In 2002, I was working in the chemical industry and lifting weights for exercise. Initially, I took yoga classes to alleviate the tightness in my back due to all the body building and long days of sitting in an office chair. I soon found that yoga not only helped alleviate the back stress and tightness in my body, but calm my overactive mind.
After a few months of yoga, I stumbled into Ashtanga. Thinking I was fit, I jumped into a full primary class. Boy was I surprised. By the end of the class I was covered in sweat and completely confused by what had just happened. However, as I lay in rest totally humbled I found a relaxing and soothing sensation wash over me.

Services
All payments for classes can be made via Venmo @Alissa-Shaneson. You may start whenever you like. The teacher will log into the session starting at 9am. The session will end at 10:30am so make sure you give yourself enough time to finish your practice, or to make sure I see as much of your practice as you would like me to help you with.

If you want to learn Ashtanga, this is a great place to learn.
I was first introduced to Yoga in 2005. I practiced vinyasa yoga at Satsang Yoga Studio in Westfield and really enjoyed going there. I stopped practicing yoga for a few years and exercised at the gym and at home. Unfortunately it was hard to stay motivated at home and the gym became expensive and uninviting for me. (Not a big fan of workout machines and people who grunt/slam weights down.)
I always had a love for yoga and after a recommendation from my cousin, I signed myself up for the Intro. series in September of 2014. Ashtanga

Nice straight forward ashtanga yoga place in a neighborhood in highland park.
We escaped the big city and stopped here for a morning Mysore class.
It was good there were only 8 people I think so Alissa , the teacher had time to assist everybody.
I like hands on assist and in certain poses she asked me if I would like to be assisted, that's great too, I don't want anybody to grab and twist just out of the blue.
Before our drop in, that was 17$ ( good price), she asked aswell if we had any injuries.
The studio is one room and they keep the temperature nice.
