Testing lasts 48 hours with the tightest tolerance monitor available, the Corentium Pro. It uses passive diffusion, alpha spectrometry and silicon photodiodes to measure alpha particle energy from radon gas decay. Calibration is C-NRPP certified to a standard deviation +/-7%. Even if treated in the past, recurring insect activity can be a risk.
Thank you for the detailed inspection and particularly the observation of efflorescence on the chimney. We hired JMR after the buyers of our home used them and we saw the quality and depth of their report. We really appreciated the thorough work that our inspector Chris did. He spent a lot of time talking with us and explaining his findings, and he answered a lot of questions for us. Their front office staff were also very kind and flexible with us when we had to reschedule for reasons beyond our control. JMR inspected a home we made an offer on, and literally everything about the process was better than I could ever hope for. Their scheduling was easy, the website and sample report helped me know exactly what to expect, and I felt safe not being able to travel to the house because of the very detailed report that showed up that evening! And then they were nice enough to talk over the important parts and humor my ideas and bad jokes. My only regret is that I don't have a time machine so I could pay them to do my last home's inspection. They also scheduled a third-party termite inspection

This was not our first home buying experience, so I've met several inspectors now. By far, of all my experiences, JM Rodkey did the the best job. He was on time and incredibly thorough.
We were having a home built in the 1980s inspected. John was knowledgeable about the materials and methods used during the time period, could explain how the house was constructed, what was good, bad and indifferent about the work.
