Vietnam Cafe
Most Kansas City locals would agree with the opinion that Vietnam Cafe is one of the top Asian restaurants in town. Located in a quaint corner building in downtown Kansas City near the River Market, Vietnam Cafe is known for its amazing Pho noodle soup, friendly service, and frequent lines of hungry customers spilling out onto the street during lunch time.

Whether you are a beloved customer or a first-time visitor, we hope to see you on your next stop to Vietnam Cafe! Best Viet food in Kansas City Missouri love their spring rolls w/peanut sauce and their pork chop yummy damn it now I got go get some! And the service is great. I'm from Des Moines, IA.

Came to Vietnam cafe for a quick lunch and had a great experience! While there is no parking lot, just street parking, had no issues. Place is a lot bigger on the inside with plenty of seating. Service was very quick and we received our food much faster than I was expecting. The food was very authentic and will be coming back if I visit Kansas City again!

Steaming bowls of Phở Gà (i.e., Saigon-style chicken soup) always make my heart happy -- especially when the broth is as first rate as it is at this Kansas City bistro!

Family-run Vietnamese restaurant.

It's my family's first choice for pho.

A little insider tip: order Pho dac bite with clear noodles.

I love this place. They recently expanded to next door so now it's bigger. Food is great. I always order the combination Pho. My wife likes the pork chop. When we are downtown this is where we go for Pho. You should too.

I had pho and appetizer. Everything was fine most wait people were friendly and helpful and all was well until I finished eating. I had ordered a large size of pho and had a huge amount of noodles and assorted other things left over. I asked for a carry out container and sat it right next to my food in plain view by the nearest edge of the table. I made a quick trip to the lady's room before packaging up my soup. It was a lot so I wasn't sure it would even all fit in the container. But when i got back other people had been seated and were happily chatting and my food was gone. The snotty waitress

This restaurant has the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. It was delicious and had lots of flavor. We ordered the A2, P1, and the Vietnamese coffee. The service was great and we did not have a long wait time. Just in town to visit but when we come back we are definitely going to eat here again.

Good value, good portions... and place was PACKED which is always a great sign. If uve never had it before.. would re offend the beef or chicken soup/ not soup fan? Get the Bun version which is the noodles without the broth but with sweet/spicy dressing. Both are what they are famous for. We got the pork/shrimp appetizer on sugar canes which is common street food.

I've heard so much about Vietnam Cafe, and I have to say that it hasn't disappointed either of the two times I've been able to visit!

What continues to sound good as the cold weather moves in? One word: Pho. Need something to combat that cold you feel coming on? Pho. And this is definitely some great pho (I've had beef and chicken at this point). They give you all the fixings (even when you take it to-go), including bean sprouts, thai basil (when they have it), cilantro, jalapenos--but if you do take it to-go and you want sriracha or hoisin, be sure to put some in your container

I was excited to try this place out and so glad that it's close by the city! This was a restaurant that sooo many people told me I had to try. Coming from Columbus, I was on the lookout for a go-to pho spot in KC when I moved. This place definitely hits the spot for any of those soup-weather-type days.

Once you walk in, you're hit with that soup broth that you know has been brewing for days! Very nostalgic restaurant interior that makes you feel comfortable and that "mom is preparing a nice bowl of pho for you"-type feeling :,)

I tried the beef pho (Pho Bo) and was very pleased

The food was great, but the customer service was horrible!
The servers did not offer water, and at the end they got upset because I asked for a coke to go. The guy had half & half hair. One side bleached & black, the girl server had a black shirt with a ponytail & they were rude. They were more attentive to other customers…they need to work on their customer service skills.
At the end they made my friend feel Uncomfortable while she was paying & laughed speaking in another language. NEVER GOING BACK, and I am visiting from CALIFORNIA!

We were on a road-trip from Portland, OR to NJ. Stopped by this place for dinner on 10/8/2021. My wife picked this place based on Google rating. We ordered two P4 (i.e. PHO DAC BIET) takeout and the price was very reasonable. We brought our own pots for the hot soup since we plan to eat in our RV. We were not disappointed. The pho was very tasty (my wife thinks the soup is a bit on the sweet side) and we enjoyed this hot meal in the middle of our long trip. Not to mention, the staffs were also extremely friendly and polite. I would visit this place again if I ever travel thru Kansas City in the

I will always hold this place close to my heart. I've never been disappointed with a meal here. Idk how many times I've been here, to many times to count, but I can say I've always enjoyed the food, staff, and value of Vietnam Cafe.

