Dr. Thakur graduated from Pt. J.N.M. Medical College in Raipur, India and completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Amarillo, Texas, in 2005. She works in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Thakur is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of both the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
Doctors of internal medicine focus on caring for adults and have had special study and training focusing on dealing with adult diseases. To qualify, at least three years of their medical school and postgraduate training must be dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions that affect adults.
