Serious Cycles
Serious Cycles was founded by Seth Lawrence In his parents basement in 1988. He was only 13 years old and had a passion for BMX racing and repairing bicycles. The opportunity started when his parents allowed him to purchase some tools and parts from a gentleman by the name of Lester Erikson (owner of Lakeside Cycle in Manomet). This was the beginning of a lifetime of involvement in the bicycling community.

The store name was derived from a conversation with his parents. During this conversation his father suggested "Serious Bicycles" then his mother said I've got it "Serious Cycles"! From that day forward the name has stuck. He then began to set up a small shop in the basement and started to sell and repair bicycles under the name Serious Cycles.

Got my bike tuned up here and they did not complete what they said on the website. It clearly states that the tune up includes degreasing and lubricating the gears, and cleaning and polishing the bike. I got two bikes tuned up and neither looked like it had been touched. Components of the bikes do run smoother than when I brought them in so some work was completed, but for $90 each, and with the website clearly stating they'll be cleaned, I was very upset to see that they weren't, because now I don't know what else they didn't do as part of the package that I was paying for. Current stance is that

I have bought many bikes and trikes at Serious Cycles. I have purchased a Specialized road bike, a long wheelbase recumbent bike, a Catrike and bikes for my grandkids and get all of my service and maintenance done there. The guys are great, professional and competent. You feel like family when entering their shop. The best there is.

I had an excellent first experience with Serious Cycles. They were very friendly and explained everything they were doing thoroughly. I brought my bike in for derailleur adjustment only to find out that I needed a new cassette. They had a replacement on the shelf, amongst many other components. They installed it and adjusted the derailleur very quickly. The mechanic even gave me a quick lesson on derailleur adjustment so that I can dial it in myself in the future. Easily the best bike shop I've been to and is now going to be my go-to choice for parts and service!

Brought bicycles in for tune-ups. They did a decent job but poor attention to detail.

I asked to have handle bar end caps replaced. They used incorrect caps, stuffing cardboard into the handle bars to hold them in place (it obviously didn't work - they fell out).

Fantastic experience purchasing my son a BMX bike. Blue Powder Coat Sunday 20" is awesome. I'm a 300lb dad who loves to jump on my kids bike and tool around. They even had an adjustable seat and talk post so the fit for him is perfect. I'll be back shortly for my adult sized 26" Sunday!

These guys saved the day, I would give six stars if I could!
My friends and I were riding from Boston to Provincetown on Labor Day weekend and hit a flat tire about a mile from the shop. Folks in the town called the shop to report we were stranded on the road and a nice lady picked up our bike to be fixed at the shop. We headed on our way and the bike hit a flat again about a mile later! Nate from the shop came out in his truck with some much needed roadside assistance and fixed the bike up again. He (and Serious Cycles) saved the day and we ended up making the full 120mi ride before sundown.

My favorite bike shop now, went all over my bike in a short time, I picked it up before I went on vacation even added a couple of things when I picked it up and they put everything on for me. Very welcoming and not pushy at all, answered questions so I could understand. I give them a 10!

This place is great, they are super helpful, and anytime you buy new bike they give you a free tune up after you've ridden it for a while and broken it in. Everyone that works there is really nice and knowledgable - if you are an expert biker or just getting into biking for the first time they can help you find exactly what you are looking for.

I never had a bike in my entire life that I could call my own, but I've ridden many I recently acquired a pretty decent bike on a social media sight but it was kind of a mess. I know absolutely nothing about bicycles so I had to put it into someone else's hands. After reaching out for referrals, Serious Cycles quickly became the most referred. So I contacted them to get this thing rollin. It was done in a day or two and was so reasonable! Seth was so nice and I felt confident I had gone to the right place.
My bike looks like new and I'm so excited to ride off into the wilderness

Serious cycles is a nice local bike shop run by people who know biking. They will answer any question you may have and even recommend local trails! I just picked my bike up for being tuned up for the season and can't wait until the weather is warmer to be able to take it out on the Cape Cod trails!

Seth and the crew are great people. I purchased a bike 19 years ago from Serious cycles and returned to the shop a couple weeks ago to buy another mountain bike. They answered all the questions I had and helped pick out the best bike for me.

Overall, it's a great bike shop. I highly recommend them.

Serious Cycles is amazing! Some friends and I were embarking on a three-day bike trip to Provincetown, and my bicycle was giving me serious issues along the way. Coming across Serious Cycles was like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The guys were awesome, fixed up my bike quickly and efficiently, and sent us along the way for a reasonable price. I highly recommend them, worth the trip!

I've known Seth for a long time and I've purchased two bikes from him. One a road bike and the other a mountain bike. In addition I have always traveled the 45 to an hour ride to get my bikes worked on. The best bike shop on the south shore without a doubt!

I brought my mt. bike in for a tune up on a Friday, they gave me an estimate that it would ready in 3 days. The next day they called and said it was ready, so I picked it up just before closing time. My bike was ready for a Sunday morning ride, I wasn't expecting it back till Tuesday. Great service, highly recommended.

Great shop. Top quality bikes and employees that give you their opinions and not try and push the most expensive bike/part in the store. I went in with a problem with my bike expecting to leave it for a few days. They told me if I can wait they'd have it back to me in a few. Half hour later I walked out with my bike and was on the trails the next day. I've bought four bikes from them and have never had an issue.

Discovered this shop online and had to check out the shop. We were pretty impressed with the selection of road and mountain bikes. But moreso, the owner of the store was incredibly helpful, friendly, patient, and informative. The store is well organized and seems to carry everything needed for cycling trips.
The only downside is that there isn't much to choose from for women's clothing and it seemed some other products were out of stock.
Overall, we'll be back!

I am a Mom looking to get back in shape and are not (yet) an avid cyclist. When searching for the right bike trailer I encountered other bike shops where they make me feel as though I am wasting their time when I asked questions.

Quality and safety are key, as I was looking for a bike trailer for my children. They had the Burley trailers on the floor, and allowed me to test it in the store, I put my children in and was able to see how it worked for our needs.

I visited the store several times, and each time I found a knowledgeable, helpful (patient) and approachable person. I was very excited

I visited this place last week for the first time after a call to the shop revealed an enthusiastic and willing to please owner by the name of Seth. I had been looking for some tires for my mountain bike and he claimed to have a quite a few, so I thought I'd drop by.

What I found was a well organized and nice looking shop with a decent amount of room and various cycle related stuff for road and mountain. In general I would characterize this as a mid-range shop. if you're seeking the high-end stuff that typically graces the covers of magazines don't expect to see it on the floor
