Salem cycle is hands down the best bike shop on the northshore! Where else do you have a shop around that covers all things "bike", from building e-bikes to working on fixed gears and tandem bikes? This place is NOT another one of those cycle emporiums exclusively for old roadies and full suspension weight weenies, but rather a sanctuary for anything with two wheels and a chain. They even offer skateboard decks and wheels!

The staff here truly care about their customer relationships and the work they perform on bikes, and treat their customers like family while also maintaining a business

To someone just getting back into bike riding after 25+ years, some bike shops can be intimidating. Not this one! Truly appreciate the super friendly staff, who clearly know their stuff and also were kind enough to let me peruse the inventory (which was much more robust than other local places) and answer my questions even after closing time. Really looking forward to riding my new bike, and I'm sure this won't be my family's last purchase!

I had a friend suggest Salem Cycles for a hard to find accessory. I was looking for an adapter for my ebike's rear rack to mount my existing Topeak Bag. The website was easy to navigate and the prompt same day shipping of the adapter exceeded my expectations.

I'm looking forward to an in-person visit the next time I'm in the coastal towns north of Boston.

I love this bike store. They are not local to me but I go there whenever I am in the area. They are extremely knowledgeable and they have "fun things" in the store that I usually do not see in my local bike store (e.g. an air horn for my bike or a crash kit in case of an accident this will automatically call for assistance). I really like going in there an just chatting with them and other customers. Several months ago I was speaking with a gentleman that builds those "frankenbikes" (as I like to call them) that had to be over 10 feet high. He even asked me if I wanted

My favorite local bike shop. Brought in a BMX wheel with a bad hub and cone and within 30 minutes Connor was able to source parts off another new in-stock axle to get it up and running for me.
Always friendly service there and an increasing selection of BMX parts now that you can purchase Odyssey and Shadow Conspiracy parts. They're also carrying more of those big-wheel BMX Cruisers like the SE Bikes PK Ripper/Big Ripper series.

Last summer, I rode my bike to work. When I finished work, I noticed I had a flat tire. Luckily Salem Cycle was close by and still open for the day. I was expecting to leave my bike there to get the tire repaired and come back for it the next day. But to my surprise the bike tech (I can't recall his name) said he could repair it while I waited.

While he worked on the tire, I browsed around the store. One of my hand grips needed replaced. I found two different grips I liked and asked for advice as to which set of grips would be better. Rather than make a quick recommendation and suggest

Don't waste your money. The guys working in the shop were quick to hustle me through an inexpensive purchase. I asked for two presta bike tubes. The guy working the shop barely gave me time to get the words out of my mouth and he sent me out with two Schrader valve tubes. Cost me 25 bucks that I won't recover and worse have to make another trip to a different store so I can repair my bike tire.

During our trip to New England last fall we stopped in lots of bike shops. B is a mountain biker, so he likes to check out the shops and see if there's anything interesting.

Salem Cycle was a nice little shop. It's small, but has all of the basics you would need for biking. The staff was friendly and attentive.

We picked up a water bottle as a keepsake, and now that the weather is warming up at home it's starting to get a lot of use. I really like their logo, which is a witch on a broom bike riding in front of a full moon. It's kind of cheesy, but I loved Salem and I loved

I stopped into Salem Cycle on a whim.
I was immediately impressed with the amount inventory of bicycles they had in stock.
The clerk was extra informative and wiling to answer all my questions.
He allowed me to take a few photos to go home and do research as most of the bicycles were in the $1000. and above.
I did see a couple bicycles that I'll research.
I was also offered a demo, they have a few bicycles available to try prior to purchasing.
I give Salem Cycle a Solid 5 Stars.

Really friendly and knowledgeable staff! I took my vintage bike that Laundry's cycles could not fix and the Salem cycle guys easily fixed it with no problem. Also was much cheaper than I expected. I definitely now have a new bike shop that I will be frequenting!

I bought my first road bike here about 12 years and have had reason to go in and get things I needed over the years but have usually maintained the bike myself. This year I was having some problems with the shifters and knowing it had never been professionally gone over, I brought it in.

The staff there are pretty inattentive at times especially if there are several working (strange), but generally it is OK.

When I brought my bike in, one of the staff had a quick look and said the chain was problem and it had to be replaced and because the chain needed replacing I needed a new cassette. This

My wife took my 7 year old son's Trek mountain bike for a tune up. The mechanic put the bike on a lift and started looking at it. During the inspection he dismantled the front brake and front brake lines. He then told my wife that the front brakes needed to be replaced. He quoted her $120.00 dollars for new brakes and a "tune up".

I felt like this was a bit much for brakes and a tune up. We decided to cancel the service.

When my wife went into the store to pick up the bike she discovered that the brake line and front brake were dismantled. My wife asked the mechanic why the

Had an expensive bike packed for shipment a few months ago. It turns out that they didn't put any cushion or bubble wrap on the frame and it was badly damaged during shipment. I understand part of the blame falls on UPS for rough-handling but the damage would not have happened if they took more care and effort in packing it. For a $80 dollar service, you'd think they'd know what they were doing.

We rented 2 road bikes for a day on a recent trip to the northeast. The experience at Salem Cycle was simply awesome. The team went above and beyond to help us, fit the bikes, fit the pedals to our shoes, awesome directions for where to ride, gave us multi-tools just in case - and the best part - we received 2 brand new bikes for our rentals.

Highly recommend this shop for rentals (and would imagine their sales and service are just as good). It was clear that their team cared about the people that walk in the door.

Absolutely fantastic group of guys. They helped get me started with road biking without trying to push the most expensive gear to make a buck of a noob. I go in there at least once a week, they always have new stock. Would recommend to anyone who loves biking.
