It's hard to believe it has been 50 years! Beetlesmith was founded in 1969. Jerry started out as a proprietor of a Richfield service station and auto repair in the Kennydale area of North Renton. Coincidentally the next month Boeing laid off hundreds of engineers. The slogan back then was "Will the last one leaving Seattle please turn off the lights!"
Jerry had unemployed engineers asking him to trade gas for their cars for firewood. After two years in the Kennydale location Jerry relocated to downtown Renton on Logan Avenue close to Boeing. In 1978 he relocated again to 5th and Park Avenue, still located close to Boeing. At one time Jerry estimated that 60% of his customers were Boeing employees.

I brought my truck to get further diagnosis because lack of boost according to the OBD that I hooked up. After a week of my truck being there . I was told it would need a new turbo and it would take over two weeks to repair. I paid crazy amount to get it away from there. I took it to another shop my truck had nothing to do with the turbo I paid an extremely less amount and had it the next day. Careful where you get your vehicle diagnosed.

These guys are awesome. I needed my college son's A/C fixed before he headed off to Boise in the sweltering heat we were having at the time. They were super busy, but I begged them to try and help because he was leaving in a few days. They agreed to look at it and I'm sure they had to move appointments around to do this as every auto A/C repair place was swamped and booked way out. Long story short: they got into the car's A/C and cooling system, figured out what it needed and repaired it within a day! And he was off to school in 100 degree plus temps with no issues. That's pretty amazing for an

I have too many good things to say about Beetlesmith. The repair quality is first-rate. I've never had to get anything they fixed repaired again. But beyond that, this is an incredible business. They go way above and beyond. The customer service is the best. Be prepared to have your expectations exceeded EVERY TIME. Highest possible recommendation.

I spend more than $500 to fix a misfire problem and as soon as I got my “fixed” car back the problem immediately appear on the dashboard. They don’t know what they are doing, don’t spend your money with them, they only read codes and guess what is the best move to fix the issue. You should close the store and open a Thai restaurant, your service is trash.

I recently started to get my oil change at Beetlesmith. They had provided me great customer service and car services - this prompted me to go back. I am not a car guru by a long stretch however I did not feel intimidated by them - instead I felt welcomed. By the third visit, they recognize me by simply providing the make and model over the phone. They also value a good review. At the first and second visit, they politely ask if I would be willing to leave a review. Often, I would forget. At the third visit, I noticed they did not ask. I appreciated that they did not hassle me for a review. Beetlesmith

I have always been nervous about taking my car to a shop and having some work done to it. In the past I have had my uncle always be the one to do the work on my vehicle as he is a certified mechanic. Unfortunately due to his health he had to stop working on vehicles. I have been to a few places to get a oil change on my car I have now but have been unsatisfied with there customer service. A friend of mine at work suggested Beetlesmith Valley Auto. I had my husband call to get price quote for oil change, he talked with a guy name Jerry who was amazing and friendly. Jerry gave me a awesome quote

I just pulled up google maps, and searched for auto shops and found this place. I was able to call ahead and talk to someone and set up an appointment, they were extremely friendly and accommodating. I was able to wait in the lobby area while they were servicing my car, I spoke with the owner for a bit, he is a cool guy. Once all was said and done I was out of there within an extremely reasonable amount of time. Their service was outstanding, in comparison to some other auto shops I've been to, I would recommend this place.

These yahoos, straight to my face, told me it would cost me $650 to replace my whole oil pan when a screw just needed rethreading- after charging me over a hundred dollars to "inspect" my oil leak and top it off with like six ounces of oil.
Guys, a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta oil pan sells online for $58.
And they'll tell you straight to your face that they're an honest shop.
That's all I have to say about that.

I was very impressed with the employees and service at Beetlesmith's Valley Auto. I had heard of their great reputation so I decided to take my car for a maintenance check up. They got my car in immediately and while they had it up on the lift did a complete inspection and found everything was ok (not the usual with other places) they usually have wanted me to buy some other service I didn't need. I highly recommend this Auto Service!

