Dr. David Roth is a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry and has been in private practice for over 20 years. He is board certified Optometric Physician as well as certified Orthokeratoligist (Specialist in vision correction without surgery). He is also a Refractive Surgery consultant to TLC Laser Center and Millennium Laser Center.

Services
We offer a variety of optometric services at Eye Desire and Roth Eye Care. We provide comprehensive eye exams and utilize the most technologically advanced ophthalmic equipment. Contact lens exams (additional $65-$95) includes glasses prescription, eye health examination, dilation, contact lens trials as well as contact lens follow up visits.
Our office will call you to collect credit card payment over the phone prior to your telehealth consultation. We are not accepting online payments at this time. Some eye conditions cannot be diagnosed via telehealth services. If the doctor is unable to diagnose you or if you need to be seen in the office we will have you come in to the office to be examined in person.
During a complete eye exam, Dr. Roth will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but also check your eyes for common eye diseases that could lead to vision loss, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
Contact lenses are medical devices, so you need a contact lens prescription in order to buy them, and your eye doctor is required to make sure that your vision examination for your contact lens prescription involves finding the right fit for your lenses. If the curvature of a contact lens is too flat or too steep for your eye's shape, you could experience discomfort or even eye damage.
Orthokeratology (OrthoK) is the use of specially designed contact lenses that act as a vision retainer to gently and gradually reshape the front surface of the eye (the cornea) to eliminate or reduce nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism and in some cases presbyopia(the need for reading glasses).

While the staff at Eye Desire were sweet and professional, I was charged $800 over the course of two visits for severe dry eye services that didn't help whatsoever.
When I made my appointment, I communicated that I was coming specifically for dry eye treatment, and was charged $300 for my first exam and $498 for my second visit (with insurance). When I called back to schedule a third visit (since I was desperate), I was told we'd have to use the same eye mask that I had already tried for $300 again (no other options).

I am visiting Miami for a wedding and developed a problem in my eye. I really needed to see a doctor and they made it happen on a Friday afternoon! I am so grateful and very appreciative for the doctor to see me. Their cameras and technical equipment are state of the art. All the staff I encountered were amazing and efficient. Fortunately I did not have the worst news and can carry on until I return to Orlando. If you live in the area, you have a great place to go for eye care!

My experience at Eye Desire was great! I made an appointment the day before and when I arrived I did not have to wait to be helped for even 1 minute. The staff was very kind and they explained everything they were doing in detail which was comforting. They offered an alternative service which I'd never heard of before where they take pictures of the back of your eye instead of having to do the drops to dilate your eye. It was so quick, painless and only a $40 upcharge. $40 to save me roughly 3-4 hours of slightly blurred and sensitive vision was totally worth it. The only downside of the Miami

Some years now, and I've always felt at home every appointment or visit, not only the doctors, but every one there just makes you feel special. Aside from being so nice, they are the only place, after I tried a few in the past, that got it right with my exams and glasses, as well as my daughter's ortho-K lenses, which most doctors around don't even know they exists. I hope and trust they'll keep up such fantastic work.

Eye Desire, the Optometry practice of Drs David and Ashley Roth, just moved to their fabulous new digs on 17th Street in Miami Beach, just around the corner from Yardbird. It's just blocks away from their old and temporary locations, so it's convenient (especially for post appointment meals, happy hours or Trader Joe's shopping...I have my priorities!). The new office is gorgeous and welcoming - check out the cool floors and round windows. I saw her for the first time when I woke up one morning with a very sharp discomfort in my left eye. In a panic, I called around to over a dozen eye doctors within a 20-mile radius of me, and none could see in the next 48 hours. Finally, I called Eye Desire and they squeezed me in for an appointment that day. Receptionist was very nice, intake paperwork handled quickly, and I was in to see Dr. Roth saw just minutes after I arrived. Turns out I had a chunk of dried contact lens lodged

I have had Dr. Roth updating my prescriptions since I moved to Miami 15 years ago. I just recently had them updated again. He has always spent as much time as needed to explain to me the changes my eyes and vision have gone through and has always been generous with allowing me to try different kinds of samples so I could decide which pair of contracts was the most comfortable as well as the pair that I could see best out of. Danny is his assistant who has also always been patient with helping me to pick out frames as well as sunglasses. I have recommended several of my friends over the years

I used to get my prescriptions on "for eyes" on alton rd .unfortunately the dr. Is not there anymore.so I search and find this place focused on the reviews but they may be from friends other than customers.I spent 200 dollars in eye exams and they supposed to called me 2 days after to gave me trails.called a week after and they told me that they will returned my call which nobody did.2 weeks after I called and they told me that they will get back to me when they had the info,once again nobody did.Called 2 more times and even asked for the "doctor" and nobody called me.Since

I'm from Atlanta and was in Miami on vacation when my eye wouldn't stop itching. The itch felt familiar, and to my dismay, it was.
I randomly searched for optometrist and SUPER glad that I found Roth Eye Care!!! Dr. Ashely was incredibly thorough and super helpful. She got me through my vacation with a plan that prevented the trip from being totally spoiled.

I could not be more thankful for how wonderful and caring Dr. David Roth is.. I reached out on a Sunday with an emergency and he called me back and calm me down. He took the time to explain to me what was a accruing. He follow up with me everyday until I came into see him.

This really should be my 3rd review of Dr. David Roth. The first time was when he came to the office on a Sunday when I had an emergency. Immediately after completing a triathlon, something got into my right eye. The eye became irritated, painful and my vision was hazy as if someone put a fine white cloth in front of my eye. He examined my eye, flushed the debris and administered some medicine to help heal the scratches and reduce the inflammation. This same scenario occurred again a few months later (yes, after another triathlon).

I absolutely love the attention and care I get from all the staff at Eye Desire, Cindy is wonderful with everything as well as Danny and of course Dr. Roth, they are a great team.
They have a great selection of sunglasses and glasses frames to choose from. I just ordered my sunglasses made with prescription lenses and will be coming back this week to get the regular ones.
Right now the area it's undergoing construction on the street which can be a bit frustrating to find parking, but it's easy to find parking behind ace hardware store or the epicure market. Anyways it's all worth

I had a good experience here. The doctor was great and the staff was super friendly. The location is small, but I have to say that they have a pretty extensive selection of frames for the size.
Granted, some of the frames are a little spendy; but I think if you're going to be wearing glasses a lot, it's worth spending the extra money if you find a good set of frames that works for you. You can always just use the prescription they give you and shop around, but coming here you'll at least have a good experience, and have the opportunity to see what they have and go from there
