Located only 40 miles outside of Boise, Idaho City Hotel is the perfect getaway destination. Each of our renovated rooms is cozy with modern amenities and a mining boarding house flair. Whether you're looking for an exciting day in the outdoors or a relaxing weekend exploring town, Idaho City is the perfect destination.
My night's sleep couldn't have been better. One feature I hope to try out this summer is the second floor balcony, complete with a line of chairs and air conditioner for a relaxing evening rest or pleasant conversations, a great throwback to earlier times. There is an amazing verandah out front where you can relax in rocking chairs and watch the world go by.

Services
Built in 1929, the Smith Hotel and Boarding House opened for business in 1930. Mrs. Mary Smith catered mostly to logging crews who feasted on her wonderful breakfasts, took her boxed lunches to the woods, and returned in the evening for huge, hot dinners.
When the building was renovated in 1974, it was determined that many of the timbers are older than 1929, confirming the legend that part of the structure might have come from an old hotel in Placerville, ID.Dedicated to the times and history of the Idaho City Hotel. The lobby is the perfect place to meet up and enjoy a cocktail or play one of the many games provided.

This is an old historic hotel... It's been years since I've stayed in the rooms and I hear they are better than they used to be, but I appreciate how community-supportive this business is. They made great Chili for the Idaho City Chili Cookoff last March! They also have š tent camping in the back with a Campfire pit.

Wonderful cozy rustic place. Rooms are small and cozy with little simulated fireplace. Owner very accommodating. One thing Iād recommend to owner is to put warm colored bulbs in the light fixture instead of fluorescent bulbs as this would do wonders to make it more cozy and line up with the authenticity of the place.
