Who knew that sugar free could taste so sweet?! The sugar free shack was founded with the belief that cakes and pastries can still taste great without using refined sugars (cane sugar). The idea was to create a bakery that caters to baby boomers who got a little older (where did the time go?) and now have to watch their food and sugar intake, as well as to the health-conscious adult searching for healthy sugar alternatives.

Flavor wise I'd have to give this place low ratings. I've had other low-carb/keto dessert before and they had way more flavor and better texture than this place. The red velvet cupcakes had little to no flavor or sweetness. They were pretty dense and heavy which isn't the worst but these were completely flavorless. If it wasn't for the frosting which wasn't the sweetest, I wouldn't of known they were cupcakes. Same with the hazelnut cupcake it had a similar flavorless base with a slightly sweet frosting. The brownie was not tasteful it had that low carb after taste

If you're looking for sugar-free, low-carb, and keto-friendly baked goods you have to try this place out. It's a tad expensive so we only treat ourselves to their cookies & muffins once in a while. Recently we've purchased their seasonal DIY Holiday & Mother's Day cookie kits which come with their sugar-free sugar cookies, icing, & sprinkles. This is a nice idea to do with the family just be aware that some of their icings might separate (Tip: massage the piping bags until the separation is gone).

Went here because my SIL is on a keto diet and I wanted to get her some cupcakes. They have a nice selection of keto friendly cupcakes and low carb sweets as well.
Right now they have a promotion, buy 2 cupcakes get 1 free. I got the tres leche, cookies and cream, and praline cupcakes. The tres leche was the best as it was really moist.
The cupcakes were pretty but kind of small (totally forgot to take a pic...). It was located to the side of a big plaza so there were plenty of parking.

This place is my guilty pleasure. I come here once a week and purchase my goodies for the week. I try not too get too much, some weeks I am successful and others, not so much. My favorite items are their low carb loaf bread, their white macadamia nut cookies and their Keto Horchata (summer item). They also have a frequent buyer program. Their items are a little on the expensive side but so it everything else that is good quality. I haven't purchased anything from here that I did not like.

My grandma is diabetic so I was excited to discover this business that is really close to where she lives. I live in another state, and since I couldn't be together with my family for Thanksgiving, I decided to call ahead (Saturday) and order a Pumpkin Pie for the family to pick up today (Wednesday). Ordering by phone went smoothly, but the clover receipt didn't indicate the type of item ordered, it just listed it as "Thanksgiving Sale".
Unfortunately, when my mom went to pick up the pumpkin pie, there was a mix up and the person at the counter insisted that I ordered a cheesecake

I have been craving a cupcake but can never find a place that is good for diabetics. So after searching Yelp on my way home from LA, I stumbled upon this place. I was so excited.
As soon as I walked in, the store was so cute. Lots of sugar free candies on display, decorated cakes, and stuffed animals throughout the space.
The menu though was by far the best! They have low carb and no sugar choices which is amazing. Plus, the taste is great. I couldn't tell there was no sugar.

NOT diabetic friendly at all! I ordered a sugar-free cake based on their claims that their desserts are diabetic friendly. After trying the suspiciously sweet cake, I called back to confirm. The person who answered confirmed the cake I received was sugar-free and diabetic friendly. Then my dad's blood sugar shot up to over 400 (putting him in danger of a diabetic ketoacidosis). Never again. My dad is still trying to get his blood sugar back under control. Reckless business and false advertising. DO NOT put your loved ones in harm's way.

What a novelty.. a whole sugar-free and even low carb bakery! We bought 5 different pieces and they were all rather good. Light and without an after taste. Their cupcakes are moist and just the right for you to try different flavors. Their coffee cake is pretty good too.

Does this stuff taste healthier yes but if you are someone who eats better for health reasons or for personal preferences this is a hidden gem. Due to health reasons I have to eliminate all gluten and sugar from my diet. I don't want to say I have the worst diet in the world because it's actually pretty good but my downfall is sugar and sweets. Having to give that up has been devastating and trying to find a happy medium has been incredibly hard. Making things from scratch can be taxing until I found this place. There are so many options. Everything looked and sounded amazing... I got the tres leches cupcake and my friend got the carrot bundt cake. I asked her what she thought about her dessert and she said, "tastes healthy." I couldn't agree with her more. I was thinking the same exact thing. It definitely wasn't bad - not at all, it just tastes healthy.

I. LOVE. THIS. BAKERY! It is a little pricey, as they use top notch ingredients and great quality pastries! I enjoy their Chocolate Chip Cookies, and my father did too. The cupcakes I tried were Tres Leches, Strawberry, Vanilla, and Red Velvet. My favorite was Tres Leches, and their whipped frosting was so YUM!
If you're looking for a sugar kick, (without the refine sugar) definitely try this little gem.

This review is solely based off of the person that actually eats the treats from here. I'm the one that came across this place while looking for spots that had desserts or treats for a diabetic person.
The fact that everything is sugar free is huge upside. I can now give bakery goods and sweets to my mother who is diabetic, without worrying about her sugar levels spiking up. I've gotten her a little bit

I would like to thank this place for existing. I've been on a keto diet and have been craving sweets every now and then. And this place is just perfect to satisfy my sweet tooth. If you are not on a specific diet restriction, then this might not be the place for you as the texture is different from what you'd expect from regular baked items. But for people like me who is on a no sugar, low carb diet, I want to devour everything in this store.

I tend to stay away from gluten and sugar for inflammatory purposes and I found this gem on Yelp while traveling from LA to OC.
It's a small shop but carries lots of goodies. There are plenty of premade fresh cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and brownies all ready to go and to be eaten. They even do custom cakes to order as well. I regretfully only got one macadamia white chocolate cookie ($3.50 each) and it was very soft and delicious. The person I came with kept wanting to take bites of my cookie. And I wish I got more as I was sadly driving away.

My work bestie is recovering from surgery and bed-bound ON her birthday.
I wanted her to still be able to celebrate, but she lives in Hawthorne, I live in Ventura County... so it's not like I could swing by with a treat.
What's a girl to do? Obviously, I looked up Postmates & order Sugar Free Shack up and sent her a box of cupcakes for delivery.
She absolutely LOVED them! She said the flavors were amazing. She really appreciated that they were sugar free and all natural- her kids didn't get a sugar rush which is always a bonus. Haha

The cinnamon roll tasted better than any other cinnamon roll filled with refined sugar! BOTH of my super picky teens loved it! Some of the frostings are hard but microwave it for a few seconds and it's perfect.

I had heard great things about Sugar Free Shack and needed a birthday gift for a friend that's on a low carb / no sugar diet. First off, I really liked the store decor, it's super fun and bright like an old-fashioned candy shop. And everything looks so fancy and delicious. I googled "sugar-free eateries" in Southern California and I was so happy to happen upon this gem! I'm keto-ish for health reasons, so I really have to watch my intake of refined sugars. I love this place because all of the net carbs are clearly displayed on the case and I love all the options for pastries! One of my favorites is the churro sandwich. Everything tastes so good that I forgot they were sugar-free. Even the lemonade was made with a natural sugar and it was delicious!
