Roscoe Village Bikes is a Chicago neighborhood bike shop established in 2007. We offer bikes, bike parts and accessories for commuters, recreational riders and competitive cyclists. We have lights, locks, helmets, bags, baskets and more. Our team of experienced mechanics repair and assemble all makes and models from cruisers to e-bikes. Our number one goal is to help you enjoy your ride as much as possible.

There are a lot of great bike companies out there and, for some, it can be overwhelming to pick. This is why we feel it's more important to choose the bike rather than the brand. You'll find similar styles, frame materials and components as you look from brand to brand. Some manufacturers, like Jamis and Giant, offer a full line including kids bikes, road bikes, commuter models and mountain bikes.
Roscoe Village Bikes will work with you to help you find the right bike. Its actually our favorite things to do. The first step to choosing a bicycle is to consider the type of riding you would like to do. We encourage test rides because as much as someone can tell you about a bike, the best way to know if it's what you want is to try it out.

Repairs are done first come-first-serve. We strive for speed but turn-around times do vary depending on the problem and what else is in the queue. If you need a flat fix, wheel true, rack installation or any other sort of service please come on by.
We do not take appointments for flat tires, brake adjustments and other smaller repairs but we're happy to save you a spot on the repair board for a Basic Tune-up, Deluxe Tune-Up, Bike Assembly or other more complex service.Appointments are not required but if it's more convenient for you to make one, please schedule here.

Chicago is a great city for biking and we're happy to help new urban riders with maps, gear and guidance. Whether you ride for recreation, transportation, competition or all three, the local cycling community is diverse and dynamic. Excellent service, friendly, and thorough.They took great care of me and it wasn't even for a bike. My electric scooter had a problem. Maggie said bring it in we'll assess it, and if we can, we'll fix it. I got there this aft and within 10 min Alex had figured out and solved the problem. I sincerely appreciate this shop and the people who work there. They've got a fantastic reputation and they definitely deserve it!!

I have been to Roscoe for minor repairs, seasonal tuneups/routine maintenance and major “restoration” work alike and have left beyond satisfied each time. More than fair pricing, honest and friendly staff, quality work and supporting local make it a no brained. Added plus of the air hose out front being super convenient living in the neighborhood too, my only spot for all things bike.

Staff provided me a great tune-up for a worthwhile price. I asked for their added assistance in perhaps removing adhesive materials remaining on my bike rack after my having taken off the duct tape I'd used to keep bungee cords fixed in place when carrying boxes, etc. They did this quite well and without added charges. So appreciative! Their providing an air hose located outside of their storefront also shows true care for all cyclists. HIGHEST MARKS! Check them out!

Took my bike in for a tune-up which I felt was a little costly ($95) but my bike was ready the same day I brought it in, the staff are nice, and it was SUPER easy for me to find parking. After talking to some of my friends more familiar with bike care in the city they agreed that the price was a little steep but I would return the next time I need bike maintenance.

Wrote a bad review about roscoe bike shop the other week. Did some investigating and found that the distributor of the part i was waiting for was on back order. So i then realized it was not the bike shops fault but that covid has slowed the distribution of parts. MY APOLOGIES TO ROSCOE BIKE SHOP. they explained and more than made up for the inconvenience. Hands down best place to buy and service your bike. I bought two hybrid bikes for my wife and I, two child seats, a bike rack and later a bike trailer as well. Alex explained everything to me with patience, help me setup the rack in my car and also mount the trailer to my bike. Very happy with Roscoe Village Bikes and will keep supporting this neighborhood business.

Roscoe Village Bikes was great in every possible way. The staff was incredibly friendly, the prices were extremely fair and the turnaround was quick! They got a bike that needed some love up and running in no time and I was thrilled with it. This was my first visit and I plan on coming here for all bike-related needs in the future.

