First, we want to be safe. This means we look for dangerous wiring, mold, asbestos, blocked furnace flues, water heater safety valves, vermin infestations, broken steps, unsafe decks, flammable dryer vents and those types of items. Second, we want to be stable and sound. This includes a good roof, level floors, solid foundation.
Many people are confused on what to do when they find mold in their home. There's a lot of conflicting information online, none of it very definitive on what exposure to high concentrations of mold can do to you and your family. Let us help you understand what you are facing in clear, plain language; what are the risks?
In New York State, the law requires mold remediation professionals to work with licensed mold inspection and testing firms when performing any kind of mold removal project. Many licensed mold inspection companies do only that - confirm what you already know. Haven goes beyond that to provide you with complete start to finish oversight of the project.
Maintaining your required continuing education credits unfortunately always seems to be a last-minute thing and low on your priority list. We have scheduled CEC courses throughout the Northeast and you can attend what applies to you and fits your work schedule. Joe Battisto thoroughly inspected our house and performed air quality tests. He was very helpful explaining what he was looking for and educating me about the process. He sent me the results and told me the air quality was fine . He was willing to do a formal report and charge me but he gave me the option. We were very satisfied with the service we received and would highly recommend Haven Environmental.

Excellent experience- home inspection all encompassing and report very easy to follow and understand. Haven Environmental also did a couple of mold assessments- is it mold,? what needs to be done? etc... Great input and explanation of mold and helped my two homeowners immensely as they ventured into the real estate market. Highly recommend Haven Environmental!

I was in the process of selling my home. Prospective buyer said their initial inspection showed mold in my basement and was asking for a $10,000 credit. I immediately called Haven for a thorough assessment. Haven's inspection showed there was no mold in my basement and had unusually low humidity. I knew it was never damp in the basement and never had water in the basement, but I did not have a professional opinion on that. Joe at Haven Environmental was the most responsive and cost effective home inspector in the area quoting me a price bellow competitors well before they even responded. When I did move forward with Joe he was punctual and respectful in scheduling getting it done within a week while working around my schedule.
