Services
Menu/Food: We serve buffet style in the Quarterdeck. We have multiple buffet options available. Decided on an individual basis. Time/Pricing: We require that parties reach a $600 minimum in food and drink sales, before automatic gratuity and tax are added. This reserves up to 4 hours of room use. Additional time can be added for $50 per hour, and must be arranged for prior to your event.
Cozy on up to our buddy bar overlooking the Puget Sound and enjoy the view. Ideal for early birds, telecommuters, or anyone desiring a quiet space, patrons of our own Coffee Cabin are welcome to grab a warm beverage & baked good, then come utilize this quiet workspace most days before 11am. Perfect for groups up to 20 guests, this new meeting & event space is located on the same level as the restaurant.
Topside's Ward Room features a wine bar serving small plates while catering to refined palettes in a casual, comfortable space right in downtown Steilacoom. Located on the first floor in the back half of the Topside Coffee Cabin, Steilacoom's own Chef Rob creates culinary delights and tasty snacks to order.

I have been here many times before and have always enjoyed the meal. The calamari is delicious and highly recommended as an appetizer!
My latest experience was last week on my birthday. We were sat quickly, which was nice because there always seems to be a wait.
Food was delicious and service was prompt. The best ranch and bbq sauce! Loved it with my burger!
Shout out on the kids meals... it was my first time bringing the kids there. The kids meals were so reasonable in price compared to other places we eat, and the quality was excellent.

My family had dinner here and we were disappointed. The dining area is small and congested. Which isn't an huge issue. The food was horrible and the cooks were extremely dirty. The bar tender constantly played in his hair and picked his face. One of the servers went from the dining area to the rest room in her disposable gloves and came out with the gloves on, you can literally see everything because the restaurant is so small. The food was horrible, the only thing that we were satisfied with was the bottled bud light beer. I had the Chinese five spice chicken, my husband had steak and potatoes

So glad we were able to finally eat here. It seems to be a popular place because there always seems to be at least an hour wait. Understandable with Covid restrictions. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the local beers they had on tap. I had the fish and chips very good! Would recommend. Husband got the steak salad, it was fresh and really good.

YESSSSSS! Topside exceeded my expectations. My fiancé and I were exploring places around us, as we are new to the area. We wanted to check out Steilacoom, so we spent some time at the park down the street and walked around until we were starving. My fiancé saw Topside and suggested it as he wanted some beer with lunch. We got there and it was a 20 minute wait and we were so hungry we were going to wait, especially since it was packed, it had to be good right? I really enjoyed the food, our server was so nice and attentive.. i just wish they gave more focus on the people seated than their online orders ( which were A LOT, their bar side was filled with paper bags and to go boxes! )
We waited 40-45 minutes for our food, while the other people seated later than us got complimentary appetizers, and we didn't lol.
Nevertheless we enjoyed the food and the cocktails, and tipped 20% because y'all know everyone is struggling especially restaurants.

Years since we initially fell in love with topside. We travel a LOT and we always come back to this place because the continue to be consistent in quality and service. Absolutely love the owners and how they are so gracious and care so much. I'm never ever disappointed. Fish and Chips

Had lunch with a friend here and I ordered the Mac and cheese. Delicious!! They have a lovely rooftop bar that allows you to watch the ferry boats drift in and out of the dock, parking below the restaurant (drive your mini coopers! It's tight!) and around the restaurant, and a nice cozy atmosphere. Very nice place for lunch with friends or a romantic date night.

I'm so glad this restaurant has stayed open during COVID. They have excellent food, delicious appetizers like these Nachos. I got pulled pork but on the side very sweet and tangy and not fatty at all. Wish the cheese was more soft and melted but this is what happens when real cheese is used. They have delicious deserts brownie with ice cream is just delicious. They also deliver for free!!!! What a gem

Went to the farmer's market (Wednesday's 3-7pm) and walked over to Topside for dinner. There is a garage that has spots for guests dining at Topside (we didn't know until we walked to the elevator). We parked a block or so away at one of the 2 hour parking spots.
The calamari steak strips were delicious! I had to fish and chips and with fries which were crispy, and the fish flaky! My husband got the clam chowder, which he said was very dill flavored, but still good. I didn't like the tartar sauce that came with the dish (also too much dill) but asked for the Siracha aioli that

This place has so much potential. The atmosphere and viene are the only reason we have come back, but after this last time I'm not sure we will. Our family goes here every now and then, at least 10 times in last year, and have had totally mixed experiences. The burgers have never been correctly cooked to order, we had somewhat frozen fritters, and the last straw was this sweet pickles appetizer. For ten dollars you get almost too sweet of pickles from the store, stale crackers, and mayo. This is not restaurant food unfortunately. We don't want to be those people who send the food back

We ordered the calamari steak strip ($13), Fish N' Chips ($17), South Sound Chicken salad ($16), Raspberry Lemonade ($3.50, free refills), a beer and a cider. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and to be honest, the food we had was two-star worthy. The only thing worth coming back for is their chips from their fish and chips. It was thinly sliced, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. Their menu is the standard "bar and grill" food that you will find anywhere in Tacoma. The prices are a little steep but I feel like it's due to location. You are paying for the view
