Services
Going to the dentist may not be on your list of favorite things to do. We hope to change your perspective about dental visits, and we promise to make the most of your valuable time. For your comfort, we've created a welcoming, homelike atmosphere that promotes relaxation and peace of mind. Our team members are always happy to answer questions, get you a blanket, or help you with anything at all while you're our guest.
Dr. Hamilton Vason (Hamp) grew up in Atlanta. A family friend, Dr. Kenneth Grubbs, inspired him to become a dentist. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he attended Emory Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1980. He then served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps in beautiful Naples, Italy.
Healthy teeth and gums don't just happen; rather, they're the result of care and attention. While it's important that you keep up with brushing and flossing, Dr. Vason plays a crucial role in your oral health as well. At Dr. Vason's Northwest Atlanta dental office, we offer a variety of general dentistry services to help keep your smile healthy and looking beautiful.
The American Dental Association recommends you see your dentist at least twice each year for a checkup. At your checkup, we will inspect your soft tissues for oral cancer, periodontal disease, and other problems. Dr. Vason will also look at each tooth in your mouth to assess problems like tooth decay or cracks, as well as old dental work.
Oral cancer kills more people nationwide than either cervical or skin (melanoma) cancer, and only half of patients diagnosed will survive more than five years. One American dies every hour from oral cancer. The most common risk factors are tobacco use, frequent high quantity alcohol consumption, constant sunlight exposure, habitual cheek or lip biting, or poorly fitting dentures.

I have been going to this practice for over 35 years. In 1987, Dr. Vason had to perform five emergency root canals due to a work accident and after my jaw healed had to put crowns in cover the damaged teeth. To this day, I can barely tell which are my real teeth and which ones had to be replaced. Dena has been my hygienist since she came on board and is wonderful.
Great practice and I highly recommend.

Dr. Carlisle H. Vason is absolutely one of the most attentive dentist you will find. His personable skills will assure you that your care is equal to the same care he would provide to a family member. After a traumatic fall where I lost and damaged my front teeth, Dr. Vason restored my smile again to "beautiful". Once you step foot into Dr. Vason's Family Dentistry, this amazing staff will make you feel like family. A huge Thanks to Dr. Vason and his wonderful staff! Mary A.

I've been a patient of Dr. Vason's for several years and have had such a wonderful experience! Dr. Carlisle is such a great addition to the team. He is incredibly knowledge and thorough. He performed a filling on my tooth recently and it was a totally painless experience. As someone who hates having anything done to their teeth this is the highest compliment (which is why I wanted to write the review). I highly recommend Dr. Carlisle and Dr. Vason to anyone looking for a fantastic dentist!

Over the years all my experiences with Vason Family Dentistry have been excellent. Tuesday , I had my teeth cleaned. My hygienist, Pamela, always does a great job cleaning my teeth. Due to Covid-19, I missed a cleaning, causing Pamela to work especially hard to get my teeth really clean. I would rate her work extraordinary.

Loyal patient for over ten years. Repeatedly ignored my request for a cost estimate for a cosmetic procedure, then books a 2.5 hour appointment without explaining it to me, and has the nerve to start chewing me out in his office. He then winks at me as he tells me he's going to send me a bill, which was for $400 and he did not even do anything. I would not recommend anyone visit him, unless you're looking for someone who is rude, doesn't listen to his patients, and charges them tons of money.

I made an appointment with them and gave them my home and cell number, SS#, address, etc. over the phone so that they could start the paperwork. They called back and apologized for having scheduled the particular day/time as the dentist was unavailable then. They promised to call me back about an appointment for the next day and I never heard from them again.