I chose this place based on the reviews, so I brought my bike in for a full tune up. Logan was the first person I met and she was a true delight. She's very knowledgeable, patient and very friendly. Explained to me my choices on water bottle holders, baskets and front and rear racks for my bike (Electra Cruiser 7D Lux) which she helped look up the model. Needless to say, Electra makes their own racks specifically for their bikes, so I ordered my racks directly from Trek and brought them in for them to install, a guy received them but he was short and not as friendly as Logan. I brought MULTIPLE bikes into the shop within this past year. The shop was honest of what needed to be done and they explained everything in detail of what they were going to do. Very polite, knowledgeable, and very fair priced! Didn’t feel pressured or lied to anytime. Never had to take a bike back for the same problem. They have an eye to detail as one time they even noticed something “dangerously” off with one of the bikes and fixed the problem. Ayyyee..I appreciate that.

I walked in a week ago and decided to ask about Jamis Bicycles... Alex was very helpful and shared my affinity to the Jamis brand. In less than a few minutes, I purchased the Jamis bike that I've been looking for since last summer (the summer of the Covid pandemic). They are the most genuine and Humble shop in the area! I couldn't tip with a card so just ask to increase service cost and bring cash next time ;) Parts are hard to come by so don't discount your spare parts, wheels, hubs especially! I still can't believe the prices and I build and tear my bike down myself: trust me. No matter who is working the best attention will be spent on your dream bike. Will bring everybody to this shop in the future!

I had tried two different shops before finding Roscoe's. I didn't have an appointment or had called, but they were still able to help me! They were honest about the work my bike needed and how long it would take before a full tune-up could happen. But where also able to do some quick work for me to be able to keep riding my bike in the mean time!

Overall: Great service at a great price, RVB will be my go-to from now on!
The good: Dropped off the bike for an fix and they called back within a few hours, even though the quote was 24 hours. Very reasonably priced compared to other shops, and the service was friendly and helpful.
The not-so-good: They are quite popular and, especially with COVID, the lines can get quite long.

Awesome guys, and great service. They helped me restore a Bob Jackson from the 70s that was passed down from my pops, and they did a fantastic job on a custom build on a Salsa touring bike. Not the biggest inventory, but they will get you what you want, and you'll leave happy. I'm happy to support this independent Local Bike Shop!

The absolute best. They know when and how to charge appropriately. Like a good old fashioned town bike shop, they know when to charge a little, or charge nothing at all. But when it comes to the real work, they charge appropriately for their expertise and quality - as they should. I always go to them for our family cycling needs.

RVB will forever be where my love for cycling began. After living in Chicago for years and constantly seeing cyclists around the city and lakefront, I finally decided to purchase a bike. I did some research but couldn't help but be a total novice. Dan (and several others) at RVB helped with bike selection, accessories, advice, and more. My girlfriend and I purchased our bikes last year. I had some trouble early on and RVB was ridiculously accommodating. Now during the current pandemic, they've helped us with getting a trainer setup so we can stay at home and still cycle. Bottom line,

I've been to this shop several times in the past. The folks here are always upstanding. When repairing your bikes, you're often given options with which services you want do, and which ones you don't. They never pressure you. No snotty attitude, just damn good service. The whole crew at Rosecoe village bikes have been great to work with. They are not pushy and their prices are very reasonable. They know their stuff and willing to listen to customers requests. Even though they do not carry electric bikes, I have had my Bosch powered bikes serviced here. The tune-ups basically. One time, one the Nuvinci hubs started acting up and Ryan took his time to remedy this and restore the functionality. They go above and beyond and as I said, they are not greedy or pushy. For their excellent work ethic and customer service, they get 5 stars.

This bike shop absolutely ROCKS. The owners and staff are nothing but friendly helpful and you can tell they truly love what they do. They are very open to walk in for a quick fixes which was helpful when I went in on a Saturday afternoon. They are very responsible and while I was there they even reported a stolen bike back to the owner after it was missing for over five years. They do quality work at a very fair price. I'm a relativiley competitive cyclist so I'm really picky about my bike shop. It has to be there perfect combination of knowledgable but also friendly and approachable. This place is the best. I have been to many places in the city but they all lacked in one area. This hasn't been the case for this place. Huge fan and highly recommend.

My husband, my friend and I were all looking to buy a bike. We shopped around a few places in the city before coming to RVB. I'm glad we shopped around because it made us realize what a gem we had right in our own neighborhood! We each bought a bike, my husband and I bought locks and my friend bought a helmet. The bikes come with 2 free tune ups which is awesome. My husband added back brakes to his bike a few months after we bought the bikes and they put them in for free which was really nice.
