Stripers Bar & Grille

The bar was hopping however, we sat upstairs in the restaurant since we had small children. The upstairs restaurant was like a ghost town for 6:00 on a Saturday. My shrimp were really good and the slaw was great too. My husband ordered the fried grouper and it was slightly under cooked but still edible. The waitress/bartender was very friendly and attentive. Prices were a little high, other than that, everything was good. Nothing truly exceptional to bring me back though, just OK.

Let me tell you that this place is hard to find, but once you find it and try their fresh fish, you'll want to keep coming back. This bar and grille is nestled in a little condo community on the water with docks. Your GPS might not know where to go, as ours didn't, and we had to use Google Maps.

We were immediately seated when we walked in and decided to eat outside under the sun and with great views of the water.

I had a bloody Mary and it was great. Very potent and I was extremely good after one, plus they are filling.

Love this place! Especially since we can walk over from where we life. The quesadilla is my favorite thing on the menu! The $5 mimosas on Sunday are great too! It’s fun sitting outside and watching the boats come in and out!

The oyster stew is to die for! All of the seafood is fresh and delicious. The cocktails are stellar. Thursday night trivia is a blast. Just go there, you will see for yourself.

I am from New Jersey and have been visiting the Outer Banks for as long as I can remember and I stop here almost every time I visit. They are yet to disappoint not only does the food come out looking good but the tastes are out of this world. Many times we skip desert just to keep the flavors of dinner in our mouths. This will forever be one of our favorite places to grab a bite in the OBX.

This restaurant was fantastic. It was a bit small, so it could be cramped over the summer time. The overlook on the second floor is fantastic! Our waiter was also super friendly and funny. I tried the tortellini here with scallops and shrimp‘s. It was to die for, it was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this dish to anybody. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I were very disappointed with the experience this past weekend. We decided to grab lunch on the way home to the mainland and, being Sunday, not much was open, but Striper's was and I asked my wife to go in to see if there was a wait or how the situation looked. She texted back that she'd gotten us a table right away, so I parked the vehicle and joined her.

The wait staff was pleasant, but not very informative of the situation going on in the kitchen. We ordered a couple of beers, checked out the menu, looked at the other tables around to see their service, and placed an

Bittersweet coming back to the area. We got married 9 years ago by Ann Bell and this restaurant was what she had recommended for lunch afterwards. She has since passed on but this place is still here. Excellent food, atmosphere, and view.

The food was awesome and the service was top notch! Rich (waiter) is a wealth of knowledge on the area.. Came from 2 hrs away and was greeted with that southern hospitality I know and love .. Be blessed Rich! What a great place…we will be back! ✌️

Came for an early dinner around 5pm. Started with the cream of crab soup. It had a good amount of crab but it was too sweet for me; it was also warm when I got it not hot. 80 minutes later we got our Cobb salad and crab dip. Crab dip was mushy and had no flavor. My daughters fried shrimp was dark brown and tasted horrible. Horrible. One of the worst meals ever!

Absolutely blown away by how good the food and service was. Will definitely be coming back next time I visit. We sat outside and the view was amazing, the breeze was nice and our server was sweet.

This is a very nice restaurant. It has a nice view of the ocean, has a nice vibe, and the food was delicious. If it was on these things alone, it would have been 5 stars. The food was flavorful, and there was a nice peaceful atmosphere.
At 5:09, we ordered our food. I ordered the Queso Fries as an appetizer and the Fish Reuben. The Queso Fries were delicious and had a nice spicy zing.
At 6:26, our main dishes arrived. That is the sole reason why I rated this 4 stars. I'm pretty sure that there were only two chefs who were making our orders, however, and the 2nd floor did not have its own

Very happy with meal, large piece of grilled grouper- even had leftovers, beautiful views, saw a few ships come it during meal, happy hour is low price on some appetizers like steamed shrimp, our friend had the chocolate cookie dough cake that's enough for 3 folks,, great cocktails, service, water/tea constantly refilled by all staff, and under $120 for 4 plus tip.

If you are looking for the view and great food with drinks, then this is the place you want. Their drinks, dragon berry splash and ruby relaxer, are awesome. Sweet, tangy, and strong enough to be fun! Their crab dip and fried fish are awesome too. It was a bit more on saltier side for me but some might find it okay. Their catch of the day which was Mahi was awesome too. It wasn't too salty or anything. Cooked well as well. Service was okay not bad either. Try the place if it interests you.