I have a VW so I THOUGHT I'd be in good hands. WRONG. My car was overheating and leaking coolant so I needed to find out where the leak was coming from. I dropped it in the overnight slot and was told by Sam that he would get in touch with me in the morning. 3pm rolls around and Sam calls to tell me that it is indeed leaking and they need to replace one of the "Tee" coolant hose connectors. Sam started off by trying to "scare me." He began to tell me how unsafe it is to drive the car in this condition and it should be towed and I won't make it home blah blah blah.

DO NOT GO TO BEETLESMITH AUTO SERVICE
I write this review to warn you to stay far away from Beetlesmith Auto Service. They are dishonest, condescending, deceptive, rude and far from thorough.
My trucks clutch failed me last Friday across the street from their service center, and I thought it would be the least amount of hassle to have my car pushed into their parking lot to be serviced. I spoke with them over the phone/in person and they insisted that they would not be able to give me a price quote without me paying $130(actual cost at $154) for a diagnosis. Horrible, unnecessarily expensive, experience.
Went in with an oil smell and some smoke in the rear wheel-well, after 3 trips and a total of $5,000 (including a new radiator) my car still smelled like oil and had smoke coming from the rear wheel-well. Was told it was nothing to worry about, they had looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong.
Fast forward a few months after the car has been sitting around and was finally taken to a REAL mechanic, turns out a $60 hose was worn and had a loose connection. Fixing this hose in the first place would've prevented my oil from leaking and

I am super thankful for Beetlesmith's and their service!
I had pulled up to Ikea for a "quick" errand when the folks herding traffic kindly pointed out to me that I had a flat tire! This wasn't just my flat tire, it was actually my boss' car! Not knowing the area very well, I searched on my phone for a nearby auto service place and took my chances with Beetlesmith's.
Jerry was super helpful, thorough and kind in helping me get my (boss's) car serviced. I was expecting some sort of bill for his time and expertise but he was to the point and helpful, just getting

I have had a variety of vehicles serviced here and would have only given a mediocre rating for the service-to-value ratio but because they are close to where I live I decided I would continue to allow them to service my vehicles. I had been going there for about 5 years. That was until the last time.
I have had my BMW 635CSi. 2000 Chev Suburban and my 1995 Audi S6 Wagon in for repair. The Audi was the last straw.
I won't make a long story about it, but after them having the Audi for nearly three weeks and me having to make multiple return trips the car is still not right. It was an

Really, really wanted to love this shop. The people that I have been dealing with are very friendly and it's close to where I live. Not sure what is happening in the back.
It seems like every time I brought my car in and got it back, I'd have to return it because something was left undone/not done correctly. Never had to pay extra, but it was a huge hassle.
The last straw was when I brought them my car after it was stolen. I had not seen it for a month, so I asked them to go over it to make sure it was drive-able/safe. As I was driving my car home I ran out of gas. It was literally

I received a coupon in the mail for Beetlesmith's and thought I would give them a try. It would be my first time getting service outside of the dealer and I wanted to save a few bucks.
I made an appointment for a Friday and dropped the car off on Thursday so I didn't have to get up so early. The service I requested was a 60K service, fix a sunroof leak, change a burned out bulb, and replace the wipers. They entered my info and said they would call me at noon the next day for a quote on the sunroof leak. Didn't get a call by 4PM the next day, so I called and they said it would

Owner Jerry Smith is a fellow Kiwanian. No we don't grow kiwis.
When I first received his business card, I thought by the name that they only served VW Beetle's. Hmm, that's a declining niche, I thought.
Turns out they've been servicing folks cars since 1967 as a family business. Well, I finally made it by for an oil change. Brad Johnson, the service manager recommended I have my rear brakes replaced and quoted around $200. A little while later I got a call, "your brakes are fine, they were just real dirty, we've cleaned em up." At no charge. There is
