Villa Maria Academy
Each student works with one school counselor for four years, who gets to know and understand her. The student's college counselor joins the school counselor to help each student find her best-fit college. Go to the Online Open House to visit virtual classrooms to meet faculty, learn about the curriculum, and get an overview of special programs and activities.

Explore our beautiful campus using our 360° tour. Consistent with our IHM charism and the IHM Congregation, Villa Maria Academy High School supports our brothers and sisters of color and commit ourselves to pray and to work for a change of heart in all who harbor racism of any kind.
Services
Villa Maria's tradition of musical excellence includes: orchestra, concert choir, Madrigal singers, Tri-M Music Honor Society, handbell choir, All-Catholic Ensemble, Music Ministry, and String Ensemble. Each year, Villa Maria students are selected to perform in All-Catholic District Chorus, Orchestra and Band.
In 2013, Sister Regina Ryan established an IHM Charism Committee of Villa Maria's Advisory Board. The mission of the group was to find concrete ways to keep the influence and memory of the IHM Sisters alive and tangible. The result of the Committee's deliberations is our Book of Principals, which identifies and honors the 26 women who have served Villa Maria Academy as principal since 1872.
The Scholars Diploma curricular track challenges students with academic potential through the Scholars Seminar, laying the foundation for independent research in their high school experience. An articulation with Immaculata University allows eligible students to take Dual Enrollment coursework on site at Villa Maria and receive college credit for a nominal fee.
Freshman and Sophomore Seminars cover such topics as time management, organizational and study skills, high school life, college preparedness, building a strong college applicant profile, and career choices. Sophomores explore personal, extracurricular and academic interests and the way these relate to various career options.
Classroom time is devoted to engaging each student in a community of discourse through reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Critical thinking is fostered and encouraged as students develop an appreciation and understanding of both classic and contemporary literature. Within both the college prep and honors courses, students approach literature as a means to explore our world and communication as a tool to express perceptions of that world.

Fantastic school promoting young girls to become leaders. The teachers and the guidance department do an amazing job with counseling and guiding the students through the college journey.

I think this whole response to one review just kind of shows what villa was to a lot of us. Someone says that there were real problems and tries to bring them up and theres a whole group of people trying to silence them. Villa was toxic to some people and caused a lot of problems so drowning them out really int going to do anything to help the school in the end.

My days at VMA were absolutely the best - to this day my favorite people in my life are my friends from high school. I cannot and will not deny that I had a lot of hard days there. The environment can be very high-pressure, and challenging both mentally and physically with the academic rigor and high levels of student involvement. Additionally, as… someone who really struggled with matters of faith, much of the four years of mandatory theology classes did deeply upset me. All that being said, looking back now as a senior in college, I would not trade it for the world. The Catholic values

Best experience of my life! Came from public school knowing one other person in the school. The Villa community embraced me into the Villa family. I can still return to this campus after 30 years and feel loved. The education, guidance, and experiences are all at top level. College was an easy transition, and I have made friends that will last a… lifetime. I have 2 daughters: one whom already graduated from Villa and is exceling in college and her personal life due to the wonderful foundation Villa has given her. My second daughter has just started at Villa and already has found what a rewarding

I transferred into villa as a junior and immediately felt accepted, loved, and cared for. It quickly became a happy place for me. In just two short years, Villa helped me transform into a confident, strong, caring, and appreciative individual.

I can't address the concerns about creativity, etc, expressed by another reviewer, but I can speak to my experience as a parent of a Villa grad. My daughter asked to go to Villa. She participated in sports, orchestra and of course charitable activities. She is now waiting to hear from a PhD program in England where she wants to continue her work with children with chronic illnesses and their siblings who are often the last to get help. I was diagnosed with cancer when my daughter was in 10th grade. My husband was diagnosed one month later. He didn't survive. The nuns were a blessing
