Mission Hills Pilates
MOVEMENT IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF SELF-CARE, AND we believe THAT THE WORLD WILL BE A BETTER PLACE WHEN MORE PEOPLE ARE HAPPY AND HEALTHY INSIDE THEIR BODIES. Mission Hills Pilates was founded to fill the gap between strong classical Pilates instruction and contemporary strength-training techniques. Pilates creates the most balanced musculoskeletal structure possible for you through a series of specific exercises on specialized equipment.

It's essentially a highly effective cross-training system that can identify limitations in your current movement abilities, and work to create more functionality through all planes of motion and ranges of motion so your body can work as the dynamic machine it was designed to be. As exercise science progresses, it becomes imperative for fitness professionals to stay educated and pass new information and programming on to clients.

We take pride in our extensive movement education, and offer only the most individualized attention possible. There is absolutely no substitute for personalized training, as there is no one-size-fits-all exercise program.

Each person's mental and physical needs are unique, and only your focused attention coupled with biomechanically advantageous alignment can guarantee muscle re-patterning, which is what leads to lasting change in the body due to increased mobility and strength.
The Pilates Method is a system of low-impact exercises that are systematically designed to develop core strength, create supple/elastic muscles, improve posture, and increase balance. Pilates is both supportive and challenging. There are multiple pieces of apparatus that Joseph Pilates designed and refined with different exercises developed on each one.
Mission Hills Pilates provides personalized one-on-one sessions provide you with in-depth movement training and understanding on how to get the most from your Pilates practice. Private training is by far the most effective way to focus on your individual body needs and goals, no matter what they may be.

I can't speak highly enough of Alissa and my sessions with her. She has such an understanding of how the body works, and guides you through a safe and effective workout. I didn't always have the best form when working out and that has led to injuries. Alissa helps you learn the correct form to use, and guides you through specific exercises to help relieve areas that have been painful for years. Highly recommend!

Alissa at Mission Hills is awesome! Before seeing Alissa, I had a love/hate relationship with working out. Alissa taught me so much about my body and how to truly gain strength in a functional way.

Alissa is hands down one of the most gifted pilates instructors I have ever worked with. Her knowledge of anatomy and movement is extensive, and her ability to effectively communicate these things to a layperson is truly rare. Before working with her I spent years dealing with pain associated with hyper-mobility issues. Within a few sessions I was already moving (and feeling) much better! I also had a radically different understanding of how my movement patterns and alignment were contributing to my past injuries and pain. I always looked forward to our sessions and I'm so grateful for the

Gave this new place a try since it's located in my neighborhood, super relaxing! Had been going to group Pilates classes around San Diego but wasn't getting what I was looking for as far as form correction to actually feel the benefits of Pilates.

Alissa is very knowledgeable and made slight corrections to my messy form and I felt immediate improvements. No more group classes for me!

The studio is located on a canyon with a nice afternoon breeze moving through, and someone has a wind chime close by that for sure lowered my blood pressure during the session.

Thank you Alissa and
