Joseph Pilates designed his exercises and equipment to address what he saw as a population increasingly hunched, fatigued, stiff, and deprived of deep breathing by sitting and standing poorly. He intended for it to become a way of life, and a personal practice for anyone wishing to develop the highest degree of health.

I can't speak about the atmosphere of the studio itself as I'm taking live video classes with Beth and I'm all the way across the country in Michigan. I've been taking 2 classes a week with her for a month or two now and I practice and use her YouTube based videos on days we don't have class. I still cannot "do" all of the things perfectly, but like she always reminds us, it's a process. I feel so much stronger and steadier from head to toe already, I'm very much looking forward to feeling the success of being able to successfully carry out the full parts of the activities and the results it brings

AMAZING Pilates studio! I’ve been a member of Be Pilates since August of this year. My initial motivation was to correct my slouched posture prior to my wedding and to strengthen muscles of my left body as they had become weaker overtime probably due to different lengths of my legs. Within a month, I become comfortable in a good posture and took tons of great looking photos during my wedding. As a first time Pilates student, I did have challenges working on the left side muscles. I would habitually become tense during workout and use my knee instead of muscles and my knee ended up in pain afterwards

Be Pilates is the best investment I’ve made to date. I’ve had chronic back issues for a long time and I’ve never been to a place where the instructor is as patient, compassionate and kind as Beth is. I’m forever grateful for finding her studio and will trek from across town each week with a smile on my face.

Beth, Christopher, and the Be Pilates studio has been such a gift to me and my life. While I have always been generally physically active, I was limited in movement and often felt tense and tight, until I found Be Pilates and their thoughtful approach to grounding, breathing, and strength. I feel stronger than I ever have, I have more flexibility, and I am more aware and appreciative of my body's range of motion and strength. I always leave class more centered mentally also, because the breathing and focus required to maximize the benefit of the exercises pulls me out of any mental blocks

I had not tried Pilates before but heard wonderful thing about doing Pilates. I tried Pilates with a different instructor but was very frustrated. The instructor had me doing the different movements but not explaining how do do them and why. I was very frustrated and very sore because I wasn’t doing them correctly. I talked to a friend who was going to BePilates. Wow what a difference Beth explained everything so well and demonstrated how to do it the correct way. She pays close attention to your movements to make sure you are doing them correctly so you don’t have pain or injuries. Having

I made an appointment just thinking that I wanted a place to workout close to my house. The way Beth teaches pilates is truly so much more. Its therapeutic, and is helping me with back pain and joint issues. Also, and I don't know how else to say this, but it's also helping me reconnect with my physical presence. The breathing that physically grounds you and allows you to move in ways you never thought you could, is also emotionally grounding. The challenge is both physical and mental, and although frustrating at times, the rewards are well worth it.

Love pilates and beth! she is an amazing teacher and really care that we learn the real teachings of Joseph Pilates. I started in Jan 2018 and go 2xs a week. I have 4 kids and felt like my body had been damaged and no muscles or tone was left at all before I started pilates. BUT I have seen amazing changes in my body shape, muscle development and mindfulness since starting here. I have gone down 3 sizes. there is also a great community of people that go here. I highly recommend. The proof is in how great I feel

I just finished my 3rd one on one session with Beth. I've had chronic issues with my back/hips etc for decades. I'm working with her adjunctive to PT and plan to join her classes when I feel ready. I can't rave enough about Beth. She's patient, caring, knowledgeable, and paced things to meet me where I'm at. I feel safe. I feel respected. I'm only three sessions, my ability to find my core and embody some of the concepts she is teaching has increased dramatically. Dramatically. I'm a challenging case and the way she is working with me takes that into account.

Started at the new yr 2018. did 3 private lessons first before doing group classes (normally 4-6 people in a group).
when people in the group told me they were addicted to pilates, i thought ya okay... i dont really see how anyone is addicted to working out... we all have to do it to just stay in shape! i am the kind of person who doesn't like to workout and feel like its a workout so normally i do dance classes and i dislike repetition to where it feels like groundhog day. i was just here to try and regain some muscles that i lost after 4 kids and hope that i can get that long lean body shape

I started at Be Pilates summer of 2016 and have hooked ever since. I have struggled to maintain my core strength because of back and neck issues and although things are not progressing as quickly as I'd like I am finding my body changing. I am stronger after every session and have convinced my husband to join in!

Beth at Be Pilates is excellent. She understood what I was talking about and the difficulty I was having walking. She was able to translate that into words and pictures that I could understand. I have had 5 individual sessions with her and learned how to breathe, how to move my muscles and how to continue to move them to maintain and gain strength. Don't get me wrong it is hard work but well worth it if I to use this body for another 40 years in a way that helps me do all the things I want. I am 62 and my spine was curved from sitting 8 hours a day so much so that I lost height and movement. IT

Before beginning, Beth inquired as to what I hoped to get from Pilates. That was pretty simple--flexibility, reduction of lower back pain from sitting at the computer, and longer, leaner muscle. My biggest hurdle, I told her, would be my motivation.

I've been going to Be Pilates for about 9 months and I can't say enough about how great I feel. I've always been in cardio shape, but now I'm toned and have better posture. I have never felt so strong in my legs, core, and arms. Beth and Christopher are amazing instructors and very encouraging. The vibe of Be Pilates is also warm and inviting. I think everyone feels welcome no matter their experience level.
