Endodontists are dentists who specialize in maintaining teeth through endodontic therapy - procedures, involving the soft inner tissue of the teeth, called the pulp. The word "endodontic" comes from "endo" meaning inside and "odont" meaning tooth. Like many medical terms, it's Greek. All dentists are trained in diagnosis and endodontic therapy, however, some teeth can be especially difficult to diagnose and treat.

Endodontics is one of the nine recognized specialty areas by the American Dental Association. This was my third root canal by Dr. Hancock and I never experienced any problems with the tooth once he did his work. I have had three previous root canals by different dentists so by comparison I can say Dr. Hancock is the best. His staff is great too! He uses the latest technologies and explains the process. The day after the procedure, I had no discomfort at all. Thanks to Connie for the reminders and dealing with insurance.

The office staff was professional and helpful. I love the fact that Dr Hancock uses a "dam" to keep the pieces of tooth from the drilling out of my mouth. They also have special glasses so I could watch a movie to take my mid off what was going on in my mouth. Dr Hancock was very patient with my questions and takes time with the patient to make sure everything is okay.

I was referred to Dr. Hancock for a root canal, but after imagery and an examination, it was determined that a root canal would not resolve my issue. Dr. Hancock was extremely polite, efficient, and conservative in his approach, and did not perform unneeded procedures. His staff was friendly and I felt very comfortable during my visit. While Dr. Hancock was not able to resolve my issue, I will be coming back should I ever need one of the services he provides. I have a great deal of confidence in his ability and his staff.

Oh, how I dreaded and feared getting a root canal yesterday! But Dr. Hancock and his Dental Assistant, Raney, took good care of me. No pain during the procedure! Just a good measure of kind thoughtfulness and impressive professional skill! Watching a movie during the procedure was a nice distraction and helped the time pass. Front desk staff was accommodating and friendly and very adept handling my paperwork and insurance. I’ve already recommended this practice to two of my friends.
