Services
The Dunes proudly utilizes sustainable products sourced locally and regionally whenever possible in our support of North Carolina farmers, fishermen and purveyors. We would like to recognize Etheridge Seafood, O'Neals Seafood Market, Fresh Catch, The Captains' Oysters and Kevin O'Neal (softshells) for supplying our local seafood.
This state-of-the-art Nags Head bar is stocked for just about any cocktail concoction you can think up, plus a few Dunes specialty drinks created by our friendly bartenders. We have an extensive wine list, both by the glass and by the bottle, as well as a wide variety of beers by local and regional breweries, including the Outer Banks' newest brewery, The Lost Colony.
Roxie Pritchard and her retail manager, Angela Horne, are both known for their Southern style, good taste and ability to really pull together all measure of accessories to create some visually exciting Outer Banks 'bling'. So whether you're looking for jewelry, purses, accessories, or fun art, there's a lot to take in at 'Roxie's Retail'.

My daughter suggested this place for breakfast, I had never been there before. I am so glad I gave in and went with her!! Staff was friendly, food was delicious and was decently priced. Neither of us could finish all the food they gave us. I have only been for breakfast so far but I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great tasting and filling meal.

We have eaten at The Dunes for years, it's always been great but tonight was special. We saw that this was their last evening serving dinner for the year so we made it a point to go. Patrick was our waiter and went out of his way to be patient and accommodating. It was my Wife and I first time having Patrick as a waiter, but won't be our last. Our daughter commented that she's had him before with kids and he was no different. Thank you Patrick for your exceptional attitude and service, you made our evening. To the owners of The Dunes, hold on to this guy, he is a good one!

I hate when a restaurant goes backwards in quality and presentation.
Our server, Amy, was fantastic. She deserves 4!stars.
The Dunes drops to 2.5, but I will leave 3 stars upntop just because of Amy.
The shrimp and grits disappeared from the dinner menu. The hush puppies came out cold. The crab dip appetizer was a minimalist portion for the price.
It's just sad.
I had to find something new. Nothing looked great on the paper menu they dropped off but I always like a good bowl of clam chowder, so I figured I give that a try with a wedge salad. I struck out with the soup.

The food and service is pretty darn good...more on that later... but the GIFT SHOP is something to flip your flip-flops for! Made for mermaids and seafarers, I plundered the place and left with a huge sack of booty!! I found dozens of mermaid gifts: mugs, signs, soaps, salt & pepper shakers, tea towels, jewelry, toys and more! I went a bit crazy over all the cute items, but hey, that's what vaca is for, lol!! Seas the day and visit this adorable shop even if you don't get a chance to dine here! My friend bought a lovely handbag there, too!

We had a group of 10 people come in for breakfast. We were seated quickly. Brittany was our waitress and she was absolutely wonderful! It was the best service we have had down here - Brittany was extremely friendly and fast, the food was DELICIOUS and the portions were huge, and the restaurant itself was impeccably clean. I got the Popeye Omelette and it was so good - stuffed full of cheese, spinach, bacon, and onion. The hash browns were hands down best I've ever tasted and SO crispy. My nephew's chocolate chip pancakes were stuffed with chocolate and didn't even need syrup. 5 stars for food and

Special shout out to Zach, our server! Zach was the best and brightened our day/vacation.
Overall - we had a wonderful time on a spontaneous decision to visit The Dunes restaurant. We were quoted a 30 min wait but only waited about 10. Given the busy season and all the insanity that’s taken place over the past year, this place was wonderful, well organized, everyone was friendly, and the food was wonderful.

I would not go back here for breakfast. As with almost every restaurant, there was a wait for a table, but they notify you via text so you don't have to sit in the waiting area, so that was appreciated. Our server was marginal to poor, avoiding our table about 5 times while we needed service. But the real problem was the wait of over 30 minutes for our order for a party of two. After about 15 minutes I realized something was wrong but I couldn't find our waiter to ask what was going on. I actually had to get up and find somebody else. But their explanation was absolutely the worst excuse, saying

Lots of really nice restaurants out here in the Outerbanks, but The Dunes really hits the spot when it comes to prime breakfast cuisine. Reasonably priced, great ambience, and overall great food. Our waiter Alex was really friendly and attentive too. Would definitely come back again.
Highly recommend getting their Bellini drink, the perfect breakfast drink to start the day!

We had breakfast here on 4th of July. We expected and were prepared for a long wait time however we were pleasantly surprised to walk in and be seated right away. The breakfast and mimosas were delicious. Brittany D. was our server. She was super quick and really friendly. First time at this restaurant and I can say we will definitely be back!

We arrived and were greeted awesomely. Wilson our server came over and greeted us again and took our orders for drinks, appetizers & mains. I have to say that everything that came out of the kitchen was SPOT ON! Steaks, wings, salads and a good stiff drink. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to Our Family & yours. Stop in enjoy and be full when you get home.

This was a great breakfast and for a great price! The service was wonderful. Even with a burnt waffle served. (It was hard) he brought out a new meal without a burnt waffle and apologized. No Big deal.
The atmosphere was clean and aesthetically pleasing.
The only bummer was what our waiter called "no fun Sunday" he couldn't serve us mimosas because it was Sunday. Lol

This review is for the breakfast -- this was a great breakfast spot!
Huge, buttery biscuits, yummy shredded breakfast potatoes and the eggs were a bit greasy but otherwise cooked well.
The biscuit is a MUST! It was one of my favorites I had in NC.
Our waitress was sweet and service was fast. I would absolutely be back.

This restaurant is open for inside dining using all the safety precautions. Serving an amazing breakfast & dinner located in Nagshead MP 16 it is worth the drive !! Highly recommend getting there before 9AM because it gets busy for breakfast!! Hostess greeted us nicely and seated us immediately. Waiter was very prompt and paid attention to details - my mom needs a lot of special requests and he didn't get aggravated - that right there makes all the difference! We ended up splitting the Belgian waffle platter. Food was hot and great! I also got chocolate chips on the side which made the

My first time breakfasting (really brunch since it was 11:30) here and they did not disappoint! Zach was our awesome waiter and took great care of us, he was rolling but always asked how we were when he went by. Our food came out quickly and while it was still hot, very generous portions and so so good! All booths have dividers between and the tables are nicely spaced out.
