The Loizides family wishes to welcome you to "a little piece of Greece in Southern California!" George's Greek Cafe has expanded from its humble beginnings as a delicatessen into three full-service, family restaurants in Downtown Long Beach, Belmont Shore and Lakewood. We also have a convenient location in the Long Beach Airport and our mobile kitchen allows us to bring the George's dining experience to you, wherever you are.
George's has remained a favorite among the locals for a few reasons: Our promise to provide fresh, delicious meals in a fun, relaxed atmosphere being one of them. We continue to follow Mama Rodou's recipes (which were passed down to her from her grandmother), we use only the finest imported ingredients: such as first cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Greece and premium, hormone-free, grass-fed lamb from New Zealand.

Great good, atmosphere and service. Perfect place to chill with some wine after a beach day in Long beach.
We asked for wine recommendations to go with our food and our server brought out three different wine for us to taste. I appreciated that so much since wine can be a huge hit or miss for individual's taste.
Gyro sandwich had so much gyro pieces... salad was amazing.
Beef kabob was small in portion.
Flaming cheese was way too salty and it came with even salter olives. Not my favorite but my sister liked it.

The staff has always been pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and not too heavy. Tried the srhimp kabaobs. I've previously ordered their chicken spinachi, it's my favorite. But, it's nice to try other items. The feta fries did not disappoint. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves. And, I had a nice walk home afterwards.

Amazing food! Amazing dips! I got the four dip appetizer of scordaila, hummus, tapenade, and eggplant. I ordered for my friend who is vegan and she could not stop eating the food. Neither could I. We ordered dolmas as well. They are so good. The vegetarian ones. I don't care for the meat ones from any establishment. I enjoy the rice filled ones. We had a celebration of friendship over delicious Georges Greek Cafe. Couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thanks George's!

We love the Greek Salad at George's Greek Cafe. The owner - Niki said it is her mom's recipe for salad & homemade dressing. I've been eating here almost monthly for probably the past 10 years. We've also enjoyed the lamb and a few other dishes, all exceptional. 2nd Street is always fun for lunchtime or in the evenings and with the added outside dining area curbside with heaters, brings the personality of Long Beach right to your table.
Their wait staff is friendly and fun to get to know.
Thanks Niki & Gabby for the great food & service the other day.

We want to LB for the Christmas boat parade. George's Greek Cafe is a must whenever we go to Belmont shore. The patio dining is awesome for people watching. The food came out quick and it was as perfect as expected.
The flaming cheese is always instagram worthy as well.
Wait staff was very competent and attentive.
Overall really enjoyed the experience and will go back next time we are in town.

I was in town for the day and had seen an excellent carry-out business, so that I would give it a try. I had a gyro sandwich with salad. All I could taste was the pita. The meat had minimal flavor, and the tzatziki thought plentiful was not much better in the flavor. The salad had hard, unripe tomatoes for 16 $. this place would be a pass.

5/5: $40 Lambchop entree: I asked for no lemon and they were able to honor my request. Their rice is silky and fluffy. Unfortunately, I don't understand the chopped side veggies of ashy carrots, broccoli, and peas. The veggies seem like they came out of a sad elementary cafeteria lunch line (does not need to be on plate).
3/5: SCORDALIA: Mashed Potato, Fresh Garlic, Lemon Juice, and Olive Oil. It tastes like a sour hummus. No potatoes flavor or resemble.
5/5: Galatoboureko Dessert:
Layered filo dough stuffed with a custard cream filling and topped with a honey syrup. This is amazing when

One of my most favorite places to come and eat, especially lamb and lamb chops (medium to medium-rare). In my opinion, now one does better lamb chops than this place here in SoCal. The stuffed salmon is a unexpected surprise but without a doubt, try at least once to come on a Friday and order the Kleftico or Saturday for live music.
P.S. I'm not paid to do this, I just really love this place, been coming on and off for over a decade.

