’m grateful my doctor too an extra step to find me just what I wanted.

Dr. Ngo and her staff are amazing and wonderful! This was the best optometry experience I've ever had. Dr. Ngo is very thorough and takes the time to explain things and go in-depth with the examination. She is also very kind and sweet, and a true pleasure to work with.
During my exam, she found a pre-existing condition I've had with my eyes, and because she understood VSP benefits, she was able to get me enrolled in medically necessary contacts, which are provided free of cost ($10 copay) for an entire year! Just like that, because of her extra care and attention, she saved me hundreds of dollars

I feel so fortunate to have found Lafayette Optometric Group after struggling with my vision for three years due to a retinal detachment. Initially, I met Dr. Ngo, who spent an inordinate amount time with me explaining why I was having so many problems with my vision, and she gave me options to help counter those challenges. Referring me to Dr. Zheng, another optometrist in that practice who specializes in Sclera contacts, was the option I chose.
