Nice people and we really enjoyed their wines. Beautiful view!
Update! Just went back a 5 stars to 2. Wines are now bad and the wine maker argued that my pallet was to sensitive. Done with this place!

Wonderful experience picking apples, beautiful farm and friendly staff. You can pick your own apples and if you get tired complete your box with the bins inside the entry building, they also provide you with a fruit picker. Friendly staff, and other apple related products as jam for sale

Although it was too late in the season for u-pick apples, they still had delicious apples to purchase without the work. The staff were very welcoming.

There was a small food stand, Sierra Rizing, that had the best apple grilled cheese. Plenty of tables with views that we stayed a while.

We had a wonderful time at Smokey Ridge. We were able to pick our own apples which was a blast. Also, because it is a smaller orchard it is not as jammed pack do we were able to stroll freely through the orchard. It was so peaceful. Afterwards, they even have freshly baked pies for a nice little snack. My kids had a great time.

Literally, the freshest apples on the hill. This farm actually picks apples every day! They do not use cold storage. Their apples are a must for my apple pies. This is my third year buying apples from this ranch, and I love the friendly service.

Okay not a big establishment but definitely worth a stop. Their wine was so much better than the tasting I had at a nearby location. Enjoyed their Rose and I'm usually not a fan of rose. Liked their Sangiovese, and Zinfandel. Purchased a bottle of Syrah. Pair this with the vegetarian charcuterie board .... omg. Excellent pairing. The vegetarian board has some delicious high quality cheeses and ingredients. (There were roasted garlic cloves, pears, figs, crackers bread olives hummus mmmmm) Very worth it. Also the triple berry pie and the apple fritter are AMAZING!!! Sweet but not too sweet

Wow this place is amazing.
Best winery in the whole town!!! Not super fancy either and was so relaxing and authentic. The family running it is so sweet and the wine jelly is to die for. Please stop here and check them out if your near placerville. They are also affordable and tough can bring your own lunch. It truly is the best winery I have ever been to!!!
Was my favorite part of my birthday weekend and we will definitely be back soon!!!!!!!!!!!

This was such a great place to have as our apple hill excursion. The description from the site was perfect--it was relaxing and chill. The customer service was exceptional. They were so kind, the lunch was delicious! It was a family friendly and safe environment. There was rustic and antique farm equipment and readily available stories and history which was warmly welcomed. The Apple tasting and conversation with the proprietors was really enjoyable. We had our little kids with us and they were friendly and safe. They could wander around and we didn't have to worry about them being picked

Very high quality wines. We always stop here when in Placerville. The owner, who does the taatings, is also the winemaker and is super friendly. Tastings are free and bottles are reasonably priced. They also have jam and apple tastings. Highly recommend making this a part of your tasting tour!

The atmosphere was ok, except the tasting area was located where there was no breeze at all. The tasting room hostess had a lot of knowledge of the area, but not so much of the wines. Compared to others around, I left with little knowledge about how this winery/farm game about.... which is half the experience.

Smokey Ridge Ranch is a small family owned operation that grows wine grapes, chestnuts, 17 varieties of apples, olives, figs, pears and pumpkins. They hand make preserves, condiments, wine, hard apple cider and custom sausages.

Whenever I go to Apple Hill this is the first and sometimes the only place I stop. I really enjoy their apple selection (I LOVE the Mutsu and Winesap and recently enjoyed the Arkansas Blacks), the apple cider mustard is to die for and their wine has a great body (can't go wrong with any varietal!).

Will definitely be returning soon!

In the Apple hill area, great for meats. Right off the road, easy access. Miniature donkeys are on the property and fun to watch.

I've enjoyed Smokey Ridge's fruit and family-run farm vibe for years but the WINES push it over the top. Amazing stuff coming out of an unassuming barn on a beautiful piece of land.

Stopped by a few weeks ago, did some tasting, bought 3 bottles of wine. Opened the Sangiovese tonight to have with our homemade enchiladas - WOW! It is a nice wine but pairing it with all these spices?! It came alive. Going back to get some more.
