Services
I am an experienced psychotherapist and have been in private practice in the Pasadena area since 1988. I was born and raised in Southern California by parents who immigrated to the United States. While living in Europe as a teenager, I was fortunate to be able to live in and experience an entirely different culture.
I have a general psychotherapy practice, where I see clients who come in seeking help for a broad range of personal problems. My belief is that since each individual is unique, therapy needs to be purposfully adapted to help each person in a way that will work for him or her. As I work with you, my focus is on creating a highly individualized plan that addresses your own goals and aspirations.
If you're considering therapy for the first time, it is natural for you to be curious about how therapy 'works'. If you've been in therapy before, you may be curious about the way different therapists approach their work with clients.

There have been many research studies that have demonstrated that therapy is very effective for resolving many of the problems that people are struggling with, from marital conflict and relationship problems to more serious problems such as eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. However, therapy is not a 'quick fix', in the way that antibiotics may quickly cure an ear infection.
The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the object it loves. I also have special expertise in providing therapy for those engaged in the performing, literary, visual, and media arts. People engaged in creative work or careers connected with the arts often face unique pressures and concerns in both their personal and professional lives.
All schools of therapy, be they behavioral, psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive behavioral, or others, share one basic understanding. The essence of therapy, (and what leads to successful results for clients) is not any particular theoretical orientation or techniques, but the very relationship that the therapist and client co-create in their work together.