It's my personal belief that everyone should make this their go to place for Vietnamese/ Thai/ Chinese food.

I feel like this place is good enough to satisfy my craving for Pho. If you're in Kansas city and want a quick fix give this place a try. The soup wasn't bland, but I think that they could've provided more beef to their pho bo. My friend said their pho bo kho (red looking soup) was okay 8/10. Overall, not bad.

Yummy bun bo hue!! We got seated pretty quickly for 3 people on a Sunday lunch outing. Parking isn't too bad. You just have to find street parking. They work fast to get food to you. I was surprised how fast they got it out to us considering how busy it was. I want to come back and try everything!

We went to eat lunch here today around 11:am. If you haven't been here in awhile, they expanded their restaurant and updated it. It's bigger, new menus, and more indoor seatings. A win for us especially on Sundays when Sundays seem to be the busiest. The food is still amazing. Employees are friendly and helpful here. They speak Vietnamese and English here very well.

We ordered crab Rangoon, nem nuong, pho dac biet, and com thit nuong. All were very flavorful and so yummy! The prices here are very reasonable and affordable. You get a lot of food for the price. This place is hands down

Their serving portions were large make sure don't order too much appetizers before main dish is served. Flavor-wise all dishes were tasty some might a little too salty for some people like fried quails but in good way, loved their fresh and crispy vegetables. Their soups were on sweet side.

This place is delicious!. It's my to go restaurant when I'm in the mood for Pho. My family can each pick something they like, tofu with egg noodles or combination fried rice, and the shrimp spring rolls are to die for.

Pho Bo is the best pho I've ever had in Kansas City. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The broth was clean and flavorful. I would recommend this pho place to any of my family and friends. Also the service was really good!

Vietname Cafe is a traditional Vietnam Cuisine eatery. The food is authentic and the service is fast. The portion sizes are generous, enough for 2 meals, and I eat much more than the average customer. Great value for your money.

The Food:
Lots of variety. My favorites are the ginger chicken, fried shrimp rolls, and beef pho. As previously mentioned, the portions are generous. The quality is great too.

The Service:
The food comes out quick and fresh. The servers are prompt at taking your order. This is one of the quickest sit down restaurants I have been to.

Vietnam Cafe is a classic local favorite for Pho and all things Vietnamese cuisine. Especially when you're under-the-weather or feeling cozy, a bowl of their Pho hits the spot. Also it lasts me 2-3 meals, it's so large!
I haven't had it yet but people also love their Vietnamese Coffee.

Great for takeout or dine-in. Masks enforced. Plenty of parking in the Columbus Park neighborhood. Also walking distance from the River Market (10-15 minutes).

Vietnam Cafe is on par with the Vietnamese food back home in the Bay Area, where there's an abundance of delicious Vietnamese restaurants. My boyfriend got a bowl of pho and I had the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, shrimp and egg rolls. The portions were great, the food tasted authentic and everything was decently priced. The Viet coffee was also on point! Dining indoors also felt safe since the staff were all wearing masks and the tables had a safe distance from each other. If you're in the mood for Vietnamese food in KC, this is definitely the spot!

They underwent a renovation! We were so concerned about going with a 3 month old amidst Covid, but were pleasantly surprised to find that they expanded their space and set up tables that help practice social distancing. We felt so safe enjoying our pho with our baby in the booth with us! The food was just as good as I remembered it and the staff were super friendly!

If you're looking for a pho fix in this cold weather, don't pass this spot by!

Great vietnamese restaurant. Service was excellent. Covid safety recommendations were observed. Prompt execution.

Banh uot - it's hard to find this dish in Vietnamese restaurants so as soon as I saw it on the menu I had to come here and it didn't disappoint

Pho - I think the pho broth could use a bit more depth of flavor from more beef bones. Also my husband thought it was a bit too strong on the star anise n cinnamon flavor so probably could use more beef flavor but still pretty good. They could also add tendon as a option

BBH - it needed more spice and more depth of flavor as well
