I've lived here for 3 months already and I'm loving everything about this place. The complex is nice and there are many events for every month that residents can attend and enjoy. The maintenance team work ethic is superb. This is something the other apartment complexes should learn from.

I have lived here for 4 months & love everything about it. They are always available to help & assist. The maintenance team is awesome they always have come the day that I input a work order & are always super kind & time efficient. The amenities at this place are what drew me here & are probably what are going to keep me here. Every single staff member is committed to making each and everyone feel valued & appreciated at this apartment complex.

Good rates for the quality of living that you receive. You receive free parking when you sign a lease. Management offers free coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the club house. Management also hosts a handful of events every month. I can use the gym inside the club house for push/pull day, however it is a little difficult to get a good leg day workout in there. The pool is made to look like a resort style pool, and is quite relaxing. Apartments come furnished with individual leases, internet and cable is included.

I’ve only been here for a few weeks and I love it. It was a easy process and a happy one as well to sign the lease, and even move in. They do great weekly activities, I personally love to go to. The computers, workout area and the pool are awesome. Everything is always clean and well kept. They are very good about maintaining maintenance. SIGN YOUR LEASE HERE!!

So impressed with this complex. Kaylie @ the front office is an asset to this company. We had a very bad experience with move in at a different complex and needed a new place last minute. She and the leasing manager expedited my daughters move in with a great deal of professional and confidence. The flat is beautiful, clean, and pleasantly roomy. The pool area looks resort quality, sparkling water and inviting cabanas! Gym/and other amenities are icing on the cake.

I lived at the Thompson for a year and it was a great experience! I was given random roommates, picked by the office, and they ended up being my best friends! We put in maintenance requests often for various things and always had quick and effective service. We loved getting our new calendar each month and my roommates and I always participated in the events or giveaways. The office staff and maintenance workers were always super nice and helpful and out of the three apartments i lived in in San Marcos, the Thompson was my favorite!

The complex itself is a good place to live. It's a typical college complex so it can be noisy as expected and a lot of noise from traffic if you're in the front. I gave one star because ALL the staff is useless. They are very unorganized and incompetent when running this complex. The management is young and is reflected in their lack of professionalism. I had to resort to contacting the corporate office to get any assistance in any issues that came up.

DO NOT COME HERE !!!! Everything breaks and when it does you will have a creepy older guy come "fix it".... every time he has come to "fix" something he has rummaged through my things, creepily over stepping so many personal boundaries. One time he cane to "drop off a notice" and I was IN THE SHOWER and my room door was locked. He knocked and there was no response because I was in the shower. When I initially chose The Thompson as my next home in San Marcos, I was excited and eager to move in. After learning of their lack of professionalism, unwillingness to adhere to clarity, and inability to remain consistent, I am ashamed to have signed a lease with this property.

I would have to agree with all the poor reviews! My son lived here for 2 years. It was NOT clean when he moved in! So that should have been our first sign but we had some serious family health issues going on and I couldn't go address this. And they DO NOT listen to students. They treat them very disrespectful. When my son moved out this past July 31 2018. I went to help him clean and move out. We carpet cleaned his room and when I left it was amazing how clean it was. RENTERS BEWARE!! The Thompson will scam you big time. I am getting an attorney to deal with them. They have very poor communication and try to get you for every dime they can. If you decide to sign a lease, have an attorney go over it before you sign! And make sure you get in writing every communication from every one you speak with in the office. Document everything!

I would not recommend living at The Thompson! Please be advised, current and potential residents, that this is not student housing, even though that is what is clearly advertised on the website. They will house just about anybody there, whether it being a student or older adults in the same unit. The upper management does not take consideration to residents' concerns. She is only concerned about filling every room. Living here for almost a year was a huge mistake. Everything is cheap and broken. From the front door having to be fixed up to 7 times for electronic key issues to the microwave breaking that took 4 weeks to fix. I put in about 3 work orders a month and the place is so disgusting. The people living here are even worst. They drive SO FAST there's been multiple wrecks just in the parking lot. Too many people not paying attention. Stupid college kids. This place is trash don't invest a penny here. I was begging to move out after 2 months. Can't wait to get a new place.

This is the absolute worst apartment I've ever lived in. When I moved in my closet rack fell on me. Took 4 and a half weeks for them to come and fix it. When I got here the house was FILTHY. Vomit on the walls near the front door, alcohol, hair and god knows what caked to the crown molding. Took 2 weeks for me to clean it sufficiently after the said all they could do was fix the hole in my wall and paint chipped. All the blinds were broken. All four bar stools are chewed on on the sides of the seat. Our refrigerator broke around December when we were all out of town. Took 3 weeks for a replacement

Really slow internet can't even print. Expensive for what you get. I pay 650 a month and it was supposed to come with full cable and internet. Half the channels don't work anymore or are super glitchy. Most of the people at the front are unprofessional and don't know what they are doing. One of them kept hitting on my roomate. They lost a few of our packages. I called them about my TV and they said I would have to "wait it out." Just dealing with the front office in general

The Thompson is full of fraud. I had all the paperwork in and was approved. They said congratulations on the spot. They sent me the portal to pay but when I tried signing in they blocked me out. They then call me to tell me the original person met the deadline after I had filled everything out and signed the lease for the unit and was trying to pay. So they said they were releasing me from my lease as if it's no big deal 3 days before school starts... Thompson staff while y'all are friendly. This is not how you responsibly run a business and you don't lie to your customers. I hope

They would have to be perfect at roommate matching to get 5 stars and give better notice about walk throughs. Also I asked for a T-shirt and they said they couldn't give me one because I'm not a new prospect :/ rude.
However, I've lived here for two years and I love my apartment. We had a terrible roommate issue but we got past it, she transferred out. If you are not bringing in roommates and doing roommate matching, understand that these are college students. They are not perfect at roommate matching and people lie on the forms all the time.
