Taiko Japanese Restaurant

We ordered habachi, and I got the chicken and shrimp combo. The diced chicken was juicy and the shrimp were rather large and well seasoned. It was very delicious and portions were just right. I will definitely come back again.

The food was great but I was not expecting the “take out only” situation. I mean I now it is still covid time but good hygiene goes a long way in keeping people safe and doesn’t require complete shutdown of inside service area. We got our order placed and headed next door and quickly wished we had just dined at the nearby Irish joint.

I got some hibachi steak from taiko and it was delicious! The only thing that disappointed me was the rice. I asked for fried and they gave me white :/ other than that - no complaints 👍🏻

Rarely visit obx, this place is a must-go-to when we're here. Always, always very, very good.

Really great spot for sushi. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fried rice i got was amazing, no like seriously, im not even a huge fried rice person and this was super yummy.
We tried about 4 different sushi rolls and all were great and fresh.
Your curbside process is very easy and convenient and the employees we interacted with were friendly as well.
If there's one suggestion I could make, is that we couldn't find the kids menu section anywhere at all on the website. We would've called to make our order instead but we were already halfway through making the online order.

I went in last week for dinner, ( because its tucked in the side of OBX mall it can be overlooked) I had not ate here since having major heart surgery, wow! I was so pleasantly surprised at how good the food still was, with new heart valves, its important to watch how I eat, so the delicious healthy vegetable alternatives were great, but I will admit I did eat the spring rolls... and the hibachi rice.. yummy, and NOT overly greasy, and obviously the oil is fresh,**** told sushi was awesome as well.. The sushi, sashimi and rice were all amazing. We were able to try some new things like eel, uni, red snapper, mackerel and others that we really enjoyed! The tamago and the masago were also very delicious. The service was friendly and quick, always refilling our glasses and making sure we were satisfied. It is a small restaurant so there might be a wait on a busy night but all in all would recommend.

Great sushi. I had the Taiko roll and the Sunset roll. Both were good, but the Taiko roll was top notch. The decor is lacking, but it's nice for a strip mall restaurant. The portions of everything except for sushi were good sized. Every member big our party was satisfied. We will definitely be returning next year.

Sushi was average. Place is small but clean. Waitstaff is friendly but extremely slow. Food comes out quick, but like I said it’s average quality. Not many other sushi places if any to find in the area. They are expensive. They charged my 3 year old daughter $6 for a small plate of noodles. NC is suppose to be the most friendliest state. Well, they do not offer military discount, so they apparently didn’t get the memo.
