Services
In 1986, Congress passed an act that created the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, designed to protect the natural, scenic and cultural resources of the gorge. The mission statement within the act called for a Washington State lodge and meeting center to be built - Skamania Lodge.

The Washington State lodge was designed to be reminiscent of the great lodges of early 1900's, which had charm and appeal, and contained all modern guest conveniences. Thus, the design of the four-story Cascadian style lodge, with high-pitched roofs, interesting uses of timbers, wood paneling and native stone came to fruition.
Venture into the Gorge where swift waters meet the evergreen forest you'll find a place of rugged beauty where adventure meets tranquility. Feel the pull that drew pioneers to freedom centuries ago. Be enveloped by the same inspiration to discover. Skamania Lodge is a place where you see the world a bit differently.
Skamania Lodge strives to provide accessibilty services and accommodations to help all of our guests who may have additional needs or requirements. Our commitment to accessibility is a hallmark of our hospitality and ensures that all individuals can experience our extraordinary accommodations. Our environment is part of our identity, and we intend to protect it. Skamania Lodge continues to take actionable steps towards sustainability and be a leader in environmental best practices. Opting into the program will forgo daily housekeeping room services and in turn, reduce water consumption, electricity usage and the amount of chemicals used daily.
The National Forest Foundation's Forest Stewardship Fund gives our Columbia River Gorge resort guests an easy way to be stewards of our amazing public lands. Throughout the country, when you stay at participating lodges, you may voluntarily contribute $1 per room night to the Forest Stewardship Fund, to enhance the National Forest or Scenic Area adjacent to where the funds are collected.

Skamania Lodge was a horrid disappointment in every way. I tried to purchase a gift card for $200.00 a week before Christmas with a 2-day shipping timeline and it never showed up. I called about 3 days before Christmas to ask about the ETA and was told there was a "note on the website telling customers we ran out of gift cards and they would be shipped after Christmas". I said "I never saw that" the guy checked while on the phone with me and said, "oh ya I don't see it on here, well that's what we were told but I can't find it". I was never sent an email

Restaurant is extremely slow. Resort lacks dinning and shopping for snacks options. Poorly managed.

Beautiful setting. The dinner at the restaurant was wonderful. They will be going through a remodel at the beginning of 2022. Rooms and amenities will be limited.

We went there for a weekend, and it was great!
The road to the lodge was magnificent with beautiful natural view.
The lodge itself has many amenities that would make sure your time is full (zip lining, indoor spa/pool, hiking trails).
Will definitely come back for a longer vacation

Highly recommend this place if you’re seeking somewhere on the Columbia river gorge area. So many activities and trails to do right in the area. Get the room facing the river gorge because there’s some amazing sunrises you don’t want to miss. The amenities are great. The room was great, and even though I went during the beginning of March with covid rules. You still were able to enjoy the hot tub for a certain time frame and the person kept track of the time, and it was highly organized to not allow more time so others could have time if there was a line.
Gorgeous all around. Can’t say

The lodge is stunning with its modern rustic style. We stayed for one night just to get away, and it was like a dream. There are hot tubs in the spa locker rooms and a gorgeous outdoor hot tub as well. Since we went in winter, it was a welcome refreshing experience. The gorge and the mountains offer a peaceful setting for long walks or challenging hikes. Thank you for the quiet restoration. I will be returning very soon.

Very disappointed in our stay. We left after one night intending to stay two because the common areas were crowded with people, most of whom were not wearing a mask. The manager was very nice but stayed there was nothing that she can do. We were basically confined to our room to stay safe. The toilet got plugged right away and one of the the repair person's mask hung around his neck. When we asked him to please wear his mask he did not respond. The room was mediocre and not well kept for a $300 room with no microwave. The breakfast was almost inedible. $14 for 8 blueberries, 4 tiny

This being my first trip to Oregon, and for work, I couldn't have been luckier to be booked at the Skamania! It's tucked in the forest off the Columbia River, but is situated where it can still overlook it. This leads to some breathtaking views.
The rooms were spacious and accommodating with great vistas all around. Some have options such as gas fireplaces, or corner rooms with wrap around windows. The internet was pretty good for being in a location more out of the way, and a few miles from Stevenson, the nearest town.
Even more surprising were all the outdoor activities available on site. Whether

We were here for a retreat. All arrangements were prepaid, and all meals were served buffet. When we checked in there were about 20 people in line...the staff immediately opened more areas and checked us all in in record time. All with smiles...I think...because we were all wearing masks!
The grounds are beautiful and the view literally takes your breath away. We want to return on our own so we can fully enjoy all that Skamania Lodge has to offer.
Crossing the "Bridge of the Gods" is a cultural experience.
Be prepared for the $2.00 toll each way.

