This free, all-day, virtual event will feature engaging plenaries, informative sessions, and a diverse array of topics addressing the most pressing needs in older adult mental health. Public health practitioners, professionals in the aging network, mental health providers, health care professionals, and anyone interested in ensuring the mental health of older adults.

The symposium is brought to you by the National Council on Aging, U.S. Administration for Community Living, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Behavioral health is defined as a state of mental and emotional well-being and/or choices and actions affecting wellness.
Services
Behavioral Health is a term that includes mental health, mental illness, substance use and substance abuse. The Oklahoma Coalition was the first in the Nation. The National Coalition on Mental Health and Aging was formed in 1991. Our goal is to improve the availability, accessibility and quality of mental health and substance use services for older Oklahomans.
Source: Designed for organizations that provide services to older adults, this toolkit offers information and materials to help understanding the issues associated with substance misuse and mental illness in older adults. The toolkit also contains materials to educate older adults, including fact sheets, and screening tools.
