Went there for the first time today. I was in the mood for chicken fried steak. The one I had at a competitor's down the street was largely disappointing so I was hoping for better. This one was a little better due to better sausage gravy. But the chicken fried steak itself was the same. Bland and kind of tough. The eggs were good and perfectly cooked. The side of pancakes were very good but really unnecessary due to the size of the main breakfast portion. Service from wait person Kari was excellent although she didn't wear her mask over her nose, which is a no no.

My daughter and I recently traveled through Yachats, and stumbled upon this restaurant. My girl has Celiac and therefore can't have any gluten. It was great to see they offered GF hamburger buns, which she was very happy with and enjoyed her burger.
I tried the chili burger. Very filing and good portion. Was hoping for homemade chili, but it was canned. Which was fine, I mean this is a place you go to for fine dining.
The service was excellent... like really excellent. Think Bill & Ted saying "excellent" and that's the kind of service we had. Our server was on top of

Found the reviews of LeRoy's pretty spot on. We were greeted by a friendly attitude and were seated right away. We were warned that they had just finished with a big rush & we're playing catch up. This acknowledgement was greatly appreciated!
I had the chili & would rate it as about the same quality of a canned chili (thus 4 stars).
My husband had the clam chowder & scallops and found them to be very good.
We were assured that the fries were not cooked in the same grease & I was very happy to see they had no fishy taste to them!
Our server was Danelle and she did a great

Small town diner with beachy down to earth atmosphere. Our server, Diana, was so friendly. She made us feel very at home & was helpful with any questions we had about the restaurant and the town.
They have homemade pie that was out of this world good! Try it!!

I have a service dog that stays next to me, toy poodle. She does not go on the ground, she is on a blanket on the bench. She has manners, nose stays off the table. The waitress informed me that she would have to go onto the floor, I told her she stays next to me, on my lap or bench. Just fyi, if you have a service dog, with the need for them go be next to you, this is not the restaurant for you. We had to leave. They allow kids to stand on the benches, but not a service dog that is laying down and behaved.

We ordered the fish sandwich and the BLTSS. The BLTSS was good, but the fish sandwich was terrific - it's basically two big pieces of fish (the kind you'd get for a fish & chips), in between two pieces of bread and tartar sauce. The fish was not oily or greasy at all, and although the sandwich was really messy to eat, with fish and tartar sauce everywhere on my face, it was delicious. Would 100% get this again.
Also got a cup of clam chowder with this, and it was just my type - thick and creamy. Some clam chowders are a little more thin and watery

They are open during covid, and we placed a takeout order for lunch. We got the fish and chips, clam chowder, and a slice of chocolate cream pie. They even offered us takeout bowls of water for the dogs! I was very impressed with how friendly the staff was to us, and how quickly our food was ready. The fish and chips were SO yummy and had a delicious batter. My husband thought the clam chowder was "woah-so good" from the first bite. The chocolate cream pie was rich and decadent and so big I had to save it for a snack later. I would definitely stop here again!

We are back going to the Blue Whale after not going for almost three years. Why not for three years when we live in they area, because our waitress last time was the most disrepectful person I had met. When we finally got our meal it was stone cold. I mentioned it to the waitress and she agrued with me when I asked to have it warmed up. She said let me take it, but before she took it she purposely put her finger in my potatoes and gravy and said seems fine to me. At that point we got up to leave and never went back. Until now.

Okay where do I even start - this is my new FAVOURITE restaurant
The hostess greeted us warmly and our server Casey was absolutely wonderful. She was prompt and anticipatory of our needs, and friendly to boot.
The food and prices were great and came out quickly, with perfect portion sizes.
I fancy myself a pie connoisseur and I was MIGHTILY impressed with their pie selection. The decor and nautical mural is adorable too. Dont miss your chance to grab a quick, reasonably priced, delicious meal!

We've been coming here for years. Best dining value in Yachats of not the coast. Very friendly and non pretentious. If you're looking to be entertained during your dining experience this isn't your place. If you're looking to get seated and served quickly and enjoy a very nice and filling meal at a reasonable price this is your place. Best chowder in the area even better than the local expensive places.

Service was great! Everyone was very nice, and helpful, great food! Had a cup of chowder with the philly burger, and fish and chips, also had a piece of boysenberry pie. Great price $44, could only eat half the food, was a lot of food, would go again!!!

I don't know what the 1 Star people are talking about, but being from California where we are used to all kinds of rude and unpleasant folks; this place was awesome. Food was great, the server DIANE was on it! She checked and over checked on us and was very pleasant! Yes, Covid was a pain in the rear, becasue half the tables were blocked. But we still sat in a minute, window seat.

We thought it was going to be ok but not that good. But they surprised us. I had the prime rib and my wife had the fish and chips. Both meals were really good. My baby is allergic to peanuts and the waitress was nice enough to even go read the label for the oil they use even after the chef told her that it was vegetable oil.
