Dr. Ong was born and raised in New York City, NY. After attending Brooklyn Technical High School, he was accepted to Cornell University, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society for his outstanding academic achievements. He received his medical training at New York University School of Medicine, where he graduated with distinction and was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Still In Pain!!!

I am still in crippling pain at this date, thanks to Las Vegas', brought to you by NYU Med School and the University of Pittsburgh Center For Sports Medicine, our own reincarnation, of Doctor Joseph Mengele, Dr. Bernie Ong!!!!
This "whiz kid" has the bedside manner and compassion of the grey rock that sits my yard, should have his license yanked. I would never have this purported "magnificent" surgeon touch me again in my life!! I would gladly prefer to

My experience with Dr. Ong was the worst medical experience I have ever had in my adult life. I was referred to Dr. Ong for a 6 series of Synvisc injections, one in each knee over a three week period. Dr. Ong's patient bedside manner is nonexistent. Sadly his arrogance is greater than his intellect. He was totally blasé in our three interactions. He did not know my name and referred to me as "Buddy." He was totally disinterested in me and my knee problems.
He spent a maximum of three minutes with me each visit. His nurse practitioner does all the preparation including have me roll up my pants

I have had 4 surgeries, and multiple injections into my knee because of residual damage from having had a badly broken leg. Dr. Ong did my last, and final repair. I am now 6 months past my total knee replacement; and I haven't felt this good in 20+ years! For the two years prior to this surgery I was either wearing a leg brace from hip to toe, or walking with a cane... or both, and I was afraid that it would get no better than that. Within 3 months of my surgery I was able to walk 3 miles without a cane. At 6 months I am able to walk 5 miles 3 or 4 times a week (at age 68); and I am down 25 pounds

If you get along with the typical East Coast NY personality (short, uncommunicative, borderline rude), then you might along with Dr Ong. But if you're looking for compassion, communication and explanation of your condition, look elsewhere. Dr Ong read my MRI and asked, "so what do you want to do?" Seriously, you give me zero options and ask what I want done?
When I called with follow up questions, he was obviously too bothered and in an extreme rush to get off the phone. We were on the phone for literally 5 min but I was billed for a full visit.

Avoid a horrible migraine and see another Doctor. All around a disaster from the beginning to the end. Dr. Ong preformed a full knee replacement on me. I was given enough pain medication for one week. Although, my follow up appointment was two weeks later. I asked Dr. Ong if I can get a two week prescription since it’s difficult for me to get a ride back to the doctors office, just to pick up a prescription, I was told “NO”. I asked if he write two prescriptions dated a week apart, again I was told “NO”. All my follow up appointments for the next 8 weeks were scheduled two weeks apart

Today I had my 6-month follow-up appointment with Dr. Ong for my knee replacement. As I explained to Dr. Ong, I am so happy with the outcome. I am 70 years old and am now back to my regular workouts with activities that include hour walks, swimming laps, rowing, stationary bike, elliptical, spinning, kickboxing, aerobics and leg strength-training. I feel great and am so glad to be active again. Dr. Ong is very professional and seems to really care about his patients. I am so lucky to have selected him to do my surgery.

Had a complete knee replacement in 2017. Dr. Ong did an amazing job. Not only is my new knee totally pain free with full mobility, I rarely even remember my knee is artificial. Not to mention, he did such an amazing job on my incision, my scar is barley noticeable. I will eventually have to have the other knee done and I would not trust anyone other than Dr. Ong. to perform the procedure. Highly recommended!

SUPER DOC!!! Rotator cuff tear and meniscus tear surgery done by Dr. Ong and it's been great. He was very attentive to my needs and answered every question so I would understand what to expect out of each surgery procedure. Also the staff is great especially the young lady at the front desk Ms Charlie..I highly recommend Dr. Onh for Ortho work

Dr. Ong is a very caring and knowledgable physician. I had osteoarthritis so bad in my right knee that not only could I not walk without extreme pain but I couldn't straighten out my leg so I walked with a limp. I went to him for a couple of years. He tried shots in my knee but told me that I needed a total knee replacement. Over the years I have not had any luck with doctors and surgeries. I was terrified. But Dr. Ong was always very patient with me and never pushed me into having the surgery before I was ready. I finally had the surgery last year.

Dr. Ong is an excellent surgeon and his staff is attentive, friendly and accommodating. I recently had a total knee replacement and I couldn't be more pleased with the process, the follow-ups and the treatment. I'm back up and moving like my old self and it is all due to Dr. Ong and his staff. There are many orthopaedic surgeons to choose from in Las Vegas, but Dr. Ong is the best and if you want the best you go to him!

Dr Ong has operated on both my knees prior to replacing them. This man is a very gifted surgeon. I experience no post op pain on the scope surgeries, and the knee replacements, both went very well, with pain medication needed only for the therapy. I have very little scaring. I could not be happier with the results and continually recommend him to my friends.

I am very impressed with Dr. Ong. 10 stars for his bedside manners. 10 stars for the time he takes to talk with you. He doesn't treat you like just another number. You feel so welcome and he explains things very clearly. He is so knowledgeable.
Also, 10 stars to the staff. The girl at the front desk today was very pleasant with a nice happy smile.
The assistant who set me up in the room and reviewed my file was smart, detailed, and kind.
I recommend him to everyone. I've already text photos of his business card to people I know.

Can't say enough about Dr. Ong. What a great individual who is very knowledgable, professional and caring. I Had left should surgery which Dr. Ong identified the problem and recommended the appropriate treatment. I felt very comfortable with the process and knew what to expect before and after the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Ong and the office staff as friendly and professional.

My husband was referred to Dr. Ong for his knee. Everything happened so smooth and quick. Got a consult,MRI and scheduled for surgery all within a week. Surgery went very well and continued with follow up appointments and physical therapy. So excited to say, 3 months after surgery, my husband is cleared of appointments and physical therapy!!!
Dr. Ong's staff is amazing!!! There was miscommunication with my husband. I was able to give them a call and fix it without issues. They even worked through their lunch to help us!! Forever grateful!!!

I've had 2 total knee replacements by Dr Ong, summer of 2017 and summer of 2018 both of which were very successful .
His staff has always been very efficient , friendly and helpful. Dr Ong spends time with his patients , answering all questions and is very personable. I highly recommend his office !
