At Focus Eye Care, each member of our vision care team is selected by Dr. Thayer and Dr. Kleve based upon his or her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients. Our entire Waukee optometry staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of each and every patient.
Sherri has been with Focus Eye Care since the day we opened. She has many years of experience in the optical field and brings those skills with her to our office. Sherri truly fills all roles for us and is the first smiling face each patient meets upon arrival. Outside of the office Sherri enjoys being with her husband Andrew, and their daughter Lucy.

In order to make the transition to our office smoother for you, we have created a New Patient Center with everything you need to get started.
At Focus Eye Care, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our Waukee patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Dr. Lindsay Kleve's passion to become an eye doctor began when she was working at her hometown vision clinic in Denison, Iowa. From there she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa while also competing in track and field. She then went on to complete her doctorate with honors at the Illinois College of Optometry.

Definitely 5 star experience! Dr. Kleve and her assistant very helpful with my insurance and loved the frames Dr. Kleve help pick out with me! Loved the machine you used to check the health of my eyes! I have never seen my eyeballs like that before 😅 Dr.Kleve very knowledgeable. Your place beautiful! Will be back!!!

I felt very much at home while at Focus Eye Care. Very courteous, helpful and friendly staff. I sometimes have trouble moving from place to place, but both Dr. Thayer and his assistant were able to make this easier for me. I have been seeing Dr. Kleve for a couple of years and she is fantastic! She is energetic, knowledgeable, kind, informative, and more! Everyone who works here is helpful and friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable! They answer your questions about insurance and eye health and how that relates to your general health. Plus you can get in without waiting months and they have a machine to check your eyes without having to be dilated (there is an extra charge for this). I highly recommend Focus Eye Care!
