Pediatric Orthopedics Of SW Florida
Pediatric Orthopedics of SW FL strives to provide outstanding comprehensive orthopedic care to children and young adults. We utilize state-of-the-art surgical techniques and believe in practicing evidence-based medicine. From treating simple broken bones to complex congenital conditions, our team is focused on providing patient-centered care that optimizes outcomes and family experience.

While Orthopedic Surgeons treat bone and joint conditions, "Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons" are specially trained to care for the musculoskeletal conditions of infants, children, and adolescents. At Peds Ortho, we specialize in treating all musculoskeletal problems in children.
Services
In 1992, having completed his subspecialty orthopedic training and his commitments to the United States Navy, Dr. Brett Shannon moved to Fort Myers, bringing his expertise and passion for treating children with orthopedic conditions. He embraced the challenge of being the first pediatric orthopedic surgeon to practice in SW FL.
Due to the pandemic, until further notice, we are allowing only one parent per patient in our office. You may not bring any siblings, family members, or friends into our office for your appointment. Both the parent and the patient must wear a mask upon entering and keep it on for the duration of the visit.
Dr. Kristin Cola joined our practice in the fall of 2019. She is originally from Northeast Ohio, where she was born and raised. She spent most of her childhood playing tournament softball all the way into college. Prior to her arrival in SW FL, Dr. Cola trained in her home state of Ohio. She attended medical school at Ohio University and then went on to complete her five-year orthopedic surgery residency in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Ashley C. Ringland, PA-C, is our highly respected, senior advanced provider and one of the staff members most often seen by our patients with fractures in need of casts and splints, and patients with sports injuries. Ashley also assists in surgeries each week. She has been with our practice since 2008.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany worked as a charge nurse (RN) in a level one trauma center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Georgia, and also as an RN in the PICU at Golisano Children's Hospital. Clinical interests include both non-operative and post-operative care of acute fractures, children with a limp, "tiptoe" walking, bone lesions, and providing extra anxiety/pain-reducing measures to each of her patients.

I ‘ve used PedsOrtho since my girls were little and I’ve always been very happy with their services.. front desk always been helpful and cooperating if I had problems, and doctors are the best! This time I met Dr. Hariharan and he was great!!! In the past, I always met Dr. Shannon! I wish they had an office for grown up kids as my girls are going to be over 18... maybe “YOUTH ORTHO”? just a thought....

Went for my son’s appointment and was told to wear a mask. Funny part was that not one other staff person was wearing one. Once I mentioned that, they all of a sudden put theirs on and said they would call the sheriff. Amazing what this country is coming to. The staff members are telling us to wear masks when they are not wearing masks themselves.

Dr.Hariharan is an AMAZING Doctor. He is proffesional, friendly, honest, and caring. He made us very comfortable by explaining procedures in detail. And his follow up skills both via e mail or phone are terrific. This also includes his staff. EVERYONE is caring and willing to help.
One last thing I must say that NO ONE has ever done. He call my son the night before the surgery to assure him it was going to be ok.and to answer any last questions. This meant the world to my son and I who were super nervous.
Till today Dr. Hariharan continues to check on my son's improvement.
He is a blessing 😊

Pleasantly surprised!! I have not had great experiences with doctors and hospitals. But, this was different. My son had a badly broken arm from a skateboarding accident. When I called to make the appointment, the girl was friendly, made a timely appointment, and connected me to the financial department for an estimate and payment options. At the visit, the staff was kind and efficient. It was an afternoon appointment and we were still called in within 10 minutes of the appointment time. The nurses, assistants, and radiologist all called my son by name. It's so nice not to feel like a number. And

Regarding the location on Hollyfern in Fort Myers. The care provided to my son was great. However, regardless and very dishonest billing. My son broke his arm. We paid our co pay at every visit. At about the 5th visit, my wife was in the middle of the main lobby checking our son in and the staff advised her we had a balance of over $400. My wife advised them that we never received a bill. The staff said insurance had just given them what they would cover a week prior and that this balance was remaining. The staff then pressed my wife in the middle of the lobby about how much we would be paying

This is at the location in Naples Fl. The doctor did not even introduce herself when entering the room to exam my daughter. We were informed by the doctor herself that we would need an authorization for the MRI. I called my insurance company as was told. I did not want to end up with a large bill due to no authorization on file. My insurance called and spoke to a Norma. They stated she was rude with them. She placed them on hold to call me and was just as rude to me. Between no introduction and rude staff we will be taking our daughter somewhere else. So if you don't mind rudeness and a doctor

My 2 year old seemed to have hurt his foot or ankle at mini golf. I took him to the er and they were very dismissive and didn't even have him walk to see where the injury was. I decided to take him here for a second opinion. After watching my son walk for a second the doctor x rayed his leg to find out he fractured his tibia. We decided to cast him for 2 weeks and made a full recovery. Everyone was super nice and accommodating.. I had a lovely experience. I was also impressed with all of their covid protocols. I felt very safe.

This place sucks.
A place where parents are not allowed, parents that care about their child, with a daughter that wants both of her parents present.
With the whole saloon full of empty chairs, (only 2 persons seated) I had to be outside, this is fatherhood discrimination.
COVID-19 should not be a reason to isolate a family, when everyone going there is healthy and just want to be present. It’s just doesn’t make any sense to have such a policy, specially when we were not even told this was going to happen.
Shame on you Pediatrics orthopedic of Fort Myers.
What a nice value you are showing

Awful!!! My child's primary physician has already seen and checked my child, Pediatrician sent over the referral and their Dr. at this place has to still examine my child for them to determine if my child needs an MRI? I'll be looking for another office, I'd rather travel to a better more patient friendly facility, being slick with the billing using 2 different codes to get your facility paid, that's fraud!
