I had a wonderful lunch here. It was very socially distant and well done. I started off with the mussels in a wine sauce and ordered chicken scarpariello for my main course. My friend ordered the fried calamari to start followed by the shrimp Gamberi.
The appetizers were amazing. The calamari was lightly battered very fresh and crisp. The muscles were so tender and the broth was exceptional. We also loved the complimentary lentil dip that was on the table with the fresh bread. Yum!!!
The chicken scarp was tangy and delicious. The sausage was slightly hot, but in a good way. All in all the dish

Hubby + I came here tonight for the first time with another couple and, amongst the 4 of us, the general consensus was WOW. Our server, James, was positively awesome, well versed in the menu and friendly. Dinner was simply delicious from the arugula salad, stuffed clams and rice balls to the special risotto, bronzini and pastas. Everyone enjoyed everything and we all can't wait to return. What an great place!

Went here with friends on a recommendation. The food was very good but not excellent. When we got there place was freezing. A few people asked for heat to be turned up.
Waiter was very good and attentive without being overly in our business.
Appetizers, dinner and dessert were very good bit need a little more to get to excellent.

HORRIBLE. Horrible food. Horrible service. Dirty silverware. Overpriced specials (ask price before ordering specials because they jack up the price). A lot of attention given to some tables and none to others. Only one other table was there when we arrived. Then, at least 3 other tables came and were visited at least 2 times with water, drinks and bread and then revisited and read the specials before we even got a simple hello. Horrible!

We came here on a Sunday and there was a soccer game on in the bar area with cheering fans which made it quite noisy for us. But eventually the game ended and it got quieter. I had the arugula radicchio salad and the gnocchi bolognese with meat sauce, and both were very good. My cosmopolitan was very weak though. My Dad liked his Miso salad and salmon. The waiter never told us the specials, although I overheard him telling the table next to us. The service overall was poor, I had to ask the busboy for a glass of wine. We ordered dessert and that took a while to come out. We felt ignored. We came

I understand with Covid going on things might be different. I got the rice ball appetizer they gave one to me and one to my date. Really? For $10+ you only get two small rice balls? Then my date got the prime rib with absolutely no sauce, no gravy for the mash or red wine sauce no butter on top for $43. My penne vodka was water. Not sure what happened since the other reviews and photos looked amazing. Not going to give them low stars since Covid and maybe had an off day but sadly I won't be back

Visited Gavi this evening with my family. We had a wonderful meal! We all had a different entree and they were all delicious! Service was great, and we loved the outside dining area. It was a special birthday celebration for me, and we were so pleased to have chosen this restaurant....prices are reasonable too.

I went there for lunch. Though the website has executive lunch option, the menu doesn’t have any of this or at least the menu that was given to us. Appetizer, drinks and main food came promptly. if you are ordering the daily specials, do note they could be on the super pricey side (almost $4/shrimp). ;-)

Lived in the area for years; drove by 1000 times but never went in. Finally had dinner at Gavi and loved it. Great menu. Well priced. Best bourbon selection in the area. Good older school Italian (very different than Fortina or Zero Otto, etc). Good old school vibe. Not pretentious. Just decent food with fine service. Will happily go back. And....the spicy calamari - which is not on the menu - is delicious.

We were in on Wednesday night for dinner. My husband and I enjoyed the Italian egg rolls, mixed green salad and rice ball to start. We enjoyed all of it. For dinner we had the Taglioni with shrimp and zucchini which was delicious. Also, we had a pasta with fresh eggplant, mozzarella and marinara sauce which was also very nice. Fresh pasta is the way to go at Gavi.

Yup - 5 stars - and they don't come easy!
Put it this way - if you don't want to drive to Bensonhurst or Ozone Park for some of this classic New York Italian, then you go to GAVI. And I put it up against a few of my favorites from the Bronx.
I find the service to be professional and friendly.
The food is consistently good - at fair prices. Home Run!

Very good food. Great for a night out if you are looking for Italian. All of the apps that we tried were excellent. Really good cold antipasto and the hot was yum too. Eggplant rollatini was fabulous. Clams oreganata were done just right. Chicken scarp was ok. I've had better. But the specials were all excellent. Try a special.
Service overall was 2.5 stars. Bartender with blond hair is clueless and king of nasty. The bar was limited to what she could do and that wasn't much.
