The staff was pleasant enough, but unfortunately not ethical. I came in for some pain felt in a back tooth. I needed a crown. He replaced after about 4 to 5 visits, which I never experienced in the past. Usually same day or only 2 visits. Upon any work being done and after giving them my insurance which they said they take and never billing my insurance, charged me nearly $1300. I paid, wrong on my part. Then checked with my insurance and was only to pay $245. They gave me the difference after I had to wait to get the money back while my insurance worked it out. Then I had to get a root canal

I love going there. I've been going for about 2 years now. I had my teeth straightened now by clear correct at the age of 47 and I am excited with the results. Also, I love getting my teeth cleaned so I go every 4 months which is great. All in all great staff, great Dentist. Great office.

This dental office is excellent and uses state of the art procedures to protect your dental health. The Dr also teaches at the USC dental school so that indicates the level of expertise. They are quite friendly and I have found them to be thorough.
I have been a patient there for several years now.

We absolutely love this dentist! He is the only one I will take my kids too. He is thorough and professional with his care and treatment. I drive from Corona to ensure my family gets the best dental care from Dr. Datu. There is no dishonesty with up billing or claiming that there is dentist work needed that isn't legitimate. Trust me I have had my fair share of those kind of establishments. It's worth my time to go to Dr. Datu whom I trust. I have had cosmetic to regular dentistry done by Dr. Datu including my children. A+ Dental experience! I have had two crowns and many cleanings done here and am always happy with the work performed. One of the crowns was on a front tooth and the match was so perfect that after two years people are still shocked to find out it's not the original tooth. The entire staff is friendly and Dr. Datu is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and is always happy to answer any questions.

The staff and Dr. Datu are awesome! My gums would bleed whenever I brushed my teeth. Previous dentists and doctors could not solve the issue. One basic cleaning treatment by Dr. Datu and my gums haven't bleed while brushing since that cleaning and it has been 2 years! He's great with kids too. My six year old likes coming to the dentist. She says the visits are "good". I say that the visits are excellent. Thanks Smile Gallery Dental!

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Datu for almost a year, and we are both really pleased. The office is quite professional and friendly, and they are quite thorough. As a matter of fact, that is one of the things we appreciate most at Smile Gallery. They take the time to explain everything carefully and make sure we understand what we need and what our options are. Dr. Datu calms nerves and is willing to take the time to help his patients relax. Treatment is careful, thorough, and so far has been truly painless even with moderately complicated procedures. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend

I've got to agree with Jerome G on this one. This dentist, David Datu, tries to convey intelligence but it only comes across as condescending and smug-like. For reference, I am a biology graduate and work in the medical industry, so it's not as if I'm some ignorant layman who cannot comprehend a medical professional's terminology. This is exactly the point: it's not particularly about what he says, it's about how he says it.
It really doesn't matter if you teach at USC. One, there are plenty of professors out there that have no idea what they're talking

I found my new family dentist. The staff & Dr are all great, made me & my daughter feel very comfortable. I had a filling that fell out & he tried his best to keep it from a root canal but unfortunately after a month I couldn't avoid it. I've had a crown & filling & didn't feel much pain (although the drilling for the final impression did hurt). They gave me a couple of estimates, the recommended 1 that my HMO of course doesn't cover & 1 my insurance does. He tried to be as conservative as possible, 1st trying a filling instead of just going for a

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything seems to be done in a very timely manner - I had to wait very little, if at all, during both of my visits. Dr. Datu is a great dentist, very nice! It had been quite a long time since I had last been seen by a dentist, so I was definitely relieved by how at ease I felt during my experience here.

After not visiting a dentist for quite a few years, i had a filling fall out and needed to get it fixed asap. I found Dr. Datu on the list my insurance provider gave me, and scheduled an appt. His staff was courteous and professional on the phone, and the same in person. I, like most people, DREAD going to the dentist for anything, but after meeting Dr. Datu, i was set at ease. My lost filling ended up needing a crown, but the procedure wasn't uncomfortable, and i feel that i got a great value for my dollar. I will be returning to Dr. Datu for all my future dental needs.

My family and I have been a patient of Dr. Datu before Smile Gallery Dental opened. Dr. Datu was my dentist in Downey, and when I discovered that he was opening up his own dental practice in Orange, I had to follow him. We've been loyal patients ever since because my family and I have to travel over 24 miles (30 minutes) EACH WAY to visit Dr. Datu. It's worth the drive, gas, mileage, and time because my family and I consistently receive the the highest quality of dental care and advice. We love Nicole and Daniella because they are always nice and helpful.

Dr. Datu's office was very welcoming! The staff are all friendly and really helpful, answered all my questions and really made me feel comfortable. Dr. Datu himself also put me at ease because I came to this dentist with a lot of concerns, and fear from terrible dental experiences in the past. He is really good at being patient, explaining everything so you understand what's going on and what is the ideal course of treatment, and I feel like his motives were pure (he didn't try to push extra/unnecessary procedures just to make money.. which has happened to me a lot with other dentists
