Services
Please note: We unfortunately do not service all makes of bicycles - please call beforehand to make sure we can help you with your bike before heading down! Let us take the hassle out of getting your bike(s) in to be repaired. Woody's will pick your bike up, and our service writers will then diagnose your bicycle and call you with your quote.
It does not matter if you are a road rider, mountain biker, triathalete, or a recreational rider as almost anyone (at any level of riding and experience) can benefit from proper fit on their bike. Proper fit can allow you to ride in more comfort, at a faster speed, or farther (or any combination thereof), and help eliminate discomfort and attendant loss of performance or stamina.
Woody's is the NorthShore's premier Fork/Shock tuning and rebuilder. We do all the work here in Middleton so you do not have your bike down for the 2-3 weeks while it ships to Cali (or wherever) and back like you will with Fox, Push or other rebuilders. Get it done quickly and get back out on the trail!
Woody's offers full wheelbuilding services for all of your Racing, Road, Mountain, Aero, Time Trial, Downhill, Freeride, BMX, Vintage and Fixie wheel needs! We do it all!

All wheelbuilding is done by Master Wheelbuilder John (aka Woody) Stanwood, and come with an unconditional guaranty of quality and a one-year warranty against spoke breakage (if wheel is built to Woody's recommended spec), along with one year's free truing (barring crashes and abuse).
Woody's has a serious love affair with cool old bikes! We talk your language, from early MTB, Road, English, French, Italian, Swiss - we love them all (and we have a rotating permanent collection in the store to prove it)!

Woody's also tries to dispense with elitism in the market, and strives for realistic pricing based on condition, rarity, and stock levels - in a word, we keep it real, so you can build your dream bike or keep your old reliable steed running!Yes, Woody's buys old bikes and parts! We love Estate Auction lots, parts and bikes in quantity!

The guys at Woody’s are top notch. They really take care of their customers even when inventory is low they do everything they can to get you on the right bike. They go above and beyond with support as well, both talking you through adjustments on the phone and doing quick fixes at the shop ASAP. I’ve bought my last two bikes from Woody’s and I don’t see myself buying another bike from anywhere else in the future.

Woody’s is great! Jim fixed my chain and got me back on the road with a new light in under 20 minutes. Also got some great suggestions on gravel riding nearby. 10/10 recommend!

Been buying from Woody for almost ten years now. John (Woody), the owner is the man, a true cycling enthusiast, and is by far the best in the area. Love spending my time here and love supporting them. I was professionally fitted by him and bought my first brand new road bike and expressed exactly what my riding intentions and style was back in 2013. He worked with me to get the exact bike for my budget, my riding style, and skill level. Still ride that bike (Jamis Ventura) daily 7 years later. I also enjoy doing the work myself but sometimes not really sure what part to order, so Woody listens

I have visited many bike shops over the years and I must say this is the best one. Their level of expertise was fantastic. If you want a perfectly tuned bike to fit your style this is the place. I've bought two bikes there. You won't be disappointed.

When I started cycling 4 or 5 years ago I lived in Middleton and would drop in at Woody's regularly. I had a million novice questions and even if I never spent a dime all the guys there were happy to help and just talk cycling.
I brought my bike there for regular maintaince and some not so regular repairs and the work was always top notch at a very reasonable price.
This year I moved to CT and started to take riding more seriously. A few months into the summer I began experiencing sharp paine in my knee and hip. I knew the fit of my bike was off. I visited a few bike shops in CT, but I just didn

My experiences at Woody's to date have been good. My husband and I have been customers for about 4 years now, and in that time have bought two road bikes, had 3 bike fittings with the owner and several tune ups. A few years ago there was an associate who was an annoying know-it-all, but he is long gone. Jim and Ed who have helped us more recently have been great - today as I dropped my bike off for a service Ed spent time reassembling and tightening my loose cleats at no charge. I appreciate the little extras.

This place is such a statistic! It's the Classic example of what people mean when they criticize the snobbery and rudeness of local bike shops. I asked if they had more used bikes than the 5 sitting out front, and the owner responded with some sarcastic remark about how they're "not Carmax," and I should "look somewhere else if you want a bike we don't have." I've been to this place before and encountered similar disrespect, but never again.

Not to mention they are DRASTICALLY overpriced for items and offer mediocre service!

I would rather drive back down

Went for bike fitting. My appointment was for 430. I called and asked to come in early the said it would be no problem and to come in an hour and a half early. Woody was very knowledgeable and helpful in fitting my bike. He also talked to about whatever I wanted to know about my bike and anything else. This is a great store with great staff.

John Stanwood and his three mechanics have 120 years of combined experience. They have no agenda to sell you anything, just expertise, friendliness, integrity, and superb service and support policies. Their selection, though not all in-house like a big store, addresses every level of interest and expertise from the hobbyist to the fanatic. This is the kind of place that gets the repairs from the discount and move-the-inventory stores where the staff don't know what they're doing. It is worth going 20 miles out of your way to visit Woody's. You feel as though you WANT to give a store like this your

An update to Woody's response:
What I requested is not odd. Woody's is a specialized dealer, Specialized expects them to honor warranty issues with their products, regardless of whether they stock them or not. The truth of that is clear from my direct conversation with a Specialized rep. I never requested that Woody's replace the boots at their expense or that they instantly hand me a replacement, I simply asked that they process a warranty claim on a brand they represent, on a product whose defect made it physically painful to use, and which I had only worn once. They refused. My distillation

Outstanding service! I took my wife's childhood bicycle complete with banana seat and monkey bars to Woody's for restoration as a surprise for my wife. It was in pieces and rusty but they managed to make it look like new! They did a remarkable job and my wife was in tears. Now let's see what my eight year old daughter will do to it.

Unethical bike shop! As a 12-time Ironman finisher and someone who has been riding for decades and spent many years working in a bike store, this girl knows a thing or two about bikes. Just before relocating back to New England, my sis purchased a new bike which she has now rode a few hundred miles. She brought her bike in and specifically asked for them to ONLY tighten the cables. The gentleman asked if she wanted a tune-up in which she reiterated that it only has a few hundred miles, please just tighten the cables. She came back later in the day to be charged $90 for a tune-up. After further

Stopped in to see if they had a crank arm puller for sale this past Fall (square-taper BB) and they (the owner?) ended up selling me an extra one from their shop tools, at a great price too! He didn't have to do that and I really appreciated it.

Thank you!

I have been visiting a lot of shops looking at different brands of bikes. The staff here was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, remembered me from my call when I came in, and was very accommodating with test rides.

Bike shops seem to be the one type of business that really doesn't try to up-sell you...I swear it's true of every one...but Woody's was extra budget-conscious. If I were a new cyclist that didn't want to spend a ton of money, buying for a child, etc. this is absolutely the first shop I would go to. They had some great deals on previous model year bikes.

Great shop. Staff and owner are enthusiastic and knowledgeable without being in any way condescending. Woody's was recommended to me by my local shop because the guys at Woody's are "master wheel builders," and are great with vintage bikes. John, the owner set me up with a great New Old Stock Mavic rim and a very nice XT hub. My old school, 90's mountain bike is back on the trail with period correct parts, and a well built, strong wheel. Could not be happier with the service or the price. I recommend this shop and I will be back soon!

Very happy with the service. We brought my son's bike in on a Saturday afternoon. They told us it would be ready on Monday or Tuesday, but they called within a couple hours and told us it was ready. They rushed it after seeing how hard it was for him to leave his bike! Very nice.
