The stress of life, transitions, traumatic events, and relationships can sometimes push us off balance and make us feel stuck, hopeless or overwhelmed. I bring a warm and calm presence to psychotherapy, inviting you to slow down and tune in to your inner world with curiosity and compassion. It's my hope that you will leave our work not only with a greater sense of peace and clarity, but also the ability to connect to your inner-strengths to promote long-lasting change.
Services
I work with individuals age 16+ who value deep self-exploration and desire growth and healing. My work is relational, holistic, and rooted in psychodynamic theory, tailored to each individual's needs. In addition, I often use techniques from cognitive-behavioral, Internal family systems, Humanistic and experiential therapies.
This year's focus for National Psychotherapy Day is for everyone to support mental health care by sharing their therapy story with someone. Here is a snapshot of what therapy has been for me. Since becoming a therapist, the word "curiosity" has become such an important word in my vocabulary. Not only do I use it often in my work with clients to promote exploration and growth, but also in my own life as a daily practice.
Although treatment will vary between each client, it is common for me to use an in-depth approach to therapy that is meant not only to help you decrease the unwanted symptoms you are experiencing, but also encourage you to grow in your self-understanding, authenticity, and relationships. I invite you to speak freely about anything that comes to mind in sessions, including current issues, fears, desires, and fantasies.
Trauma comes in various forms, and all of us experience some degree of trauma in our lifetime. From acute incidents such as a car accident or an assault, to chronic experiences of abuse, neglect, and loss, events such as these can leave a lasting and devastating impact on our lives. Combining a holistic view and knowledge of neuropsychology, I take great care in supporting those who have experienced trauma.
Even the healthiest of couples experience some degree of conflict in their lives. The secret is addressing those issues head-on and not letting your less-than-loving interactions define you or your relationship. By seeking out couples counseling, you can gain insight into your relationship dynamics, grow in both your physical and emotional intimacy, rebuild trust, and repair any lingering emotional wounds or traumas.

I am a psychotherapist and I had the privilege to train and consult with Cyla for many months as post-graduates. Cyla is on the short list of therapists whose clinical insight, professionalism, and warmth I trust and admire. I regularly refer clients to her and have frequently consulted with her on challenging cases. Not only does Cyla deeply understand people and psychotherapy, she possesses a rare ability to connect and empathize with a diverse range of people. I recommend her without reservation!

Cyla is a thoughtful clinician who seeks to aid her clients in getting to the root of their issues to find true healing and self-discovery. I would feel confident sending couples, adolescents and creative young adults her way for guidance and support through difficult times in life. I look forward to continued collaborations with Cyla in the field of mental health for many years to come.
