I'm leaving this review after having an incredibly unpleasant, unprofessional encounter with an manager who snapped at customers this afternoon, for no fault of their own other than patiently waiting for a response as to whether they could dine while the computer system was down. While people were waiting, a host was taking a woman's order before letting us know that they were cash only at the moment. When the manager rushed into the room, she raised her voice and snapped at people who were waiting and snidely remarked, "this is why we aren't opening yet", as if it was

My husband and my in-laws have been coming to Mazza for 20+ years now…Ali, the owner, is an incredibly gracious and kind soul that runs a tight ship. He is extremely passionate about creating a bond with his community, which is truly unique. Our family is from Lebanon and the food they serve is authentic and fresh. From the grape leaves to the lamb shank to the kabobs…mmm!! *chef’s kiss* You cannot go wrong! Definitely call ahead to make a reservation, as it is an intimately-sized restaurant (but, as a side note, they’ll take reservations as far ahead as you’d like, so you can plan ahead

MAZZA is literally the best middle eastern restaurant in Utah. Very authentic and flavorful food, good quality meat, and a superb atmosphere of fine detailed wood, old pictures of Lebanon, and a great man, Ali, who owns and runs the place with such elegance and care. Their wine selection is also very complimenting to the menu. I can’t praise this place enough. Thank you Ali and your wonderful staff, for making my dinner experience epic.

My husband and I went here for date night and ordered off the starters and sides menu. We ordered the lamb sausage, lamb meatballs, tabbouleh, and vegetarian grape leaves to share. Everything was delicious! We also got the cream dessert with the sweetener and it was amazing. The staff was fantastic. My husband mentioned that we loved the garlic sauce and the manager unexpectedly brought us some to take with us. We will for sure be going back! One note: the dining area is pretty small so I would recommend having a reservation.

Great servers, polite people, and good food. There's not really much more you could ask for. It's one of the only middle eastern restaurants in driving range for me, and I've been craving the food ever since. The building is small, but nice. If you want to meet up with a few close friends or family after a while, I'd recommend making a few reservations at Mazza, the atmosphere and food are perfect for it.

Ordered for pick up and they told me there was an hour wait for food, which I was fine with. When I arrived to pick up at the time they told me, it was cold and the containers were soggy like it'd been sitting out for 30 minutes. Also one dish we'd ordered wasn't available anymore, and they didn't call to notify us so we ended up leaving with one less dish than we wanted. A really disappointing experience with no apology.

Mazza is a must!!

We have been fans of Mazza for years and years. Their food is fresh, authentic, and always "hits the spot"!

If you haven't tried them, stop what you're doing and go grab yourself a Chicken Kebab.

Support local, food that has been consistently great for decades!!

Thanks, Ali for feeding us for so long!

It is my first time visiting Mazza in Salt Lake City and I was impressed by how authentic the food is. This is an outstanding restaurant because they use all the right ingredients without cutting corners. I am lebanese and I am amazed with the quality and taste of food. It is very rare to find such restaurants anywhere in the US. Definitely I recommend it!

We have been customers for several years. Food is great here, the restaurant is very charming, good prices
However customer service it is not what used to be!
There is a waiting list when restaurant is busy and the system is awful! People put their names a phone numbers on the list and the hostess keep calling them several until she find them, while other people is waiting
We love Mazza but they need people with more experience
We supported Mazza during the bad times ordering twice per week and today we were treated so poorly

I should preface that the food was very good, but the actual experience was just okay.
We first were seated inside and we were all packed into the restaurant. We couldn't hear each other talk and I didn't feel comfortable sitting elbow to elbow with a complete stranger and no masks (because we are eating).
Because we couldn't hear each other, we moved out to the patio which was nice for about 5 minutes until it got dark and they brought out our food and we couldn't see what we were eating. There are no lights outside. It was a little bizarre to be honest.

Mazza doubled down on quality and not quantity expanding to this gorgeous, quaint location from their famous 9th and 9th currently under renovation. Authentic feeling. Lamb, get the lamb, lamb is on point, I order two lamb dishes in one sitting doing OMAD if you know you know

They're back! Oh how we've missed their baba ganoush, best we've ever had. The lamb sausage is delectable and stuffed grape leaves are a perfect meld of flavors and textures. Chicken kabob is nicely flavored and perfectly cooked, tastes great on a salad. Tried mujaddara and it was good - very savory with the finish of caramelized onions. Potatoes harra are a green, garlicky delight.
Recommend!

Delicious food, great service and an inviting atmosphere. Anyone who's been to Utah knows the difficulty of finding good restaurants. And this is one of the best in SLC. Definitely check it out!

Food is still very good, but I wish they'd go back to using non-styrofoam and non plastic take out containers. The others they used before were much better.

Baba Ganoush and the pita easily deserve 5 stars. The Falafel also deserved 5 stars were it not for the total lack of tahini sauce which was specifically requested. Falafel without sauce is very dry. The sautéed vegetables helped but not enough.
Could have been a 5 star dinner but instead the restaurant came across as chintzy.
Hope they learn.
Kudos for curbside pickup.

We had to wait no time to be seated, even when the place is pretty small and tight. I liked the menu a lot!!! It was really hard to make a decision about what to eat, but no regrets at all! Lamb was awesome.

I bike past this place everyday on my way back home from work and finally decided to stop by to pick up some dinner for take out. Appreciated them social distancing and using gloves and a mask. The service itself was great. I ordered the Magmoor and Rice for my entree and the Spinach Fatayer Flatbread as an appetizer. The Flatbread was good but was a little bland. I expected it to be a little more seasoned and flavorful but instead it was a bit dull and slightly burned on the outside. The Magmoor was pretty good, but again I expected more flavor. It did taste very fresh and I could tell they used

I am a lover of gyros and had this place recommended to me. It was nearly empty when I came in around dinner time. I had the beef gyro and my husband had the chicken, while we shared a plate of fries. I have never had such delicious sauce to go with my fries. It was amazing and we gobbled it up and asked for more! However, something wasn’t quite right with the taste of my beef, but my husband loved his chicken gyro. He even added the fry sauce onto it because he loved the sauce so much. Definitely going again because the fries!

I give Mazza points for its unique Mediterranean cuisine. The place is small with a few tables on the patio (not very shaded in some places) and some packed-in smaller tables inside. The food is full of spicy flavors, lot's of good options for vegans/vegetarians and if you're eating keto, paleo, or south beach, this would be a good place to check out.

The food is aromatic, full of flavor and the staff were very friendly. If you like Indian curry's try their curry appetizer with lettuce leaves. Very fresh tasting. I also enjoyed the chicken & cauliflower dish. The fries are big