So relaxing. Lodge was decorated tastefully for Christmas. There was a cozy fire and, of course, the view was beautiful.
Thanksgiving dinner was THE best with such a variety of everything imaginable.
Thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a lodge.

The location is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. nothing else is worth the stay, unless you are a very large group that needs an all inclusive location.
the rooms are NOT soundproof, you will hear the water and 'bathroom' noises from the neighboring rooms - and yes we had a king size fireplace room that was supposed be pretty nice. very dusty. many cobwebs in the room and in the lounge. bathroom door in our room didn't close.
food was not great but ok, just not worth the price at all. there was a corporate conference and a wedding going on the 4 days we were

The view is all worth it. You really can’t have a bad day in this setting. Even if things didn’t turn out perfectly, the view makes up for it. Peaceful, tranquil and serene. Get a drink and sit outside and take in the view of the gorge! You won’t regret it.

We had lunch there. Great views. Great service. The seafood salad is fresh and tasty. Low sodium too.
The pork sandwich is on the heavy side and with too much mustard. The bun tasted industrial. Yet the fries and ketchup were very good.
The decoration of the lodge gives one a harmonious feeling. Before we arrived there, we took picture at Cape Horn with the fall foliage.

I used to come to Skamania lodge every year and haven't been to the lodge since our son was born. Now, eight years later and the place is a wreck.

After checking in well after 4pm, I was told my room wasn't ready. They switched rooms with another guest who had not yet checked in after I communicates that wasn't acceptable. In the room the toilet and air conditioner had intermittent issues and there was an ant problem in the shower.

I had several meals with dirty dishes.

The place is chaos. They're understaffed and because of that the experience is not relaxing. Everyone seems

What a perfect place to decompress and unwind. The lodge has tons of activities, or places to find peace and quiet. Whatever you are looking for? Skamania has it. The room was nice and quiet and the dining options were great too. There is plenty of great space for conferences as well! I will definitely be back!

This place is beautiful. We stayed in hood river the first two nights but I wish we would of stayed here. We came to this area to explore the Columbia River Gorge area and this resort is closer to the waterfalls than Hood River. The downtown area has a couple of boutique shops and we did not find any restaurants that looked great that were open. The restaurant at the resort had great food. The hottub at the resort has a waterfall so you feel like you are going to the spa. The beds were also super comfortable which is a must for me.

Room was filthy and uncomfortable. I went to the front desk two times throughout the day to get it serviced. Both times assured they would send someone - the first man was particularly effusive and said they would service it and leave me an extra comforter. Both times nobody came. Third time I went downstairs (close to 9pm) the woman at the desk argued with me and said they sent someone. I said "no, this mound of used tissue paper someone left in the bathroom is still there and there is no comforter and my towels were still on the floor". She said snidely "well if they were your

Updated review!:

After our last visit together, my wife and I decided that Skamania Lodge would be an awesome place to spend our one year anniversary. We booked a room, and a couple activities (zip lining and axe throwing), and looked forward to an adventure-filled weekend together. When it finally arrived, we were ready!

This place has a lot going for it, but as is often the case with destination or resort hotels, it's going to cost you a bit. We knew this going into it, but for the sake of clarity, it may be useful to know what you're getting into. Our fireplace-equipped room on the

I am a glamper... i enjoy fine bedding and 5 spray shower heads... i enjoy being pampered all while being surrounded by trees. Skamania didn't necessarily fulfill those desires but they do possess a serenity that is really second to none.

Located at the south end of our beautiful state - even the drive along the old Lewis and Clark Hwy was fun and scenic. Upon arrival - the valet area can get rather hectic if many cars pull up at the same time. But they were pretty efficient in assisting us.

Rooms were a little bit on the smaller side but the property itself is very big and spread out
