With over 20 years experience, I work with a broad spectrum of clients.
I provide a safe and supportive treatment environment to help clients to overcome obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Trust, empathy, and respect are key elements to a successful treatment. My style is interactive, empathetic and collaborative. I see each client as unique.

Thankfully I've always received wonderful mental health treatment when I've needed it. With Josephine, this was not the case. I was looking for EMDR to help with a recurring issue, and she could not provide it for me and actually left me feeling humiliated about my current life circumstances, which was awful.
She was extremely condescending in her approach; it was also a huge waste of money that would have been better spent with a more compassionate therapist, rather than declining to help me and still charging me for the session.

I have seen Josephine for a number of years and she is quite exceptional with an amazing range of items in her "tool kit", but, most importantly she is a very caring, empathetic, diligent and insightful professional. I have no doubt she is amongst the five or ten finest psycho therapists in NYC. I have recommended friends who have also found her to be amazing. I would certainly continue to recommend her - she is a really valuable resource for the community.

I find Josephine Ferraro to be a very caring and knowledgeable psychotherapist who has been practicing for over 20 years. She uses Integrative psychotherapy, which includes psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, clinical hypnosis and Somatic Experiencing. She is devoted to her work and creates a supportive environment for clients. She works in a dynamic and collaborative way with clients. She also continues to develop her clinical skills by attending clinical workshops and conferences.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for quality care.
