Got mediocre service from the staff. Thanked them for my purchase as opposed to being thanked. Stood at the bike seats for 10 minutes, and the manager must’ve passed me three different times. Never offered his expertise or asked if I needed help. The store was empty. Took my business up to Epicenter bike shop on mission street. Was immediately walked through the door, and the gentleman that helped me was courteous, offered his knowledge, and nice as can be. Bought a $150 bike seat.

I've been a customer of this shop for about 18 years. this review is for their service department.
i had a brand new made to order steel frame that needed a chris king bottom bracket installed. the BB has a large cup size (threadfit 30) that requires a special tool....one that i didn't have at the time. they charged me $30 for the install.
i built my bike up and got half way up Emma. i heard the creaking and grinding from the BB and also started to feel it through the pedals. it was focking horrible and cringe inducing. i stopped to examine and found that both of the BB cups were

This shop is great! The staff is super helpful, polite and knowledgeable. They do not try to sell you something for the sake of the sale, they make sure that you are set up for what you need.
Their service dept is awesome. I send my bike there for the services and any repairs. I never feel like I am "mansplained".

I put a 10% deposit down on December 15 on a specific bike that I was told was on it's way, due late February or early March. My receipt has the remaining $ that was due upon arrival. I called on February 5 to get an update on the ETA. I was told it wouldn't ship until April 4 at the earliest. I was disappointed but trying to be flexible due to Covid. THEN Mike proceeds to tell me that I would now have to pay 5% more of the total cost AND an unknown amount for shipping due to recent issues. I don't even think it's legal and explained we had a contract and I would not

I purchased a jacket on 6/11/2020 on sale. I returned on 6/16/2020 to exchange it for a larger size. You did not gave it but offered to order it. I was told it would not be on sale. That seemed okay but then I was told I would have to pay an additional 10.00 service fee on top of that. This amounted to an additional $38.
I was told it would take a couple of weeks. I left a message on 7/13/2020 and then called on 7/14/2020 because I had not heard anything. When someone answered the phone I briefly told her why I was calling. She did not respond, she merely put the phone down on the counter

I've been going here for years for parts and other bike related supplies. However, I just brought my mountain bike here for a tune up. For $115, I have no idea what they actually did because the derailleur were still dirty and the one thing I asked them to do, which was to tighten all the joints, didn't get done. When I was checking out, I asked if there were any notes or suggested future maintenance- no notes. Also, after calling to check on it because I was eager to get back on my bike, they assured me they would call me. After 2 weeks, I finally called, and guess what- it was

We absolutely LOVE Bicycle Trip. It's the only place we purchase anything bike-related and go for service. Everyone is extremely knowledgable and friendly and they sell excellent products. We recently just purchased our daughters birthday bike and the staff was so nice and helpful in picking out an option that would last at least a couple years but not break the bank. They also give back to the community in so many ways I love to support them.

I knew nothing about new mountain bikes except they are expensive! Aaron has a gift for explaining the pluses and minuses to you without making you feel ignorant or stupid. I felt zero pressure to actually buy anything, but was encouraged to take several bikes for a spin for as long as I wanted. I did end up with a bike and it was expertly fitted to me. I love it and Bicycle Trip!!!

I've been commuting from scotts valley to Santa Cruz for the last few weeks on my bike. This evening in my way home I got an unexpected flat. These guys got it fixed quickly at the end of the day on a Saturday and got me back in the road despite having a hectic day. I'll be back for all my tune ups and my he t bike purchase.

Wanted to by a Giant bicycle as a gift. Bought the last one in San Jose, but we moved over the hill last year, and I wanted to support local business. Found that Bicycle Trip is a dealer, so went in to buy one.
Mike was at the counter. Really nice guy, but this is where the experience peaked. He said they didn't have the model I wanted in stock, but that I could use his computer to order one directly from Giant and have it drop-shipped, and that way, I wouldn't have to wait for their next bulk shipment or pay an expedite fee. A little extra hassle, but no big deal, so I did it.

Absolutely phenomenal service and people here! I came in with a bike that had been sitting in a garage for a couple of years that needed alot of work. They fixed it up beautifully and now I'm biking all-around Santa Cruz. Bobby went above and beyond in helping me mount an old bike lock in a place that wouldn't interfere in operation, as well as installing a new side mirror and bell. He made sure my bike was well cared for and all my questions were answered. Now they have a customer for life! I dont see myself driving much anymore when biking is this pleasurable.

I screwed up and put on a rotor that didn't match the mount distance for the caliper. Far from home when I discovered it, I wasn't able to remount the caliper, because the bolts were too long.
I went in here and asked if they had shorter bolts. They gave me a pair of take-offs on the house.
