As an out of towner I stopped in for some Stans as I had a slow leak. I understand the bike business is likely a tough one, but not a ton of friendliness here. I didn’t have my tools with me on the trip and asking for a core remover felt pretty offensive to the mechanic running the shop.
I like to think cyclists are a tribe and in a pinch if someone’s out of town without a tool and has their bike right there – something as simple as a core removal tool - at a shop where I just purchased Stans - seems like a happy assist.

Called for a tune up. They didn't have availability, but were super helpful in offering tips and referrals.

Good service , on time and at a good labor rate . I highly recommend this place, just call first to set an Appojnment .

Fast and great service. Friendly staff. Box to build was basically same day, and the staff were more than willing to answer any and all questions, as well as give a tutorial on the new shifters on the bike.

They fixed one of the wheels of my stroller in within an hour.
Although I couldn't pick it up on that day..(I felt the pressure that I had to pick up asap) I guess they work and fix fast. Have to see how the new wheel goes.

Took two older “run hard and put away wet” bicycles to them for refurbishment. Expected a couple of weeks and mega bucks. One day for one and 1 1/2 days for the other! Much less expensive than I expected. They did not try to up-sell me; actually suggested less work based on their assessment. Professional, courteous and competent. Bikes came out great! Small shop, so they focus on velocity rather than volume. Awesome.

I had a great experience! Just needed a little fix and they were able to do it in under 20 minutes! Gave great advice and were very helpful.

I was out for a lunchtime ride and realized I forgot my mask and I had a few stops to make where I'd need it. I stopped by to see if they sold any, which they did not. But the guy there went way out of his way and got me a fresh new one from his truck and just gave it to me.
He saved my life, possibly for real!!

Great turn around time for a road bike tune up. They even fixed a few issues that weren't supposed to be included and didn't charge any extra.

Disappointed with the job my local bike shop (which I had patronized for decades) had done on my old mountain bike ,so I called Sean, and his team had it ready the next day. He had listened to my problems, and fixed them. Bled brakes, replaced drive train, eliminated ghost shifting and the bottoming out of the brake handles. Service and performance couldn't be better. Worth the drive from Salinas to Monterey.

Took my bike in to have a track cog and lock ring put on, and the owner was rude. Both when I dropped off my bike, and when I picked it up. On top of that, when I was riding to my car, both the cog and lock ring came off. I didn't even make it 50 feet, this shop is an over priced joke.

Thanks for the air and brake and wheel adjustment! I highly recommend this shop! I just got a used bike snd did all I could with it. I brought it in and had the few things done. The mechanic was friendly and did the work quickly since there was no line. I wasn't charged but was asked to leave a few dollars for a tip!

Good experience for a bike tune up. Make sure you call to schedule for drop off/pick up, as they don't have a lot of storage. Very well priced and good work. Bike feels great after a tune up.

Quick stop to get an adaptor for my tubes while on vacation. Awesome place, easy to find, helpful staff.

Micah, thank you sincerely for your time and attention to adequately listening to my concerns and addressing the needs on my trash bike. I was not overcharged nor oversold parts and/or services not appropriate for my bikes issues; and in fact was steered away from investing more than was necessary. Micah was incredibly knowledgeable and down to Earth. Looking forward to supporting this great local business in the future.

Wonderful people they know bikes and most importantly what I love about them is that they don't replace things that don't need to be replaced and overcharge you.

Gotta laugh at my last experience. I can tell they deal with some responsive people. When I made a joke about coming back and they were worried I be worried if parts didn't work. I was actually saying about buying more things from there. But I can feel the stress. lol. These guys at this store are great.
Outside of the shop is a nice spot for lunch and to relax after a purchase. Plus they have a very nice team in shop. Again, I appreciate an alternative choice to the other shops that are tourist traps and annoying.

These guys are great! The got both our bikes up and running after being in storage for years. It took about four weeks for us to get our appointment but with Covid everybody has decided they need their bikes serviced so that's not a prob. We were happy to wait our turn. Once we had our appointment, it only took about 24 hours before we got our bikes back.

Outstanding assistance so far as a hopeful long term customer. I’ll be honest. The other spots in town are catered to wealthy people and judging others. Here. I get at least a clear answer.
I even made a mistake on my purchase and was well treated during a tricky time. Much appreciation for the folks.

I took my son’s bike in this evening for a tune-up and spoke directly with Micah, the owner. Micah told me there was no need for a tune-up, that he could make a few minor adjustments to the bike at no charge. Needless to say, I was highly impressed with his honesty and the way Micah runs his shop; I will definitely be a lifetime customer and recommend him to anyone who
asks.

Had a horrible experience at Rooster Wheels in Marina.
My daughter's bike sat unrepair for 3 weeks.
Dropped off bike on 6/6/20 and was told by owner (William) bike would be done in a week. Was given run around and unable to locate my bike in the shop. Rooster wheels phone is always a busy signal and can't seem to get in contact with anyone on updates. (Check my review on Rooster Wheels page for more details)
I picked up my bike today 6/27/20 from Rooster and of course it is

I was in dire need of help with my bicycle. Even though he was very busy, a co-owner of Peninsula Bike Works came to my rescue.

Why did I need help? I was able to change flat on my rear tire. The problem was I had turned the bicycle upside down to get the tire out. In so doing, the chain became tangled with 4 loops. Yikes!

But in less than 5 minutes, the co-owner had untangled the chain and had me on my way. I was very favorably impressed!!

I wholeheartedly recommend Peninsula Bike Works!

Legit! I needed specific spokes and nips, which are not available here in Australia. I was provided part number from the manufacturer and asked Peninsula Bike Works to order them for me. Sean, who obviously has quite a bit of experience, double checked the part numbers for my hub. Good thing too, because I was given the wrong part numbers from the manufacturer.

Sean looked up the correct parts, ordered them in, gave them to a friend of mine of mine who was able to bring them to Australia.

Disclaimer-I know little of specific modalities in the bicycling world. I ride a realllllly old Specialized Rock Hopper, but it works, and I think this place deserves a really fantastic rating for customer service, scheduling and quality of work.

I called around, scheduled an appointment and had our two bikes tuned within a day and a half. Fast, friendly, good location, good parking, and likely the cutest store mascot I've run into lately.

Truly a great experience helping me with my bike. The guys were knowledgeable, friendly and straight up with what I needed for my bike. I would highly recommend checking Bikeworks out for all your bicycle needs!

The guys here are knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful. They're willing to answer maintenance questions regardless of whether you end up DIY or leaving the bike with them. Left both of my bikes with them once, and was amazed by the turnaround time on both occasions. Good prices on both service and parts as well.

By far the best bike shop in town. The owners are knowledgeable and very nice. I needed help on my Bob stroller, thought I'd give them a shot. They fixed my stroller. I ended up buying a bike from them, and crashed it 2 weeks later. They restored it like new. Very professional!! 5/5 would recommend.
