Bicycle Angels is a registered 501 (C3) non-profit charity that makes a free road bicycle loan to people that are registered to participate in, and fund raise for, a charity cycling or triathlon event, but don't have a suitable bike to use - and are not ready to purchase a road bike of their own. By providing a free bike loan specifically and only for eligible events, we help remove a major barrier to charity fundraising.
Many of our borrowers continue to ride and do repeat charity fundraising events. We also help engage new people into the sports of cycling and triathlons. As such, we also help support the bicycle industry and bike shops, because about half of our loan recipients later go on to buy their own bike.

We were coaching/training people to cycle 100 miles and raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Many of our trainees were first-time endurance event participants. We found that some first timers didn't have an adequate road bike to train for and complete a cycling event. Imagine riding 100 miles and climbing big hills on a heavy beach cruiser or city bike!
You will need to come to our regional office to check out the bike, sign our paperwork, and get fitted. You will also need a valid form of I.D., such as a California Driver's License, a valid MasterCard or Visa (we only charge this if you lose or damage the bike), and proof that you are enrolled in the eligible charity event.
Team Bicycle Angels is a recreational cycling group sponsored by Bicycle Angels. The group is open to all levels of road cyclists. Our Team participates in a variety of fundraising bike events, such as the Tour de Cure for Diabetes, MS Coastal Challenge, and Arthritis Foundation California Coastal Classic.
Bicycle Angels helps create more cyclists by giving them a chance to participate in their first endurance cycling event or triathlon by loaning them a bike to use. Here's a list of kind folks from the bicycle industry who have supported Bicycle Angels through a generous donation. Ritchey Logic Bikes has the distinction of being the first bicycle manufacturer to donate a bike to Bicycle Angels.
We currently have a fleet of over 300 road bikes in six cities (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Salt Lake City) ranging in size from 43 cm to 61 cm. Our bicycles are well-maintained and are provided to eligible participants in good condition, ready to serve the participant to train for and complete a charity fundraising cycling event.
