Born out of our love of fine wines and delicious food, Chateau Niagara Winery has become the premiere location for fine wines on the Niagara Lake Plain. In June of 2006 our odyssey began when we purchased 31 acres of prime farmland on the banks of 18 Mile creek in Newfane and began growing high quality vinifera wine grapes.
Varieties include well known wine grapes Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Blaufrankish as well as some exotic varieties- Saperavi and Turan. These grapes are part of long term effort to create very innovative wines as well as classic styles interpreted with a sense of the Niagara Lake Plain influence.

This is a hidden gem. The couple that make the wine and run this place are so welcoming and very well versed in wines and grapes. I have visited many wineries in my life and none compare to these wines. Bravo to you! It is the 1st time I left a wine tasting with a case of wine. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!

Chateau Niagara is hands down the best wine tasting I've ever had. Tasting and learning about each wine is a wonderful experience. I usually prefer sweet wines, but the dry wines here were so refreshing and flavorful that I left reevaluating my preferences. No matter what wines you prefer, you will love these wines.

The wine was decent. The dog, Fin, was the best, and the quietly funny and kind hearted female co-owner was sweet and welcoming. Ambiance is lacking and the male co-owner (self-taught and all-knowing, by his own account) didn't contribute to this being a pleasant tasting experience, unfortunately. They do well within their region though, he says. Just not for me. Good for them. I wish them well.

Jim is absolutely amazing. Out of all the winerys I have been to, none compare to the experience and story behind the work he does at Chateau Niagra. He took us on a journey with knowledge to back it. I joined the wine club, and will definitely be back next time I am here. Definitely worth the trip and every penny spent. I highly recommend the trip.

Fell in love with this "mom & pop" winery. Jim is extremely knowledgeable and is putting Red's on the map for Western New York. This place has been by far our anniversary trip experience highlight. From the warm greetings by Fin the dog to the pleasentiries and breadth of unique knowledge Jim shared was just amazing. We just can't say enough great things about this quaint winery with mind blowing reds that challenges the norm when thinking of traditionaly classified wines leveraging the area's soil attributes of full bodied fruit forward strengths delivering spectacular Cab Franc and many others