Best crab dip I have ever had. We got crab legs, crab cakes, fried shrimp, calamari, and shrimp tortellini. No complaints. Delicious. Awesome views. Awesome service. I cannot wait to take my family back.

Stopped for lunch and was satisfied. Food was fast but delicious and our waitress was nice. Crab dip was tasty, the chicken on the nachos was incredible, and my husband said his pulled pork sandwich was good but could've used some BBQ sauce. Losing a star because the nice deck out back doubles as the designated smoking area and no one needs to breathe in or smell smoke while they're eating.

If you want to be served frozen, half rotten Mahi that's being passed off as STRIPER at a restaurant called Striper's....well this is the place for you. And don't bother trying to reach out to fix the issue, it'll be ignored. This is so unfortunate when there are so many local fish houses in the surrounding area to purchase fresh caught local seafood. The chicken enchiladas were decent as well as the salads. The crab soup was more similar to crap dip, bogged down with tons of cream, but did have a good amount of crab.

Was our first stop when we arrived on a Friday. Service was great, not crowded at all. Waitress was awesome in recommending options and places go visit in the area. We ordered famous wings, steamed shrimp and fish tacos. Loved the fish tacos.. we will definitely add this place to our faves in OBX.

After our walk and got back to the house we discussed where to go out for dinner. First we were going to try Pamlico Jacks but it was dark and no cars in the parking lot even though their Facebook page and Google said they were open. Then we thought lets go to Sugar Creek again and pulled into their parking lot but then I mentioned Strippers in Manteo and Don said let's go there so we did.

This is a true waterfront gem! We stopped here for late lunch and were seated immediately (this was weekday around 4 pm). We shared buffalo shrimps and crab dip and had lobster bisque and a salad with extra fish. The pictures speak for itself - it was delicious! The hostess/waitress was so nice and pleasant, hands down this was the best service in the OBX!
Highly recommend and we’ll be definitely coming back!

Waitress was incompetent, forgot to place our order, walked past our table multiple times only to finally tell us (after 1 hour) that she had forgotten to place our order. She told us that our order would be expedited. 30 minutes later, still no food. Requested to speak to a manager, none appeared. As my companion said on his way out, you have to try hard to be this bad"

Fun place with a nice view of the water & boats! We sat outdoors & enjoyed their specialty drinks. Cucumber martini was delish! Ordered the crab dip - OMG it was amazing - this is something you MUST order! Came with crispy pita bread - yum! There were many great things on the menu but we were only there for drinks & an app.

Parking is a little difficult - not too many spots as this restaurant is located in a residential condo area.

Ate at Stripers tonight and it was delicious. With Covid, we got there early and he the whole place to ourselves. There was a group of six of us. We ordered the queso appetizer and it was so so good. The chips tasted fresh and the cheese had a great flavor. For our meals, we ordered fish and chips, the rockfish Reuben, crabcake sandwich, fried chicken BLT, and grilled shrimp Alfredo. Everything was delicious and tasted homemade, especially the Alfredo. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone trying to avoid the touristy hotspots.

Eating out every day on the Outer banks after being cooped up at home the last few months. So happy to have found Stripers in Manteo Water views, fresh fish, friendly service. Perfect for a rainy day at the beach.

We stumbled upon this restaurant doing a search for a place to eat after shopping in Manteo, and with decent reviews and the hope of decent parking, we headed on over. Tucked in the back of a condo complex, it wasn't easy to find, but once inside, the view is just stunning. Based solely on that, it would be a five star restaurant. But then we ordered food.

We'll start with the fact that the waitress made it seem we were a bit of an inconvenience in her day. She wasn't overly attentive, and we had to distract her from other things to get a drink refill and to ask about our soup.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. We were looking for a place with blackened fish and fish tacos. Plus, I don't care for seafood, so a place that pleases everyone is hard to find. We got that here!!! Everyone loved what they ordered.
The food was great and the service was fantastic. There were not too many people on a Saturday at 6pm which was nice. Being in Manteo is beautiful and the view here is wonderful! We have a vacation home in OBX and will definitely be back!

Great lunch spot - here on a sunny Sunday and we loved the chicken sandwich with fries and the crab omelet with cheesy grits! Great staff - they hustle! Lovely view and the vibe is somehow upscale casual. It's tucked back in a condo development, so keep driving and you'll find it!