Really a cute spot on second street! Really yummy food, I'm a pita bread and hummus kinda gal. My server was Sara, she was excellent! She greeted us right away and sold me on a glass of McManus with the lamb chops it was SO good, highly recommended. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable, paired my wine and entree perfectly! I received my food as soon as it came out of the kitchen it seemed! Cool place to sit and people watch as well!
Defiantly will be coming back here and DONT FORGET ask for Sara!

I had remembered it being good in the past.
But our chicken kabob plate was super dry and small (never saw this size of chicken kabobs before. I almost thought it was kofta. Even fast food spots like zankou don't do this). The steamed veggies that came with it seemed like frozen veggies out of the bag.
Rice was good.
Lamb chops were the best part but open sesames are way better for the same price.
Service was pretty good.
Just definitely not worth the price for the meal.
Like the last reviewer said, you are better off at taco shore next door.
Fries not that crispy either.

The service and the food quality went down hill. We really loved eating at this place especially after a good workout paddle boarding. The last couple time we ordered a Greek Salad with chicken it seem like they took premade salad out of the bag with some day old dry chicken and put it on a plate. We should of thought something was wrong when no one was there eating except for us. The manager said he was sorry for the bad food and service but did nothing about it.
We ended up eating
next door at the Mexican food place and that was EXCELLENT!!! I think the Georges Greek in getting ready to close

We were going down to Long Beach to see a concert and a friend's sister recommended this restaurant, so we said why not, none of us have had Greek food in a while.
Good thing we had reservations because the outdoor dining was packed, and we were able to get a table for 8.
To start, Corey was a great server. He answered all questions, made certain that all the variations of menu items were changed (for example no dairy, fries well done, etc.).
I needed to send back a sandwich because the cook didn't take the dairy off, and Corey took it with no problem, apologized and a few minutes

I dined at this restaurant for the first time after a bike ride in Belmont Shore. The friend that I went with lives in Long Beach and she has eaten there several times. We both ordered the Greek salad and I picked the gyros for my protein and my friend had the flat iron steak. Kevin, our server, was kind enough to give me a sample of both types of gyros-- their traditional lamb and beef gyros and also chicken gyros which I had never had before. BOTH were excellent! I was so happy when Kevin said that I could have half and half on my salad. when the manager found out that it was my first visit

The food here is always good. I went with a group of 8 people, someone from my group had called ahead the same day and made a reservation. As soon as I arrived, the table was ready. The staff members were friendly and checked on the table frequently.
I ordered the gyro plate and added the garlic feta fries. The portions here are huge! The plate was overflowing with food! The gyro meat was tasty and not greasy at all. The garlic feta fries were so yummy and a great addition to the food.

It's not just about the food (which is fabulous), but the atmosphere and staff make this place feel like home. It's so welcoming and the food tastes like it's made with love.
I've been coming here for years (since I used to live in LB), but since moving to a new city, I still make the trek down here to enjoy my favorite go-to meal. The gyro meat it tasty and well seasoned. The kalamari (yes thats how they spell it) has the perfect seasoning to squid ratio. The dipping sauces are also great.
The salad is so crisp and flavorful. And they give you a heaping amount, which I

Service: 5 out of 5
Service is absolutely fantastic! 10/10 would recommend! The cheese dish is put on fire at the table and served. We were instructed to yell "Opa!" when then the cheese was lit on fire, but we totally missed the cue, but it's OK, because it was so cool to watch. In passing, I had mentioned it was my birthday weekend and the kind, friendly server offered me a glass of complementary wine and brought out a birthday

Quick service and great food! I ordered online on Saturday around 5pm and was notified within 10 mins that my food was ready for pickup. When I got there I went to the outdoor table and gave them my name and they got me my order. It looked pretty busy so I'm impressed at how quickly they got my order. Friendly customer service especially from Jeremy S!
I ordered the lamb chop and fries. My in laws who have never had Greek food before were taken aback by the aroma and wanted to try it next time, so there will definitely be a next time. :)

I’ve been coming to George’s for over 15 years. I love the food and the staff is amazing. They have the best lamb chops I’ve ever had in the US! They get the lamb from New Zealand. The Friday special is always a good bet and super flavorful. When I lived closer, I was eating here 2-3 times a week. It is that good!!
